Summary: Hyunjin decides to propose to Felix on stage at the Sbs gayo show, but things don’t exactly go as planned when the ring falls out of the box.

Hyunjin paced nervously as he watched Felix with the other members, the blonde was always smiling, always so happy and playful. It was one of many reasons that Hyunjin loved him.

His smile, his eyes that seemed to speak for him, his kind soul, his devotion to his faith, his desire to help kids around the world, Felix was an angel on earth.

His angel.

Hyunjin reached into his pocket, taking out the black velvet box that had been there since they’d left the dorm.

Opening it up, he expected to see a silver ring sitting on a pillow. Instead, it was just the pillow, no ring.

“Shit.”

He looked around desperately, when did it fall out!? Where was it now!?

“Shit…shit…shit!”

He weaved through the crowd of idols, scanning the floor for the ring.

Confetti covered the stage, all the feet around him making the confetti shift with each step.

“Damn it, I’ll never find it like this!”

He looked up, spotting Chan a few feet away. He could help.

“Hey! Channie-hyung!”

He calls out, Chan quickly nods and comes over.

“Hyunjin, what’s up?”

Hyunjin’s hands were trembling, his eyes watering a bit.

How could he have been so careless!?

“Okay so…don’t say anything but I was going to propose to Felix.”

Chan’s eyes widened, a gasp leaving him.

“Hyunjin, that's great! So what do you need me to do?”

Hyunjin sighed,

“Well…the ring fell out of the box. Sometime when we were performing, and I have no idea where it possibly could have fallen. I just don’t want Felix to find it before I can ask him.”

Chan nodded, understanding what he needed to do.

“I’ll keep Felix busy, you have the other members help you look. We’ll find the ring , mate.”

Hyunjin breathed a sigh of relief, they would find the ring. They had to.

“That’s perfect, thank you, thank you, Hyung! I owe you one!”

Hyunjin ran off, looking for the ring while Chan kept Felix distracted.

He spotted Jisung and Jeongin, sighing softly as he quickly approached his group mates.

“Hey! Jisung!? Jeongin!? I need your help!”

Jeongin smiled,

“Sure Hyung, what is it?”

Hyunjin took a deep breath, steeling his nerves.

“So…I…you guys know Felix and I have been dating for a while right?”

“Right.”

Hyunjin sighed, tugging on his hair.

“I’m gonna ask him to marry me, well…was…I lost the fucking ring on the stage somewhere. And I need you guys to help me find it before he does. I have Chan keeping him distracted.”

Chan was with Felix, off to the side. Hyunjin couldn’t help but smile, the blonde was so pretty today.

Felix was always pretty, but even more so today.

“I just…want this to be special, because it’s Christmas.”

Jisung and Jeongin nodded,

“Don’t worry Hyung, we got you.”

Hyunjin breathed a sigh of relief, patting their shoulders.

“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I owe you.”

He pulled up a photo of the ring,

“This is the ring, it’s silver with a rose quartz crystal on the top. It’s pretty small since Felix has tiny hands, just find it before Felix does. It’s worth 80 million won.”

Jisung choked on his own saliva,

“Woah! That’s seriously expensive! Don’t worry, we’ll find it.”

Hyunjin nodded, the three of them splitting up to look for the ring.

Jisung looked on the outer edge of the stage, Jisung searched closer to the other idols in case it got mixed into the crowd, and Hyunjin scanned the open floor.

“Come on, why’d they use silver confetti tonight.”

Hyunjin shifted through the reflective paper, sighing as he cleared each spot.

“If I were a ring where would I…”

Hyunjin saw it, the silver band; sitting right next to Felix’s foot only a short distance away.

“You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me.”

Hyunjin turned to Jisung and Jeongin, waving them over,

“Hyung! Did you find it!?”

Jeongin asked.

Hyunjin nodded,

“Yeah, one problem.”

Jeongin and Jisung followed his gaze, “oh.”

Felix was leaning against the wall, chatting with Chan; unaware of the ring by his foot.

“So what do we do now? We can’t just pick it up when he’s right there!”

Jisung thought for a moment, then he had an idea.

“What if we all ambush Felix with a group hug!? And then you can pick up the ring while he’s distracted!?”

