I love idioms from different languages.
For example, the phrase “machi marte camman dure” (which I have put in transliteration cus I don’t know what it is in Bangla) means “Using a cannon to kill a fly.”
However, the literal translation of the phrase in that order means “Fly Kill Cannon Bring.”
This train of thought occurred immediately after I heard the phrase and led to the unfortunate incident where my friend talked about something similar and I said “Ah yes, bring in the Fly Kill Cannon” where I was making an inside joke with myself, to the confusion of my friends.
It was beautiful.
