A few days have passed and Rhys has just left the dance studio. And for the next hour, he goes out to eat with Jasper, meets up with Milo real quick until he ends up walking him to his next studio. It's a thirty minute walk from where they are now to where they're going. Not from studio to studio.
"Alright, so I guess I'll see you later?" Milo finally speaks up after the past few minutes of silence.
"Yeah, okay. I'll see you later, Milo." Rhys goes to wave him off when the door to the studio opens, making them both pause. A girl around their age looks between the two boys, and with a lifted brow, she finally talks.
"Who's your friend?"
Rhys glances at Milo for a moment, then back to her. "This..this is Milo." He waves his hand between him and the girl. "Milo, Vi. Vi, Milo."
"Milo, huh. Nice to meet you."
Despite the brief tension between everybody, Milo smiles, holding his hand out politely, and she takes it, greeting him. "Nice to meet you too, Vi. Howβ¦do you know Rhys?"
"Mm..well, you can probably tell we work together." She eyes Rhys, which he looks away, almost nervous. Milo notices this. "We're partners."
"Partners?"
Rhys shakes his head, turning to Milo. "Dance partners. Vi, um, Milo is a barista. He works at the little coffee shop in front of my other studio."
"Ohh, you're a coffee maker, huh? I like that. Maybe I'll come visit you sometime."
"I'd like that! I'm sure you guys have some warming up to do though, so I'll uh, I'll let you go. It was nice meeting you, Vi." Milo turns on his heel and begins to wave at the two, eventually leaving. "Bye!" And then he's gone.
"Soo, Rhys, got yourself a little friend?"
"Let's just go warm up."
Vi smirks and opens the door to the studio again, letting Rhys go on ahead before following.

Rhys gets home about another half hour later, walking in through the doorway and shuffling his feet over his doormat, which, is on the inside. He collapses onto his couch, tilting onto one side to reach his phone in his back pocket before settling further into the seat. He clicks his contactsβ app, mind going blank almost immediately once he sees Miloβs name. His eyes linger on the name for a while, time passing before he can even realize it. Then, he snaps out of it, and clicks the phone next to Jasperβs name.
It rings once.
Twice.
Click.
"Hey, you make it home yet?"
"Yeah, just did a, uh..oh. Twenty minutes ago. Didnβt realize itβs been that long already."
"Doesnβt sound like youβve been there for very long. Howβd your thing with Milo go?"
The line goes quiet for a moment before Jasper speaks up again.
"Rhys?"
He snaps out of it again. "Yeah, sorry. It wentβ¦alright. I guess."
Jasper waits for a moment and responds. "Just alright? Rhys, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I think I just..need some rest."
"You sure?"
Rhys doesn't speak for a moment, but Jasper doesn't push, his sigh crackling from the other side of the phone. "Alright, well.. I'll let you go now. Let me know if you need anything, okay?"
"..Okay. Yeah. I'll- ..I'll talk to you here in a bit. Bye."
"Bye.." Jasper stares down at his phone, a frown on his face. Something is definitely wrong. But if Rhys isn't telling him, he most likely won't for a while. He's always known Rhys to be stubborn, especially with his feelings. His gaze lingers on his contact for a few extra seconds before turning his phone into his palm and clicking the power button, tossing it to the side.
His eyes close. Arms outstretched behind him on the wall of the couch. "I wish he'd just take it easy for once.."
The smell of coffee fills the boysβ senses as they walk into the cafe, Rhysβs shoulders already relaxing again. Milo takes notice, smiling, feeling proud that he was the reason he could relax.
"Would you like something? Iβll buy." He asks, almost too eager. Neither of them had reached their seat yet, and heβs already asking about buying. Milo has always been like this, and Rhys knows exactly why. Milo isnβt exactly..discreet about it either.
"I can buy, Milo. Iβve told you this." Rhys finally sinks down into the cushion of the chair, grabbing the paper menu and never looking up.
