Fall
Crickets are starting to scream the name of the season again. I love it, tho my migriane would prefer them silent. At some point Nox will win, and their belligerent song will be naught but a backdrop for my painful somnolent swim.

Suckage
Ain't this swell? What does one do when immitrex, phenergan, Percocet and dexamethasone have all failed to perform their appointed task of killing the migraine? Open to suggestions....
Stevia and migraines
Ok, here's an odd one: I've started using stevia in place of sugar (the various product available at Trader Joes is actually amazingly good!) to sweeten my coffee and tea. Strangely, I'm also noticing a down swing in my migraine pattern. It may be completely random noise, could be a coincidence, or perhaps it might be a mitigator for me.

Not to be a whiny little bitch, but this many days in a row of migraine and I'm really feeling like a whiny little bitch. Even sex is a non-starter at the moment. Nadir.
Muse ala migraine
Migraine and migrinal with a marathon of defiance. And you can take that however you choose. Any road, the answer won't lose.
For the record, fuck weather induced migraines. Love storms, but this one has put a beating down on me for no good reason. /rant
Tis the season
We're off to see the neurologist
The wonderful neurologist of Od... Hopefully, this will just be a "ah, I see you are still alive and still have migraines!" kind of visit. Not really up for playing the lead role in "The Human Guinea Pig Trials" today. After all tis Friday!!!

Decision point
So, with today's lovely episode, I need to move on to the next level of meds. So, the choice is either maxalt oral or immitrex injection. I know which one I should use...but I have to work thru it...I really don't like injections, and even this many years down the road, immitrex still hurts. So I guess this isn't really a decision point, it's just me whining about having to sack up and take the pain to stop the pain... Wow, duality in migraine treatment. Leads me to wonder where the upside to having migraines is as well...
These are the best GOP rape quotes I could find - but message me if you have more! Letâs hold these people accountable.Â
1.Todd Akin: âIf itâs a legitimate rape, the female body has ways of shutting that whole thing downâ -mid 2012 Senate Campaign
2.Claytie Williams: âIf itâs inevitable, just relax and enjoy itâ -mid 1990 Gubernatorial race in TexasÂ
3. Â Chuck Winder:Â âI would hope that when a woman goes in to a physician with a rape issue, that physician will indeed ask her about perhaps her marriage, was this pregnancy caused by normal relations in a marriage or was it truly caused by a rape. I assume thatâs part of the counseling that goes on.â -March 2012
4.  Ken Buck: âA jury could very well conclude that this is a case of buyerâs remorse ⌠It appears to me ⌠you invited him over⌠the appearance is of consent.â -October 2010
5. Rick Santorum: âI think the right approach is to accept this horribly created â in the sense of rape â but nevertheless a gift in a very broken way, the gift of human life, and accept what God has given to you⌠rape victims should make the best of a bad situation.â - January, 2012
âbuyerâs remorseâ?
âRELAX AND ENJOY ITâ?
wow, I cannot even contain my disgust
So, what color does the sky have to be for these thoughts to be "normal"? Never mind; after a bit of reflection, I don't want to live in that kind of a headspace, much less that kind of a universe.
Building a Real Religion
Jeff Lilly had a Google+ post yesterday (that I apparently canât link directly to) where he pointed out the tendency of online discussions to degenerate into âa zero-information signal, i.e. a statement that is either unverifiable or just false.â...
It is done.
On Tuesday evening, Migraine.Com revealed the results of their landmark study, âMigraine in America 2012.â They surveyed 2600 migraine patients in May and June 2012, and some of the results are posted in the image in the link. This is one of the largest studies of this type ever completed.
For more info, check out http://www.migraine.com
Do any of the survey results surprise you? Will you share this with your friends and family?
A very worth reading and important analysis. Given the duration that a number of the respondents have been dealing with migraine, it also serves as a proxy for a longitudinal study as well. Thank you to thatmword for sharing this!

I love this
If they have to ask, maybe this will help to explain...
Migraine la nuit
What do you do when a breakthrough migraine occurs even though you are being awesome about taking your daily preventative med? Simple: you suck it up, grab Felix's bag of tricks, take a naproxen plus a flexaril plus a maxalt plus a perocet and start meditating upon a deeply held belief set that you can survive long enough for the meds to kick in, and maybe salvage something resembling some sleep for the night.
