This is a follow up to the Special Hatchling comic Poor little Feldspar is very, very sick. Their last chance is to get to the hot springs at the snowy geysers. But outside, the storm is raging... Let me explain a bit of the lore here! Due to their origins, I think Hearthians react positively to hot water. Not only do they enjoy traveling to hot springs near the big geysers to relax there (Sometimes the whole village go at the same time, fun vacations), but I also like to believe that despite not fully absorbing water through their skins like frogs would, hot spring water would still be good for their health. So sometimes, when a Hearthian is very sick, we place them in hot water with a bunch of medicinal herbs, and let them stew in basically a bath of herbal tea. That will not only help them heal, but also relieve them of the discomfort. I think I really enjoyed drawing young Tektite here. And I also wanted to etablish a bit of a relationship between them and Gneiss. I like the idea that they were interested in each other at some point of their life, so seeing Gneiss being so sad about this runt would probably motivate Tektite to help them. Also, introducing Beryl! Once again, they're not very important. They're basically the previous generation's Tektite. Back when exploring was a little more dangerous due to the Ghost matter, Beryl tended to be the less scared one to walk around in unknown territory. Also note: Feldspar is a toddler here. They're in the stage where they can make simple sentences, but that's it. They've been sick for a good while already. But after that, they'll get less and less sick, and after a few year, will start thriving! I guess that vision of the night sky helped them more thant the hot bath!
