The Mystic Gems

Hello everyone, sorry for the long wait but I’ve finally got some things done in order for me to post. I had planned for at least on illustration panel to accompany each chapter and even this prologue but I came across some issues. Anyways, here’s the official prologue for the GRAF story, taking place a short while after the war for the Earth thousands of years ago.

Meet Sunfire Quartz, GRAF’s line cook!

Sunfire is an outgoing gem who has an amazing personality. He was an off color quartz soldier but he managed to make the best of himself when he became a rebel. Sunfire knows how to cook many popular human dishes and enjoys the culinary world, he even teaches some cooking lessons. Sunfire is like a cool dad who may seem cringy at times but he’s actually a pretty nice guy. Sunfire spends his time on missions productively and is always on the moves, taking almost no breaks.

Meet Moonstone, GRAF’s pacifist! 

Moonstone is a friendly gem who escaped from her Sunstone owner during the war for Earth. She’s a hard working gem who’s always on missions and spends her free time with her fellow gems. She has a pastel aesthetic and loves decorating and anything abstract or weird. Moonstone is fascinated by what humans do as she finds it curious. She particularly enjoys human music and is often seen at concerts for various artists. Finally, when she has some alone time, she spends it on meditation and cleansing in order to keep her cool.

Moonstone has an aura-like ability which can light her body or she can collect it in front of her to create a shield. She doesn’t really have a weapon, so she fights with a yoyo created for her in order to trap enemies from afar. She doesn’t typically fight corruptions or other gems and instead tries to capture them so her allies would be able to deal with them, but if she’s alone and has to she also has a chakram to fight with. 

Meet Rhodolite, GRAF’s tough gal!

Rhodolite is an off colored scout/foot soldier who emerged bigger than the others in her kindergarten. So since that time she was always an outlaw who learned to fight and escape the planet she was in, finding her way to the Earth, just in time for the rebel war. Rhodolite is a tough, sassy gem who fights for what she believes in even if she uses reckless tactics or the task is impossible. She spends a lot of her time training or on missions with her allies. She’s not really a talker and believes actions speak louder than words. 

Rhodolite uses a pink flamed energy to fight and enhance her body during battle, and she uses a huge mallet almost half the size of her body to fight. She typically charges her pink energy into the mallet to create more powerful impacts that can defeat an enemy in one move. 

Meet Zircon, GRAF’s brain!

Zircon is an extremely intelligent gem who became a technician, scientist, and a total handyman. He’s always stuck inside his lab creating new equipment or studying new things. He seems to be indifferent when it comes to the other gems, but he has a good heart and would do anything to help his friends. Zircon knows every human language and sometimes uses phrases from them when he feels a certain way.

Zircon doesn’t fight alone, but when he has to, he’s prepared. He always has about 1000 what if scenarios planned beforehand every day, and gadgets or things that’ll help him within his gem. He fights with multiple weapons, but his favorites are a scythe and a blaster. Zircon’s aesthetic is hexagons because they interest him and are quite rare in nature. He uses screens made of light hexagons to create shields, platforms to walk, or structures.

Meet Tektite, GRAF’s influencer

Tektite is a big gem who enjoys being lazy and spending time eating foods from around the world. He runs a youtube channel where he films vlogs and mukbangs, and these mukbangs are small car mukbangs, he brings a bunch of food and eats it in about an hour. Even if he’s lazy, he’s proud of who he is and enjoys spending time with humans to learn more about their cultures. He’s proud to have fought for the earth and will always be willing to risk it all for the world. Tektite gets along with most of the GRAF gems but they typically complain to him about his laziness, but it doesn’t seem to bother him

Tektite has dual pickaxes as a weapon which he uses to fight with gems or dig, which he can do very fast. He has a rock manipulation ability which allows him to move around rock as he pleases. He cannot move concrete so whenever he has to fight in a city or town he has to break through the concrete to reveal the rock below. He’s a heavyweight gem who has studied wrestling moves throughout the ages so he has options during battle. 

Meet Heliodor, GRAF’s powerhouse! 

Heliodor is a huge, strong gem who’s may look intimidating, but he’s actually a big softie! He loves spending time with his allies and is always going on missions with everyone since he wants to make sure everyone stays safe and away from danger. However, he may not be the smartest, but at least his hearts in the right place and he has some of the best judgement out there. 

