Stupid App Gaming

W-wow...I wasn’t aware of this, I assumed they were still working for DG since I saw them post DG related things on Twitter recently but...they really did leave, their farewell post is here...Aah damnit they were my favorite DG artist/designer...Aaaah I hope they still had enough time to draw Ittetsu’s uevo before they left OTL I’m suddenly super worried about Ittetsu, if it’s UCMM or Yuurin drawing him now it should be fine, Beikon might be good too, but Omika...Omika’s artstyle is nice, but I really can’t see it for Ittetsu... ;A; aaaaah damnit whyyyyy Shiratoriiiiiii

As for Yuurin...honestly I don’t know, it’s probably because they drew the uevos of several beloved characters designed by Ichinose and fans didn’t like the result or thought it was too different from the original ( well DUH it’s another illustrator doing them now, also when the last Knights’ uevos were released I’ve barely seen comments about them just looking WILDLY different from their original artwork when it’s so freaking jarring?! what the hell )

Like...I could understand people not liking Yuurin’s style (imo the main problem of Yuurin’s artstyle is that they try hard...too hard, they try to make their designs as unique as possible but, they add too many details and often it becomes a huge mess), and I could understand people being bummed that Ichinose is not drawing their own characters anymore ( UCMM is a wonderful illustrator but...I’m still not completely happy with them being Akane’s illustrator now tbh ) but...hating their guts constantly and even wishing for their death and posting all of that on Twitter is not okay, freaking hell...

Here’s a nice (not) example of that stupid hate, that I saved for some reason:

Rough/Approximative translation:

- Shiratori: “I will do my best!!” Yuurin: “I will do my best (small voice) “ What’s that “(small voice)” ? A gag?

- It feels like they were trying to show they had no confidence with only words.

- Maybe it’s because they think users would rather tell them “Don’t do your best”

- If you can only say something like “I will do my best” with a small voice, then don’t do anything and just leave it to another artist

?????? Yeah of course they wouldn’t feel super eager to show their motivation if there are assholes like these who try to hate them for the smallest thing?? What the hell is their problem...

Just a quick post I intended to do mostly for myself (I might use it later as a reference for...another project soon™ ) but here’s a (most likely incomplete) list of the DG illustrators that I know of:

- UCMM (also called Ushi-san / うしさん by fans): probably THE main DG artist, original designer of 4 of the main heroes (Midori, Hikari, Yukari and Ginji) and of many other popular characters. They used to draw rare scratch + limited scratch units (and free units too sometimes), but now they’re mostly doing artworks for limited scratch units and evolutions of their previous characters.

- Ichinose ( イチノセ ): Original designer of two of the main heroes (Akane and Aoto), they used to be one of the three main DG artists with UCMM and Natsushima. They were very active in the past (they not only drew a lot of area dungeons’, descend and guerrilla bosses, but rare scratch and limited scratch units as well, with some of their characters becoming very popular with fans, like Santa, Ariton, Oberon and Vivian), but it seems that at one point they stopped working for Divine Gate. Nobody knows why exactly and their whereabouts are unknown ( ? though recently some comments they made about their own DG characters were released, so what is the truth Ichinose ). As a result, the characters they designed were entrusted to other artists: now UCMM is in charge of Akane and Aoto, Natsushima is drawing Santa, and Yuurin, Shiratori, and Omica too now are taking care of their other characters.

- Natsushima ( 夏嶋 ) : One of the three main DG artists in the past with UCMM and Ichinose, they designed the popular Arthur, the Knights of Round, and Loki. They were mostly in charge of free units (only one of their characters, Arthur, was sold as limited scratch unit), and have created most of the seasonal event units like Ise and Vega. While they are still working for Divine Gate, they are a lot less active than before: the last character they designed is Deneb, and since then they have only drawn evolutions or alt. versions of already existing characters. (Also: their artstyle has considerably changed over time, yes this artwork and this one were drawn by the same person)

- Shiratori ( しらとり ) : Shiratori started working as the new designated descend bosses’ artist with Necros (possibly after Ichinose left and UCMM was too busy to draw the descend bosses) , but since then they have also drawn rare scratch units (and one character as a limited scratch unit, Pota) and were in charge of the evolution artwork for some of Ichinose’s characters (like Shakespeare). While they aren’t as popular as the first three artists, they have drawn several characters who got a decent fanbase, like Merlin, Tilson, Ittetsu, and Mathers.

