Shark Week.
They say you should say I love you to someone for the first time, not during a super high or incredibly low moment...but an every day, average time or emotion. Love should be something you feel consistently, not just during one exclusive moment.
It was during Shark Week this time last year, as I sat in his arms watching the latest Shark Week episode, that I looked into his eyes and realized what truly strong emotions I felt for him. How ready I was to say the three words that I had always wished to say to someone for so long. To say something in a way that describes a feeling so much different and more unique than the love for a close friend or family member.
"Hey, I know it's Shark Week and all, but I just wanted to tell you... I love you."
And, I will never forget how beautiful life and love felt at that moment.
I will never forget how vulnerable, but safe and secure I felt at that moment.
Of course, life takes unexpected turns though and things can change within days, weeks, months, or years. And it could be days, weeks, months, or years from now, until I can feel that way again or feel comfortable enough to say it to someone again.
But loveΒ willΒ come again.Β
Because love ... love is all around us! I am so grateful and happy that I have such a moment to look back on now, and to know that I could evenΒ feelΒ such feelings. Yes, time heals as much as it can, and then, it is up to me to take the next step from there.Β
And for now, all I can end with is, "Hey, Happy Shark Week." :)