Jeongin and Hyunjin exchanged a look,

“That’s a dumb idea-“

“But it could work.”

Hyunjin sighed, then he nodded.

“Okay, yeah, yeah it could. Jisung, get the other members. Jeongin, you come with me.”

Jisung nodded, running off to round up the remainder of the Stray Kids members.

Hyunjin took a deep breath, walking over to Felix and Chan.

“Felix!”

Felix lifted his head, smiling softly as he walked over to his boyfriend,

“Hyunjin!”

Hyunjin smiled, pulling Felix into his arms and pressing a soft kiss to his cheek.

“Hey baby, what were you guys talking about?”

Hyunjin looked to Jeongin, who quickly picked up the ring.

Felix pulled away to look at Hyunjin,

“Oh nothing much, I was just talking about what I got you for Christmas.”

Hyunjin smiled, wrapping his arm around Felix’s waist.

“I can’t wait to see what it is. I have a few gifts for you too, baby.”

Jeongin walked behind Hyunjin, dropping the ring into his pocket.

Hyunjin gave a nod of approval,taking a deep breath, he looked at Felix.

“Actually Felix, there’s something I want to ask you.”

Felix’s eyes softened, he nodded.

“You can ask me anything Jinnie, I love you.”

Hyunjin nodded, reaching out to run his thumb over Felix’s cheek.

The freckles that dusted his cheeks stood out even more today, they always did when Felix blushed.

“Felix, I love you; more than I can put into words. There is no one else I would rather be with, you’re the best part of every day; being able to wake up in the morning with you in my arms…it motivates me to be better. Not just for stay, or for Stray Kids, but for you.”

Felix was tearing up now, his hands squeezing Hyunjin’s.

“Hyunjin…”

Hyunjin smiled, reaching out to wipe away the tears that had fallen.

“Felix, I want you to know that I will always love you.”

Hyunjin slowly got down on one knee, reaching into his pocket,

“Felix, will you…”

His fingers slipped, the ring rolling onto the floor in between them. Felix gasped, Hyunjin froze, this wasn’t how it was supposed to happen.

Felix bent down, picking up the ring. The band was shimmering in the stage lights, the rose quartz gem reflecting the light and casting a small rainbow across Felix’s fingers.

“Hyunjin…”

“Felix, will you marry me?”

Hyunjin rushed out, surprising them both.

Felix gasped softly, tears falling down his face freely now.

“Hyunjin…yes…yes I’ll marry you!”

Hyunjin gave a sigh of relief, standing up and pulling Felix into a tight hug.

“Oh! You found the ring!”

Jisung smiled, approaching them with the other members.

“That’s good, it was 80 million won right?”

Felix shrieked, pulling away to look at Hyunjin.

“80 million won!? Yah! Hwang Hyunjin!”

Hyunjin laughed, pulling Felix into his arms once more.

“Baby, you’re worth it.”

Felix sighed, resting his chin on Hyunjin’s shoulder.

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”

The pair separated once again, this time; Hyunjin cupped Felix’s face. Pulling him in for a tender kiss.

The other members immediately hugged them, the group of eight all laughing together.

It may not have gone as planned, but Felix was his fiancé now. And he wouldn’t have it any other way.

~Time Skip~

The next morning, Hyunjin woke up a bit earlier in the morning.

He looked over at Felix, who was still sleeping; wrapped up in a fuzzy white blanket.

“Mornin babe.”

He leaned down to press a kiss to his temple, smiling as Felix hummed in his sleep.

Grabbing his phone, he opened twitter. Immediately, photos of him and Felix flooded the screen, with the captions ‘He said yes!’.

Hyunjin smiled, putting his phone away to pull Felix into his arms once more.

“My angel…”

Was all he said, before closing his eyes once more.

Summary: Gihun returns home from the games, his spirit crushed and his heart torn. His adoptive daughter is just happy he’s returned.

AN: Gihun officially adopted Saebyeok and Cheol after season 1, non-canon rewrite of season 3 ending. In this story it is implied Junhee and Gihun survive. Saebyeok is 19-20 in this since her canon age isn’t confirmed.

Thunder rumbled overhead, rain pouring down in the small neighborhood of Ssangmun-dong. The clouds rolled through slowly, occasionally being illuminated by strikes of lightning.

