No JUSTICE NO PEACE

As I walked towards the officers I had no choice but to wonder, will they shoot? Will they attack? I should not have to fear for my life when I walk towards the people who are supposed to protect me.

5 years ago people throughout the nation protested the death of a boy named Khalil. Today is no different. The cries of “No justice, no peace” still ring through the air. We must continue what started 70 years ago with the Civil Rights Movement. We must continue to have voice, and those who have been silenced  will be given it. To have voice takes courage, but it is necessary. I found my voice when my best friend Khalil Harris was brutally murdered in front of me. I learn that a voice is a weapon. Now is the time to use it.