"Well- I know. You just never let me. And I have an employee discount, so I can-"
"Milo." His voice cuts through Miloβs easily, rough and direct. It almost spooks the boy. He shakes his head with a sigh, the energy between the two now uncomfortable and draining. "Listen, I know youβre just trying to be nice. I donβt mean to sound rude, I just donβt want you constantly asking questions you already know the answer to."
Milo freezes, completely still for a brief moment before eventually nodding slowly and shrinking into the seat beside him, in front of Rhys. "Right. Youβre right. I,β He pauses, finding the words. "Iβm sorry. I shouldnβt keep asking. Iβm just..so excited to see you sometimes. I donβt know what to say."
Rhys sits there for a moment, they both do in complete, awkward silence. "I get it." He finally speaks up, looking into Miloβs eyes to make sure his point is getting across. "Really, I do." Itβs not working. Not quite.
"I know you do, Rhys.."
"Look, um..here, Iβll- Iβll let you buy me something this one time. Anything you like-"
"Rhys, it..itβs okay, really. You donβt have to-"
His smile doesnβt quite reach his eyes, but he smiles nonetheless. "Thank you.." He says, words drawn out and tired, but no less appreciative. The time passes quickly as they begin to feel a little more comfortable again. They both stand to leave, stopping by the door. Rhys speaks up.
"Hey, let me make it up to you. My competition is next week, you should come watch." He watches as Miloβs eyes begin to sparkle, even just the faintest glimmer.
"I..think I'd like that." But the color fades as he realizes. "No..nonono, ughh!!"
"What, what is it?"
"I can't come. I- ..Iβm sorry, I have work. I can't call off, my schedulesβ already made. I would, god, I really would.."
"Milo, itβs okay." Rhys starts, and itβs almost like he doesnβt even care until he continues. "Itβs gonna be recorded. So you can watch it whenever. And itβs live, so you might be able to have it on the tv here?"
The cool air whips around Jasper and Rhys as they step outside. Rhys sighs, closing his eyes, but he can feel Jasper's gaze linger on him.
"See something you like, Jas?" He questions, lip quirking up as he waits for his response, eyes still closed.
"How couldn't I?" He turns to face the white haired boy, fingers twitching at his side as he shrugs his coat on. He finally gives in and lets his hand come up to tug a strand of hair behind Rhysβs ear. He opens his eyes, but he doesn't speak. Just silently acknowledges the movement.
"So. Where to, Rhys?"
He looks up, but not at Jasper, seeing the door to the cafe in front of the studio open. His eyes follow the movement, noticing someone familiar leave. Before he can respond, the boy from the cafe quickly crosses the street, calling out to him.
"Hey Rhys!" He smiles, but the way he briefly glances at Jasper with that slight annoyance in his eyes and then back to him speaks volumes. "Jasper.."
"Hello to you too, Milo." Jasper crosses his arms before eyeing Rhys again.
"I'm on break right now. You?" Miloβs voice carries in the wind, soft enough that you can barely hear it.
"Yeah." Rhys responds, but not as eagerly as Milo likes. He doesn't mind it though. They're not exactly..friends. They just know each other well. "We were gonna eat lunch."
"Oh! Would..um.." He looks at Jasper, who just shakes his head, already knowing the question before Milo can say it.
"I'll be on my way then." He looks to Rhys. "Hey, uh, text me when you get back later, okay? I'm just gonna head on home."
"..Right. Okay, yeah, I will."
"So..would you like to grab lunch with me?" Milo starts again, but Rhys is still watching Jasper walk away.
"Sure,β He looks back to Milo with a small smile. He wants to try to look friendly at least. "How's your mom? She doing alright?"
Milo nods, and they begin walking back to the cafe, making small talk. They've known each other their entire childhood, they were just never friends. You see, their mom's knew each other in college, and they were great friends. But when they had Rhys and Milo meet for the first time, it wasn't the same. They were too different. One was shy, and would barely talk. And the other was passionate and outgoing. They could get along if they talked, but they rarely ever did. That was the problem.
Just as the music ends, his knees buckle, but Jasper, his partner, catches him. Doesnβt let him fall too far. It's a practice they've been rehearsing for three weeks now, and will be for another one and a half.