Gihun walked back to his home, golden card in hand, another 45.6 billion he didn’t need. All he wanted was to get home to his kids, they were probably worried.

Especially Saebyeok.

“Ah right.”

Gihun took his phone out of his pocket, checking the calendar app.

“What’s the date…November 7th..ah!”

He had to refill Saebyeok’s anxiety medication, she’d run out a few days before he’d left.

“Saebyeok’s pills, gotta get those.”

He ducked into a twenty-four hour pharmacy, heading towards the pharmacist desk.

“Excuse me, I have to pick up a prescription for my daughter.”

“Name?”

“Seong Saebyeok.”

The pharmacist packaged the medication, handing over the bag.

“She was here earlier to pick it up herself, she’s underage so it’s not allowed; have to be 21.”

Gihun arched a brow, “she was here?”

The woman behind the counter nodded.

“She looked a little out of it, hopefully she’s okay now.”

Saebyeok? Out of it? He needed to get home now.

His phone vibrated in his pocket, a message from Jun-hee saying she and the baby made it home okay.

“Well that’s good, but my kid needs me.”

Gihun rushed home quickly, unlocking the door to the apartment complex.

“Saebyeok!?”

There was no response, he went to Cheol’s room, opening the door to find his son sleeping in bed.

“He’s asleep…”

He sighed, quickly making his way to Saebyeok’s room.

“Saebyeok?”

Gihun knocked gently, waiting for any sign of movement from his daughter.

Nothing.

“Saebyeok!? Saebyeok, it’s dad!”

He knocked again, waiting a few moments longer this time for a response.

“Sae..”

He opened the door, peeking inside.

Saebyeok was sitting on the floor, her headphones over her ears and her knees drawn up to her chest as she breathed heavily.

“Saebyeok…Saebyeok?!”

Gihun quickly rushed over, carefully removing his daughter’s headphones.

“Hey…Saebyeok…honey I’m home.”

Saebyeok didn’t respond, her chest heaved, eyes squeezed tightly shut as she clutched at her chest to try and calm her racing heart.

Gihun wrapped his arms around her gently, “Saebyeok..baby, you’re having a panic attack. Relax baby, dad’s here.”

Saebyeok relaxed a little in his embrace, breathing still harsh and ragged as she opened her eyes.

Looking around the small room before her eyes landed on Gihun.

“Hey…hey kiddo, you alright?”

He kept his hands on her shoulders, making sure she was fully aware of her surroundings before gently letting go to give Saebyeok room to breathe.

Once her breathing became regular and more steady, Saebyeok spoke; her voice came out hoarsely, “d-dad…dad is that..really you?”

Gihun’s heart ached at the sound of her voice.

“Yes, yes it’s me baby. It’s dad.”

Saebyeok choked out a sob, turning her head to finally look at him.

“I was so worried…I hadn’t heard from you in days and..”

She sobbed again, her head falling against his shoulder.

“Don’t leave me please dad…I need you…”

‘I need you’

Tears welled up in Gihun’s eyes, the words echoing in his head again.

‘I need you.’

Saebyeok needed him.

“I’m sorry baby, I’m home now.”

Gihun’s own tears began to fall, pulling Saebyeok into a tight embrace.

Saebyeok’s fingers clutched onto his shirt tightly, nails almost digging into his skin; but oddly enough, Gihun didn’t mind.

He didn’t mind the tear stains on his shirt, or the grossness of snot being on him.

Saebyeok needed him, and he was there.

“I missed you so much, Dad. I know you were only gone a week but-“

Gihun shushed her, pulling back gently; looking into her soft brown eyes.

“Hey, it’s okay sweetie. It’s okay if you miss me; if you need me. I will always be here for you Saebyeok, you know that right?”

Saebyeok nodded, blinking away more tears.

“Yeah I know, I’m sorry…”

“Stop saying sorry.”

“I’m sorry.”

The two laughed together, Saebyeok sniffling and wiping her eyes with the back of her hand.

“But seriously, I missed you.”

Gihun smiled, nodding as he helped Saebyeok stand up.

“I missed you too, Kid. I was looking forward to coming home everyday just to see that ugly face.”

He teased.

