Am I going to die ?

I shake that thought from my mind. I can’t let another one of them get me, the cut on arms and chest are already bad enough.

I continue to swing my sword the best I am capable of at the moment but each time I cut through their flesh I can feel mine burn.

One of them is able to get behind me and cut through my right leg. The pain forces me to fall on my knees. I gasp for air as I try to look around me for my comrades. I can see him, busy with his part of the enemy.

I am going to die.

As I fall out of consciousness and let my body finally feel the dirt, a firm arm is able to slip itself under mine. His touch gets me a last shot adrenaline, I manage to use my sword as a support. I try to lift my self up on my feets; without success.

« Let me take over. You rest. »

It’s the last thing I heard before I let my consciousness fade away at last.
