So I just got back from seeing Guardians of the Galaxy and I'd love to know who thought it was funny to have a main character we're supposed to root for call Zoe Saldana's character a whore in service of a cliched joke. Lazy writing's bad enough but can't we try and avoid having it be misogynistic as well. 

I was gonna write a big thing but then realised I didn't actually have much to say beyond the fact that I find it really interesting that at the moment there is so much TV dealing explicitly with death, grief, religion and the ways they intersect. Les Revenants (my favourite show that I watched last year. Also called The Returned - seriously go watch it! - it's super engrossing and not depressing like that description made it sound) and its future American remake, Resurrection, The Leftovers and even The Walking Dead all deal with the ways people cope with grief. Anyway I wonder why all of a sudden there are so many people writing about this now.