Saebyeok snorted at that, bursting into laughter.

“Yours is pretty ugly too.”

Gihun laughed, ruffling her messy black hair.

“I used to be the most handsome man in Ssangmun-dong!!”

Saebyeok rolled her eyes, sitting down on her bed.

“Oh I’m sure, were you the most charming as well?”

Gihun smiled, helping his daughter get comfortable in bed.

Gently tucking her in, Gihun brushed her hair back.

“I was, that’s how I ended up with your father.”

Saebyeok made a fake gagging sound.

“Inho is not my father, not yet anyway.”

Gihun chuckled, leaning down to kiss her forehead.

“Not yet anyway, get some sleep kiddo.”

Gihun waited for Saebyeok to fall asleep before eventually standing up to leave, walking out of the room and closing the door.

“Good night, Saebyeok.”

Saebyeok smiled in her sleep, shifting a bit under the blankets.

Summary: Suzuka hears playback of her voice at a recent show, she has a panic attack after spiraling into self doubt.

Suzuka was watching back videos of their last concert, scrolling through her private instagram account to view the fans footage.

“The set does look really cool, never imagined it from their perspective.”

She told herself, scrolling a bit more until she found a video of herself.

‘Does Su-Metal sound out of pitch to you guys?’

Out of pitch? Was she out of pitch?

She tapped the video, watching intently. Her eyes glued to the screen and her ears twitching at any indication she might have sounded bad. The song was Megitsune, a song she always found challenging.

“Megitsune is just tricky..I don’t sound bad!”

She tapped another video, Gimmie Chocolate was playing on the video. After Momo and Moa’s part she did notice the slight crack in her voice, swallowing hard.

“Ah…just a fluke! It’s okay!”

Then another video. And another one. And another.

She heard every strained note, every crack in her voice. Some of the footage had her looking a bit frustrated, that she wasn’t hitting the notes.

“What’s wrong with me…”

She asked herself, hands moving through her hair which was down now. Her thin fingers digging into her scalp until it burned, her breathing ragged and heavy. Fifteen years, she’d been a singer for fifteen years.

“Okay…okay…breathe suzuka…breathe!”

She slapped herself, the sting on her cheek not enough to snap her out of her inner turmoil.

‘You sound awful.’ No I don’t. ‘Your singing sucks.’ It doesn’t!

She decided to read the comments, a bad idea for her already racing mind. The first few comments weren’t too horrible, just a few fans defending her.

Stating that she was tired and needed rest.

“Y-yeah..I’m tired. You’re tired Su, you don’t Su-“

Her eyes zeroed in on the comment, her labored breathing hitching.

‘This is supposed to be the legendary Queen Su-metal? What a joke!’

A..a joke? They thought she was a joke?

Suzuka threw her phone down, sprinting to the kitchen sink. She turned the water on in time to vomit.

Her retches echoed in the empty apartment, her hands gripped the edge of the counter as she spit into the sink; watching it all go down the drain.

‘Joke. You’re a joke. Babymetal is a joke.’

Her head was spinning, her heart pounding so loud in her chest she could hear it, her stomach still swirled with negative emotion.

“I put my…heart and soul…into Babymetal.”

She slumped down to the floor, her head hitting the cabinet door.

“Fuck!”

She swore as tears spilled down her face, her head falling forward into her knees; which she hugged to cover her face.

She felt like she was suffocating, like her head was underwater, like she could only see in monochrome colors.

“I’m a bad singer…I failed babymetal…Momo…Moa…”

A sob left her throat.

Thinking about it only made her panic attack worse, she couldn’t breathe. Suzuka was starting to feel dizzy from lack of oxygen getting to her.

She was crying so hard she could barely even hear herself over the blood rushing in her ears.

“Su…Su…Suzuka!?”

Her eyes snapped open, looking up.

“I…”

Moa and Momo stood over her, looking worried. Momo’s already naturally wide eyes even wider as she looked at her friend.

“What happened? what’s going on?”

She tilted her head, her face full of worry.

“I’ve never seen you like this.”

Moa sat on the floor in front of her, momo followed a second layer. Both of them taking Suzuka’s hands in theirs.

“It’s so stupid…I…was watching videos on instagram and-“

“Don’t talk too fast.”

