I find it hypocritical that fans complain when a company makes a darker skin character look slightly pale (whether it be for lighting for a different style like World of Winx or say a toy because a toy’s coloration can’t be spot on), they say it’s racist and white washing, but then fans will make a pale character darker and think it’s okay. I don’t mean slightly tan, I mean dark! Like switching cultures! Totally different skin!

Yes, people with pale skin also victims of racism before you say anything! Most people of Asian cultures especially Japan and China have very pale skin. That’s why anime characters are often pale especially if the series takes place in Japan! Also Asian Americans often get the shaft. They’re ignored! I’m Asian American, I know this!

Let’s not forget how many people hate Irish and Polish folks. They’ve had a huge history of racism against them!

Not all Latin American people are dark skin either. Some are very pale. Jhonen Vazquez is Hispanic (creator of Invader Zim) and he’s pale as a sheet yet people probably wouldn’t believe it, because so many people assume all Latin Americans are dark skin.

I really despise fans that say the Winx are gay despite they have boyfriends. Yes, their relationships of some of them aren’t written very well, but clearly they would sacrifice their lives for each other. Shoot, Nabu did! The Winx don’t act like their in love with each other, unless you think girls can’t be best friends without being lesbians?

I despise this for two reasons. One, people would flip out if someone dare make an already gay character straight (Such as YurixVictor and UtenaxAnthy) even for fan art, yet it’s okay to make a straight character that has a lover gay? That logic is so backwards! Gay is fine if the characters are already written like that.

Second, that kind of attitude reminds me of the time I was forced on by a lesbian when I was 18, saying my boyfriend I’ve been dating for years was trash and I would eventually like girls. It does happen, people no matter what sex or gender can force themselves onto another. It’s wrong.

Even if it’s fictional, it still feels wrong and hypocritical since gay people should know how it feels to be forced into being something you’re not. They’re not your characters either and don’t even act like you wouldn’t be upset if someone took your own character and made them into something they’re not to full fill their fantasies.

Compare the real sweet relationships of UsagiXMamoru, HarukaXMichiru in the manga, as well as BelleXBeast in the original Beauty and the Beast, shoot even  CocoXNozomi with any of “love relationship” in Kira Kira and you will see what I mean. Akari and Yukari are stereotype and a straight copy of Uranus and Neptune from the manga.

Akari and Haruka = Boyish girls often mistaken for a guy, swoon over the bunny like girl (Usagi/Ichika), fall for elegant, kinda snobbish but sweet lady (Michiru/Yukari). Both are a gentleman. (Haruka is sweet in the manga and Crystal versions) Very skilled in physical fights and have very short hair.

Yukari and Michiru = elegant, kinda lonely young women that come across as snobbish but are sweet, has a special talent and is the mature one of the group. Have wavy long hair and keep to themselves for the most part.

Sorta like how “Dragon Flies” was the masculine answer to “Sky Dancers”. Anyone remember that?

It’s like if Disney took Beauty and the Beast and made Belle a stuck up, spoiled rich girl or they made Mulan just stay a pretty whiny girl. That’s how it is when Precure keeps making stupid series like Happiness Charge and poorly written series like Kira Kira. It’s one big slap in the face to those who grew up with a franchise that treated their audience seriously, with well thought out stories and development.

Yes, Precure was always for kids. No freakin duh! But it was first made with the idea that kids are smart and could handle some mature situations. 

Same with Teen Titans Go! It would have been a fine series if it wasn’t based on a series that was known to be thought provoking and took it’s audience serious. It’s like turning Blade the Vampire Hunter into a Hello Kitty character for Pete’s sake!

Yes, characters have crazy hair colors. They also have big eyes. This is a trait anime characters tend to have just to make them stand out, but they all still have skin tones that Japanese typically have. That’s why characters that have dark skin tones tend to either be mix race or of another country originally in anime.

I don’t mind diversity nor LGBT, but people need to understand culture differences before they start spewing stuff like that. Also, I’m really getting tired of people saying everything is racist and homophobic. That is getting way out of hand and some people even threaten others for it, which is scary and disgusting! People just grow up!

I feel like people tend to forget that Michiru/Neptune is just as guilty as Uranus when it comes doing bad things. In the old anime, she refuses to put Uranus in her place when Uranus is acting too cruel and she herself can act just as cold as her. After all, she held Sailor Moon when Uranus was going to kick her! She went along with treating the other senshi beneath her during S. Sure she’s kinder than Uranus at times, but not by much and she tends to follow Uranus lead like a puppy, which doesn’t help her. Also, in the manga and Crystal, she flirted with Mamoru. Sure she didn’t kiss him, but it still made Usagi feel jealous and insecure about it. But because she’s pretty and “perfect”, all the blame and hate goes to Uranus/Haruka.