βYou alright?β He asks, briefly letting Rhys go but when he nods and still wobbles, he places his hand on his shoulder to keep him steady. βYouβre pushing yourself too hard again.β
βIβm alright, Jas. Just been working hard these past few days.β
βYeah, overworking.β
βJasper.β Rhys whines, but Jasper doesnβt smile this time. He always smiles.
βRhys.β He counters, his voice reproachful. βTake a break.β Rhys rolls his eyes but carefully nods in choice of words. Jasper lets his hand slip from his shoulder before stepping back to create space.
βAlright.β He moves to sit down, but before he gets the chance, Jasper speaks up again.
βHelp me stretch?β
βThought you said not to push myself..?β
βYes, I did. But you'll be pushing me.β He says, matter of factly, like his usual self. Rhys is glad to hear it.
βI see, I see.β He moves back to Jasper, who sits in the floor with his legs drawn out in front of him, his hands below the bend of his knees. As Rhys pushes him further down, Jasper grunts as his hands slide further down his legs and closer to his ankles.
A few minutes later, Jasper shrugs Rhysβs hands off of his back carefully. He quickly drops his hands and switches their positions to rest on his hips. βGiving up so soon?β
Jasper snickers, leaning back on his palms to stare up at Rhys, his green eyes crinkling at the corners as he smirks up at him. βRight.β He mocks, voice drawling as he grabs the bar and pulls himself up. βWe're going to lunch.β
βYou can eat after that?β
βYou couldn't?β He says, quick witted. Rhys just sighs and nudges his shoulder to follow by his side.

Sweat dripped off his chin. Music pounding, echoing through the room. It's stressful, one might say. But to him, this isn't anything at all. The rhythmic tapping of everyone's feet against the cold tile synchronized with his just enlightened him. Made him work harder. Dance freer. Rhys had always been this way. Expressive, dedicated.. he was so many things.
The music was loud in his ears, but it's quiet for everyone else. It always played louder to him. He made it clear to himself and to all of the other dancers that he remained dedicated to his work. And if he fell, he would get back up and continue the dance like nothing ever happened.
He slicked his sweat-soaked hair back, tousling his hair. His black uniform even darker now as it clings a little tighter to his skin. He huffs, out of breath as he tries to catch back up to it. He's always been one to overwork himself, but frankly, he liked to. This wasn't just his dream he was playing out, he did this for others too. His mother, whose always had an interest in dance but never was able. His father who did dance, but now continues in his memory. And the people who would watch him perform. They mattered to him. More than the dance itself. More than what he put himself through to even learn that dance.
I don't know how much interaction this gets, but I just want somewhere to post my story where people are going to see it, and I don't do whatsapp or wattpad.
But let's get started!
Hi! My name is Ellis, I also go by Elias. I go by any pronouns, but typically prefer he/him or they/them. I am 18 and a Hellenic (Greek) Pagan, and a witch. I am also polytheistic, meaning I believe in any and all gods, but I personally only worship the Greek gods. I will not judge you for your beliefs and religions unless they are disrespectful and promote harm upon me or my communities.
And to introduce my story, Memories in Motion, I have been working on it since early 2023 and had the original, ever-changing idea, in early 2021.
I will not disclose the original idea, that's only for me and my friends to know until further notice.
Memories in Motion is a story about a dancer who loses his memory and has help from his ex-lover and one-sided friend to assist him in recovering. It has six characters, but only five are more apparent in the story.
I will be doing regular updates for the first few weeks, but once what I have is completely updated, the updates may be inconsistent to a point because I have underlying health issues that will keep me from working on Memories in Motion. But this story is way too important to me to completely drop.
