What if theyāre literally pulling a Henry Creel.
What I mean by that is in the first flashback of the Creel house, they barely focused on Henry at all. You barely get more than 2 shots of his face and they donāt mention him having nightmares or visions.
Then later we get the full picture and his involvement and all the details.
What if theyāre imploring the same misdirection technique, not focusing on Willās point of view really whatsoever in terms of the over arching story but when the time is right theyāll just spill all the beans, showing us all these different events in new context from Willās point of view
Thatās a fair point. The Duffers do like parallels.
Do you think Vecna will try to pull aĀ āWeāre not so differentā with Will? I wouldnāt mind that so long as Will resists. I donāt want them making the gay teen pining over his friend into a villain.
Iām almost positive Will will get the ājoin meā speech but thereās no way Will is turning evil. Heās a good boy deep to his core. All the parallels Iāve made between Will and Henry is not to say Will will become like Henry or that heās evil, theyāre the same but opposite. Foils.
I donāt expect a repeat of season 2 where heās straight up possessed and is forced to betray his friends, but I can imagine a scenario where heās fighting off the influence of Vecna/the Upside Down because he is irreversibly connected to it as the Duffers and marketing keep reiterating.
I want all of this to be leading to Will being the major important piece in defeating the Upside Down/Vecna but weāll see. What better way to take out the villain that with someone exactly like them. Minus the evil.
I do agree that it would be a repeat of season 2 if Will got possessed/turned evil again.Ā
Iām partial to my own theory of the Mindflayer being Willās dark side that he has to accept as part of himself to become whole (as Brenner told El). Once he does, heāll gain his powers. That might be too much to fit into season 4, though.
Guess weāll see, but we wonāt get answers till season 5 most likely. In fact Iām not expecting anything from Will in season 4 now. The Duffers and Noah himself seem to be saying all the answers about Will are coming NEXT season.
