When I first heard the song, read the lyrics and then saw a video was announced, i thought it's either going to be really one-dimensional (charicature like) or, as it's Rammstein, hassome sort of twist.

On first watching it seemed the first, loads of boobs, horny old guy chasing the ladies, and plenty of white fluid splashing around. So that's just that? I think there is more to it then just that..

My bet is that the style of videois reminscent of 1970's (and 80's) so called 'Lederhosen movies' (also 'Tirolersex film' or 'Bavarian porn'), a style of campy, humorous sex movie, known for it's good amount of luscious females in the traditional southern German countryside ('Tiroler' for that reason is not the right name, because that's Austria), and pretty bad acting (which only increased the 'camp' value).

Female nudity in a conservative, religious environment, with filmnames like 'Love through the backdoor', 'Love greetings from the Lederhose' or 'Yodeling from under the Dirndl', the films were shocking at the time to older generations, but were seen as liberating to baby-boomers who were born after the second world war, for them the movies embodied the freedom of the sexual revolution. But everything lighthearted, nothing like the various porn you can find on every corner of the internet nowadays. These were the times when people only could watch movies in a cinema (before the invention of the home video player), and billboards to promote the movies were very.

All this happens in the 'Dicke Titten' video, and there's plenty of humor as well, like Horny geezer Till being rebuffed by one of the ladies...

...or trying to grab a bottle to pour himself a Schnaps, and completely missing the glass.

And also, leave that to Jörn Heitmann, some very Rammstein references like young boy trying the Till Hammer..

Boys burning a doll ('Puppe' anyone?), Till giving the boy a pat on the head

...and Frau Herr Schneider behind a set of dogs...(coincidence? i don't think so..)

so far so good, neat reference, bit of humor, light-hearted...if that were all, it would be a nice vid, bit of a laugh...

...but what if you're not fitting in that conservative, traditional society, where what you do and how to behave is the same as everyone else does and the generations before them...where you can't be yourself out in the open, people would talk, would point, laugh, probably expel you from your home and throw you out...and you can only be you hidden away, always on the lookout, anxious that people would find out..

you want to join in with what the others do, but maybe not in the role that everyone thinks you should fulfill

and just like that, this isn't just a one dimensional movie anymore, there is a undertone of oppression, but trying to be yourself when you're on your own.

When i first watched the video i felt Richard should have come out and made out with Till, and while we all would have loved that anyway (and the 'Making of' could easily contain an alternate ending), on second thought, this way it's better, because the storyline brings an edge, a depth to the story that no traditional 'Lederhosen movie' i think ever had...