Momo rubbed her back gently.

“Breathe, it’s okay; breathe.”

Suzuka nodded, breathing in; and then out.

In. Out. In. Out.

She could feel herself calming down.

“It’s just, fan comments. I saw someone say they thought my singing sounded rough, and then another said I was a joke.”

Moa shook her head, nearly smacking Momo in the face with her long twin tails.

“No, no, no…you’re not a joke. And who gives a shit what the fans think?!”

“Moa that’s a bit rude.”

Momo laughed a bit but nodded.

“But she’s right, who cares? Do you think you’re a good singer?”

Suzuka nodded, wiping her eyes.

“I guess.”

“I guess isn’t an answer, are you a good singer?”

Suzuka chuckled, sniffling but nodding.

“Hell yeah. I am a good singer!”

Momo and Moa smiled.

“That’s our girl, come here!”

Suzuka laughed softly, allowing herself to be hugged by her friends.

She felt better already, relaxing into her friends embrace.

“Thank you girls…I feel much better.”

Moa and Momo nodded.

“We’re here for you.”

Summary: Saebyeok has nightmares of Sangwoo attempting to kill her, the trauma from the games runs deep and she ends up pushing away her girlfriend. Her gf confronts her…

Saebyeok jolted up in bed for the 4th time that week. Her forehead covered in sweat making her bangs stick to her forehead, her stomach churned, she still saw Sangwoo’s face in her mind. Coming to stab her in the neck, Gi-hun’s blurry figure blocking him to keep her safe.

A hand came over her mouth, clambering out of bed she ran into the bathroom. Leaning over the toilet and breathing deeply.

“Don’t throw up…don’t throw up…don’t throw up…”

She chanted to herself, nausea swirled in the pit of her stomach. Her eyes squeezed shut, once again the look on Sangwoo’s face crossed her mind.

Immediately she gripped the edge of the toilet, burying her face into the bowl as she retched. Vomiting up her dinner from the evening into the toilet.

As she finished up, she felt a cool hand on her warm and sweaty back. A soft voice speaking from behind her,

“Saebyeok, baby what happened? Why’d you throw up?”

Y/n, she’d woken up her girlfriend.

“I’m okay y/n it was just a nightmare.”

She flushed the toilet, standing up and looking at her girlfriend. Y/n could see the unshed tears in her girlfriend’s eyes, she knew Saebyeok wouldn’t let herself cry. Not right now.

“Okay, are you feeling better baby?”

Saebyeok nodded, pushing past her girlfriend to get back into the bed. Laying down despite the queasy feeling still swirling in her stomach.

“You know you can talk to me babe, you don’t have to suffer in silence.”

Her girlfriend got back into bed next to her, of course Saebyeok knew that; but that didn’t mean she was ready to talk about it.

“I know. I’m okay, I feel better after throwing up.”

That was a lie. She still felt queasy and on edge. She wanted to roll over and cry into her girlfriend’s chest, she wanted the nightmares to stop.

“Saebyeok…are you crying?”

Shit. Touching her face Saebyeok realized she was indeed crying, letting out soft sniffles she hadn’t even realized.

“I’m fine I-“

“You’re not fine babe. And that’s okay, you’re allowed to talk to me!”

“Y/n, just leave me alone!”

Saebyeok snapped, turning to face her girlfriend with a stern face.

The two women grew quiet, y/n’s hands clenched at her sides.

“Fine.”

She got out of the bed, walking out of the room as she left Saebyeok laying there in the dark. At first Saebyeok felt at ease being left alone, and then the darkness of the room began to consume her.

“I’m fine…I’m fine…I’m fine…”

Saebyeok tried to go back to sleep, hugging herself tightly. Her hands digging into her arms.

“Y/n….”

She rolled over to seek comfort from her girlfriend, only to find she wasn’t there. Right, she’d wanted that.

Pulling the blanket tighter around herself Saebyeok tried to calm down. It wasn’t working, why wasn’t it working?

Her breathing picked up, chest tightening. She needed y/n, she wanted her to hold her.

Getting out of the bed, she stumbled out of the room. Eyes burning with tears as she looked for her girlfriend.

Eventually she found her making tea in the kitchen, her back to the smaller girl.

“Y/n?”