I do NOT accept criticism unless consented upon asking. But I will always accept questions about my characters or story out of genuine curiosity.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for your interest. The first update will be July 1st.
the aforementioned Jack Mercer tattoo list (insights/feedback are appreciated)
first of all the movie is on netflix (at least in the US) in much higher quality which is how I got these screenshots and stuff. All screenshots (except for one promo pic of the heart tattoo) are from the bathroom scene if you want to sneak a peek yourself (you should. just. you'll thank me later. it's hilarious and Jack is GORGEOUS.) For those of you who are new to the rabbit hole, we're talking about Jack Mercer from the movie Four Brothers (2005):
he's a 6'3 traumatized punk/rock guitarist btw
anyway, I was able to ID some of his tattoos, but others I've got no clue on and unless we get or figure out new information I'm assuming the rest are subject to headcanon (which means we can do a lil show and tell where we yap about what tattoos we think he has!!! yippee!!!)

Jack finally asks you the question that's been on his mind for a while.
Jack Mercer x f!reader
Warnings: FLUFF FLUFF FLUFF, mentions of injury/death
All of my Jack fics are connected and have the same reader, so if you want to read about their first meeting (as mentioned several times in this one), check out my Jack masterlist!
After a long day away from home, Jack entered your shared apartment, a paper grocery bag cradled in his free arm. Even though you should've been home by then, you were nowhere to be seen. But he quickly noticed the faint sound of the shower running and the humming of a tune he couldn't quite place.
Jack closed the door behind him and locked the deadbolt before walking over to the bathroom and poking his head in the open door. He could see your silhouette through the curtain, and he would've been a liar if he said he wasn't tempted to join you. "I'm home, gorgeous. Gonna start on dinner."
You peeked out from behind the curtain, soapy bubbles clinging to your skin as you gave him a stunning smile. "I'll be out in a few minutes!"
Jack grinned right back, then headed to the kitchen, putting the bag down on the counter and propping his cane up against the wall so he could pull out everything he'd picked up for your night in. A few rental DVDs, the ingredients for a nice dinner, and a tub of ice cream. But those weren't the only things he'd picked up that day.
After months of saving up every extra penny from his job at the factory, Jack had finally been able to buy you a ring.
The idea of marrying you had been on his mind for a while, and you'd even talked about it once or twice. Then his Mom was killed, and Jack nearly died, too. It made the fact that neither of you would be there forever that much more real. But he didn't want to propose without a ring, so he had to wait until he was healed, then wait even longer as he scraped the money together.
Hearing that the water was still running, Jack took the little velvet box from the pocket of his jacket and opened it. It wasn't the biggest, most expensive ring in the worldβthough he would buy you that in an instant if he couldβbut when he saw it, he knew it belonged on your finger. While he intended to wait the few weeks until Halloween, the night the two of you first met, he just wasn't sure he could be patient enough for that now that he had the ring.
You turned the water off, and Jack quickly shoved the box back into his pocket before tossing the ice cream into the freezer. And he shrugged off his jacket so he could casually start on dinner as if he didn't have an engagement ring weighing on his mind.
He was mincing garlic when you finally came out of the bedroom, dressed in a big t-shirt and some old comfy sweatpants. He gave you a smile and turned back towards the cutting board. "How was work?"
"Oh, you know..." You walked over and wrapped your arms around him from behind, resting your head against his back. "Some nice customers and some not-so nice customers, the usual. I'm just glad to be home." The diner you waitressed at wasn't the most glamorous, and it definitely didn't pay as well as your job back in New York, but it was enough. At least until you could find that elusive art teacher gig.
"Me, too."
"Did practice go okay?"
"Yeah. We're still working on the new song." One good thing that came out of nearly dying in the snow was that it had at least given him some new inspiration for music. "I think it'll be ready for the show next Friday."
"I can't wait to hear it with the whole band."
Knowing that he was able to properly play again meant a lot to you. Even though your worlds had seemed to go still for a while after his near death, everyone else kept moving, including his old band in New York. They couldn't wait around for him to get better, and that had been one of the factors that led to the both of you deciding to stay in Detroit. Over the last few months, he'd luckily been able to assemble a new band.
You peeked around him and finally looked at the ingredients he had out on the counter. "Ooo, alfredo...Have I told you lately how grateful I am that you know how to cook?"