Heliodor uses light energy from sunlight or his body to enhance his physical abilities, so as long as he’s stored up energy or is outside during the day, he’s unstoppable. He uses a ball as his weapon which he uses to kick at his enemies, combining his light energy onto the kick and the ball to create some explosive attacks. He’s an excellent fighter in general which makes it hard to defeat him, which his allies applaud him for.

Meet GRAF’s backbone, Yellow Pearl, Green Pearl, and Pink Pearl

These three Pearls were saved by Turquoise from their Homeworld owners during the war, and they now help her run GRAF! Additionally, the Pearl’s in our GRAF universe develop powers based on their personalities! So let’s get to our first gem.

Big sister Yellow Pearl.

She’s an intelligent gem filled with so much potential! Yellow adores Turquoise and respects her very much, but that’s one of her biggest faults. If she can manage to become truly independent then she’ll be able to unlock her true potential! But when she’s not clinging to Turquoise, she exceeds at task managing and makes sure to correctly organize and communicate with her team in order for missions to go perfectly. 

Yellow Pearl’s personality has awoken her telepathic abilities which allow her to contact her allies within a wide range. She doesn’t have a weapon, but as long as she’s with other allies or her fellow Pearl’s they’re unstoppable!

The cool sister, Green Pearl!

Green Pearl loves to create and fly ships! She typically doesn’t spend time in the GRAF base since she’s out patrolling the skies as high as she can! She also loves racing humans in jets and can’t stop boasting about her unbeatable record. She enjoys tinkering with ships to improve them in any way she can, and occasionally causes big messes that the other gems complain about, but she always fixes them with ease. 

Green Pearls personality has awoken her telekinetic abilities which allow her to pick up many objects to ease her job in ship building and many other uses. Just like her ships, she has incredible movement speed which allows her to escape the enemy’s gaze in an instant. She had special electrifying gloves made for her to fight with as well, which she hardly uses, but whenever she does it’s almost impossible to stop her!

The fashionista, Pink Pearl! 

Pink Pearl is a stylish, sassy gem who enjoys creating art and beautiful outfit designs! She’s always up to date with the latest style and trends that the humans come up with, and if she doesn’t like it, then she creates her own style. Pink loves all things beautiful and cute, and she’s always thinking of ways to better them as well. However, she becomes uneasy around messes or asymmetrical things, which decreases her concentration on other tasks at hand. 

Pink Pearls personality has awoken her ability to manipulate threads of light that makes up gem clothing. This does not work on human clothing since it’s not made of light. She uses her ability to restrain gems who may be causing trouble by tightening their clothing, or she can completely change its style, but it changes the color to her own palette. 

Meet Larimar. GRAF’s diva!

Larimar is a sassy, conceited gem who prefers to look after himself before others. He loves teasing the other gems and often creates arguments among the team, but don’t let his messy personality fool you, deep down he’s a softie for humans and would risk it all for the Earth. He typically spends time alone unless he finds a mission interesting, or sees a gem who he hasn’t messed with in a while. The gems don’t know much about Larimars past since he doesn’t really talk about such things, and prefers to know about others’ struggles. 

Larimar can create mist/fog from water in the atmosphere, but depending on which area of the world he’s in affects the thickness of his power. He doesn’t have a weapon, so he relies on a staff created for him which is able to destabilize corrupted gems, or shock other beings. Larimar studies his enemy as well in order to know how to defeat them with style, which typically drags out his fights so others’ll come watch his since he loves the attention. However, they usually get interrupted by his allies when they see he’s simply toying with the enemy.

Meet Tschermigite, GRAF’s sponge!

Tschermigite is a very calm and collected gem, which allows him to keep his cool under tremendous pressure. This helps his team during battle or just any bad time as he thinks of ways to solve an issue while others may be panicking. His speed and fighting capabilities make him one of GRAF’s best gems, and the gems adore him for always looking out for everyone. 

Tschermigite uses boomerangs as a weapon which allows him to attack his targets from afar so he wont be noticed, but when the time comes for close combat he uses his electrical ability and speed to out do the enemy. So even though he’s small, it’d be best not to underestimate him!