She turned, her eyes hard; then they softened.

“Saebyeok…oh Sae come here…”

Saebyeok dropped the blanket, running into her arms as she hugged her girlfriend tightly. Tears falling down her face rapidly.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry…I was so scared alone. Don’t leave me alone, please don’t leave me…”

“Shhh, you’re okay baby…you’re okay Sae..”

Y/n’s hands rubbed her back, holding her crying girlfriend.

“I’m sorry I tried to force you to talk to me, I shouldn’t have.”

Saebyeok shook her head, her voice trembling as she spoke.

“N-no…no y/n I need to talk. I need to get this off my chest…”

Y/n nodded, leading her girlfriend to the couch once the tea was done. Handing a mug to the trembling girl.

“What’s bothering you my songbird?”

Saebyeok blushed at that nickname, taking a sip of tea as she let its soothing effects take hold.

“I keep having nightmares…of when Sangwoo tried to kill me, I know I made it out alive but…I’m still so scared, and I see it in my dreams so frequently…I wish it would stop.”

Y/n placed a hand on top of her girlfriend’s nodding that she understood.

“I understand, and I want you to know that he can’t hurt you anymore, and that you are never alone songbird, you have me…you’re safe.”

Saebyeok nodded, feeling much more relieved now.

“Y-yeah…I’m safe.”

Saebyeok finally realized at that moment that all she needed was to open up more.

No more hiding behind a stoic face, she could be open with y/n, she could trust her.

She wasn’t alone, and she didn’t have to be.

The ATEEZ members had had a very successful year, 2024 was their year, Coachella, tour, their first daesang, Mawazine, grand mint, summer sonic, and so much more.

The members had even secured a nomination at the Grammys for best kpop album. Not that they believed they’d win, but the acceleration that came with the award gave the group a happy buzz.

“What if we actually win!? Wouldn’t that be crazy!?”

Wooyoung boasted loudly, sitting against San who was scrolling through instagram trying to find a picture to post.

“If we win it would be a amazing, being able to show off a Grammy award at the company would be nice.”

Hongjoong was adjusting his chest binder in the mirror, his hands tugging at the tight black fabric.

“I think my binder shrunk-.”

A pair of hands grabbed the tight material, tugging it fully down so it sat comfortably on his chest.

“You’re just sweaty darling.”

Seonghwa placed a kiss on his boyfriend’s cheek, making the smaller male hum in satisfaction.

It was no secret, all the members of ATEEZ were openly queer; atiny didn’t seem to mind all that much. And if they did they weren’t very vocal about it.

“You two are such saps.”

Jongho rolled his eyes, earning a snicker from Yeosang who sat beside him.

“You’re just jealous you don’t have a man like mine.”

Hongjoong teased, his arms encircling Seonghwa’s waist.

Jongho scoffed.

“Have you guys seen Yeosang!? He’s the son of Aphrodite herself.”

Yeosang blushed at the compliment, tugging his hoodie strings as a pink tint came to his face.

The other members cooed at Yeosang’s mannerism, he was their baby despite Jongho being the maknae.

“Hyung is right though, it would be nice if we win. Being able to show off a Grammy is a huge flex. Especially since we’d be the first kpop group to win.”

Yunho was sat against the wall, Mingi happily snoozing away in his lap.

Hongjoong hummed, his head finding Seonghwa’s chest.

“I’m scared of the backlash. I won't lie. Especially from BTS’s fans.”

The room went silent. BTS fans were a bit extreme…okay well totally extreme.

Hongjoong had seen the things they did when they didn’t get their way, when their ‘faves’ were snubbed or deserved it more than others.

“It’ll be fine! BTS themselves are great guys, surely they’d stop their fans right?”

Right?

Wooyoung’s words had an ominous feeling to them. Would the members stand against their fandom? Hongjoong himself had scolded atiny a few times. Though nothing major had come of it.

“Yeah,”

Seonghwa squeezed his waist, as if saying ‘we’ll talk later’.

“Anyway, let’s all head home before it rains yeah?”

The members hummed in unison, Hongjoong slung his bag over his shoulder, lacing his fingers with Seonghwa’s as they began to leave the KQ building.

Wooyoung’s words continued to echo in his head.