- Yuurin ( ゆーりん) : I’m not exactly sure when they started working for Divine Gate and with which unit, but they’re currently the second designated artist for the limited scratch units, along with UCMM (possibly taking the role of Ichinose after they left) and they’re now in charge of several characters originally designed by Ichinose (they did Ariton’s, Paimon’s, Fatima’s and Vivian’s ultimate evolutions, among other ones). Unreasonably hated by a good portion of the fanbase but still doing their best please stop being mean to them.

- Omica ( オミカ ) : Trying to guess when Omica started working for Divine Gate is really complicated because they were only in charge of collaboration units in the past and...trying to guess which artist drew which collab unit is a nightmare. But their work as an original DG designer started with the Alulu/Nalulu/Yululu trio, and since then they have drawn other original characters (like Hinagiku) and they even drew ultimate evolutions for some of Ichinose’s characters (like Shokumyou and Tashin).

- Beikon / Bacon ? ( ベーコン ) : I...gotta admit, I know very little about them, in fact I’m not even sure I can recognize their style properly...But Shiratori confirmed on Twitter that they were the artist who drew the Holy Painters’ ultimate evolutions (w-why didn’t Shiratori drew their own characters here...I mean I’m not complaining about the result but...hum?) and Iiiii think they drew the New World Council series’ ultimate evolutions but...I’m not sure OTL Maybe they were that series’ original designer too...? Honestly I don’t know, they’re currently an enigma to me (I’d gladly hear more stuff about them...or see anything else they worked on besides Divine Gate, their artstyle is pretty cool)

Quick post to talk about a new mission chain that just got released today, with which you can obtain Vivian (N°649) as well as her Bon version!

There are two ‘courses’ for this mission chain:

- “Anyone can do it” Course

Every day, from 3/1/2016 to 4/1/2016 10:59 JST, a new mission will be given to players, and the objective is the same for all of these missions:

- Clear the quest ‘White Empress: Expert’ / 白の女王：上級 in the ‘Snow White’ / 御伽城シラユキ dungeon twice

Individually, these missions will give out Mister ☆ King Egg with + in HP and/or ATK, but:

- If you do this mission each day for 10 days or more, you will get Vivian-Bon!

- And if you do it each day for 20 days or more, you will get Vivian!

So that means: if you want both of them, you will have to clear the ‘White Empress: Expert’ quest twice every day for at least 20 days!

Also important reminder that Event Missions reset at 10:59 JST!!!

- Beginners’ Course

Beginners who just started playing the game during this event, there’s a special mission for you!

- Clear the quest ‘White Empress: Expert’ / 白の女王：上級 in the ‘Snow White’ / 御伽城シラユキ dungeon more than 50 times

If you clear this task, you will get Vivian! (but not her Bon-version)

This is ONLY for new players! If you started playing before this event it won’t be available to you!

Ah, no for the translations you have to thank @papermoon-deux for that!!! She’s the one who’s been working hard on DG’s story (even when the writers do their best to make it as vague as possible ^^’)

Hum for the races, if I had to rank them I guess it would be something like:Fairies>>>Humans>Demons>>Gods>Machines>Dragons>>>Beasts

Humans’ main strength is their variety and versatility! Thanks to the collab units being mainly human ones, and ‘human’ being a common second-race for DG original units, they regularly get powerful units, and you have a lot to choose from if you want to build a human team. So yeah, you can have a strong human team in Divine Gate!

Forte is a nice human leader! Though imo he truly shines in a Fire Human team (thanks to enhances stacking, with his Active Skill you can get TWO 2x attack bonus for all Fire Humans in your team, and every 9 or 4 turns too! Though try to avoid units that will decrease wind panels’ appearance rate a lot, like Shokumyou for example, you’re going to need those wind panels...) Or in a Multi-Elemental Human one that would make good use of his Normal Skill 2 (harder to build and play than a Fire Human team, but he can do a LOT of damage with his NS2, and putting him in a Multi Elemental Team with a multi-element attack boost Link like Gilgamesh or Tengen would make his damage even better!)

- Possibly good sub-units for a Fire Human Team: Ein (N°2292), Lady (N°2043), Roar = Uwain (N°1732), Orihara Ruri (N°1438), Tohsaka Rin (N°1958); Alibaba (N°2261)...

But anyway for your question: they’re the same person! Nicholas is the Void Saint. The Divine Gate stories didn’t reveal his name until its release to keep the surprise (that he is Santa and Eve’s father, though with the recent stories it wasn’t really surprising at all)