Jack chuckled, remembering how you'd tried to cook for him early in your relationship and ended up starting a fire in your kitchen. Cooking was more his strong suit than yours. He'd spent quite a bit of time in the kitchen with his Mom, and now that she was gone, it was a nice way to remember her.
"I picked up a couple of movies," he said, nodding towards the cases he'd placed over on the coffee table.
You let go of him and made your way over to the living room to investigate, picking up the DVDs, the covers of each telling you without a doubt that they were scary movies.
While Jack didn't always do so well with real-life violence, he did like horror movies, and luckily, you enjoyed them, too. Even if you didn't, you would've happily taken the excuse to hold onto your boyfriend even tighter. And that was exactly what you were doing as the end credits rolled on the first film.
"I'm gonna go outside and smoke," Jack said, gently squeezing your arm. There was a no smoking rule in the apartment building, and even with the chill fall weather, he never really minded taking it out to the balcony.
"I'll swap the movies out and get us some dessert." You gave him a kiss on the cheek, making his face flush as you got up from the couch.
Jack picked the plates from the coffee table and dropped them off in the sink, then threw on his jacket, opening the window to climb through. He quickly closed it again, the air biting at his face as he took out a cigarette and lit it up. He sat down on the metal and looked out over the neighborhood, ignoring the ache the cold caused in his legs and shoulder.
When he shoved his hands into his pockets, he felt that little velvet box again, glancing back into the apartment before taking it out. He had a plan, but as the diamond and silver glittered in the city lights, his resolve weakened even more. He always felt like he'd been waiting for you his whole life, and waiting another few weeks to put that ring on your finger seemed more and more torturous.
Smoke blew from Jack's nose and mouth as he looked in through the window, watching as you walked from the living room to the kitchen, looking happy as could be about spending your evening together.
He knew he should've waited a little longer to pick the ring up.
"Fuck."
Inside, you took two bowls from the cabinet and two spoons from the drawers, and as you opened the freezer to grab the ice cream, you heard the window slide open and shut again. "That was quick. Do you want caramel sauce on yours? I think we still have sβ"
When you closed the freezer and turned in his direction, you expected to see him shrugging off his jacket, his hair mussed and cheeks pink from the night air. And while the latter was true, you were surprised when you found him on one knee, a diamond ring in hand, as he looked up at you with those loving blue eyes.
It took a moment for all of it to click in your brain, but you still couldn't speak. Sure, the two of you had talked about it before, you just thought it was way down on the priority list while he was recovering. Apparently, Jack felt differently.
"There was a whole plan, but I couldn't keep waiting." He gave you that grin that always made your heart so full. "Meeting you...It changed everything. I never thought I'd find the girl of my dreams and have a life like this." Jack reached out and took your hand. "I wanna spend the rest of our lives together and keep trying to make you as happy as you make me."
Tears were already escaping down your cheeks as you smiled down at him. "I want that, too."
"So, you'll...you'll marry me?"
Two years ago, you wouldn't have hesitated to tackle him to the floor and kiss him like your life depended on it. But you'd gotten so used to treating him carefully since his injury, and it was still taking some time to get out of that habit. Jack didn't complain, though, when you dropped down to his level and pulled him in by his jacket, your lips eagerly meeting his. You broke away with a sweet smile.
"Absolutely."
Jack stood and helped you to your feet, and his hands shook a bit as carefully slid the ring on your finger. "Love you."
"I love you, too." You threw your arms around his neck, and he hugged you back without hesitation. "What was this plan you had?"
"I was gonna wait to do it on Halloween. Because it'sβ"
"The night we met." Your heart swelled with even more love as you smiled at the memory of that October evening. Who would've thought you'd end up here? "Well, we could always just get married on Halloween."
His thumb gently brushed your back through the fabric of your shirt, and you could see the gears turning in his head. "Think we could plan something that fast?"
You laughed in disbelief. "Wait, you're talking about getting married this Halloween..."
"Yeah," he said as if it was the most obvious thing.
"The one that's in two weeks?"
