The Blog With The Art and Stuff

Their real name is Florence Sharp, and they used to be a botanist / researcher / horticulturist studying all sorts of plants (mainly flowers and their chemical properties, attempting to introduce plants to the trial environments). Eventually they got 'taken in' by Murkoff and they worked as a member of the research team for a good while. They mostly kept to themself (a bit socially awkward, only really interested in talking to people if it was about flowers). Easterman saw promise in their research (hence why they were hired in the first place) and he started to work a little bit more directly with them.

Over time Florence works quite closely with Easterman and Easterman starts to isolate them from the other staff members. Florence one day somehow figures out through someone else that Easterman has innocent people going through 'Trials' and committing atrocities, and they confront him about it. (BY the way. At this point Florence has been in and around the trial environments many many times, and they know it's not normal there.)

The confrontation goes bad, Easterman tries to praise Florence's research, they threaten to burn everything they've worked on that has to do with Murkoff, and they end up saying that they quit. Easterman doesn't let them quit (durr) and he tries to convince them the Trials are actually just therapy for the reagents, and that they're harmless. Florence doesn't believe him, Easterman says he'll stop the Trials immediately if Florence keeps working with him (lie). Florence agrees.

Literally a week later Easterman decides Florence is too 'High risk' and he locks them in a research chamber and blasts them with a bunch of genetically modified hemlock, which gives them chemical-esque burns and effectively blinds them in one eye and messes up their face.Easterman then dumps them in a random trial environment, leaving them for dead. They don't die. They end up living and hiding out in the trial environment for a while, and use their previous knowledge of the environments to move between the trial environments and find food and water to survive. Eventually, they actually manage to sneak back into the sleep room and they start smuggling things (Food, mostly. Sometimes medicine/supplies) into the trials.

They get the hang of living in the trials pretty quick, and they learn how to sneak around without getting caught. Now they start bringing in flowers and start using an abandoned trial environment as a greenhouse/garden area for themself. Eventually they start to lurk around active trials more often, and reagents start to notice them or their flowers. They do things like put poppies on dead reagents, slipping yarrow near injured reagents, helping incapacitated reagents only to disappear before they can say thank you.

They become a sort of myth among reagents, talked about in hushed voices, only referred to as The Florist. At some point they get bolder and start quietly encouraging reagents to rebel against Easterman whenever they are alone with one. Mostly they just lurk and put flowers places. They think Easterman doesn't know about them lurking, he does. He watches them lurk around (though, he gets frustrated when they manage to escape his cameras reach).

Yeah, they basically just sneak around and put flowers in the trials + tell people to rebel.