"I'd go to the courthouse with you first thing in the morning if that was what you wanted." Of course, he knew you deserved much better than that, and your families probably wouldn't be too happy about being left out. But if you said the word, he'd do it in a heartbeat.
His sincere blue eyes burned right into yours, and his warmth radiated through to your bones. Your sweet Jack Mercer. The one who had stumbled into your life and never left, even when he came so close to being ripped away. By some miracle, he wanted to be with you forever. To be your husband.
Suddenly, you weren't sure you could wait much longer either.
"Two weeks...I think we can manage that."
With a few favors called in by his brothers, you and Jack were married that Halloween in a little church near the old Mercer home.
Practically the whole neighborhood was gathered in Jerry and Camille's backyard that afternoon, eating and chatting and celebrating the two of you. Your dad talked to Jerry and Camille, while your mom gushed to Bobby about his short-lived NHL career. In the corner, Sofi and Angel bickered about when they would be getting married. Daniela and Amelia ran around with all the other kids, still in their cute flower girl dresses.
And beside you, arm wrapped around your waist and the tie he'd reluctantly worn hanging undone at his neck, was your husband.
In spite of everything going on around you, his focus was solely on you and the pretty white dress you wore. He'd went weak at the knees the moment he saw you walking down the aisle, so much so that his brothers had to remind him to relax.
Holy shit.
You were his wife now.
Jack grinned at you as you took a sip of your beer, and you raised your eyebrow. "What?"
"I'm happy is all." He pulled you in a little closer, which you didn't mind in the chilly air. "I just got married to my dream girl."
"I'm happy, too." You sighed in contentment and leaned further into him. "I love you so much."

I'll be doing each character individually and may update them as I work on the story.
List of all current character names:
- Rhys
- Milo
- Jasper
- Vi
- Sid
Let's start with our main character.
Rhys Miller
Pronunciation: Rees, rhymes with 'piece' or 'niece'.
Rhys is 21 years old. His birthday is April 21, 2004 and will be turning 22 this coming Tuesday!
**In the story, he'll be staying as 21 until he has a written birthday.
Sexuality: Gay
Occupation: Swing / Hip Hop Dancer
Rhys has undiagnosed adhd and is more of the "stern" type of character.
In the story, he loses his memory through an accident and has to have the people in his life help him recover it. And with no fault of his own, he's not exactly on great terms with any of them.
I don't have a lot written about his personality, I have more info on my tablet which is..not available right now. But I'll make a sequel to this post.

All other art is mine, despite the constant changing of the art style
A small, unfinished animation also by me!!
I never finished it because I accidentally deleted a layer which had the primary design on it, so I never went back to fix it.
I'll be posting pictures of art I've done of each character and writing a little bit about them as basic character sheets for now until I can finish drawing them out, some may have picrews attached, I will add the links and credit further into the description.

Working on character sheets for Memories in Motion!!
It's gonna take a while and honestly may go unfinished for a bit knowing myself, but I'll be posting some of the character work I've done soon along with some art that I've done of them.
But I'm no longer working on the meta analysis for Good Omens
I do hope to maybe finish it someday, but perhaps that day will never come.
HOWEVER, I do have a purpose for my return.
I'm writing a story!!
I've been working on this for a few years now and have actually restarted it this year with a better plot line and want to introduce it to YOU.
ON Instagram (@)myth1c_art
There, you can see more about my characters, but I will definitely post more here as well in an upcoming post.
So ...what's the story about and what am I doing with it?
One. It's about a dancer who loses his memory, in which his ex and his "friend" come together to help him recover it. It's a queer drama and romance that's a little on the bittersweet side, where they all learn through the hardships of their lives, and helping someone remember theirs.
..and Two. As said previously, I am working on this story and will be posting updates on here, but that's not all! I've also been planning on making a mini series for everyone to get to know the characters. It'll come to you as a comic outside of the primary plot and more of their daily lives instead. It will introduce things that could be canon, could have happened instead, and complete plot twists you would never have imagined!
I hope you're interested, so stay tuned for Memories In Motion. Coming soon π
