Today is the last day to make orders on shirts if you’d like them to make it in time for Christmas! I work with a smaller family-owned shirt printer, and they do all the production and fulfillment. Because their scale is smaller than other larger companies, and especially during the holiday season, processing times will be longer! That said the quality of the prints are very nice and in my opinion worth it! All other things (prints, stickers, etc) are shipped and fulfilled by me, and so the holiday ordering deadline is later on the 15th (for US customers).

Thank you so much to those of you who have made orders already! You make it possible for me to be able to subsist on the creation of my work. I’m deeply grateful for your support.

📣 Just a heads up for those in the US about ordering deadlines if you want to get my work by Christmas! Please be sure to order SHIRTS by ✦DECEMBER 7✦ I work with a smaller family-owner shirt printer, and so processing times end up being quite long especially during the holiday season when things are busier. For everything else, prints, stickers, etc, I ship in-house and the ordering deadline is going to be ✦DECEMBER 15✦ I can still take orders after these holiday deadlines, just note that it will likely not arrive by Christmas.

📣 Also, just a reminder that I cannot guarantee delivery dates, and neither can the post office. During this season especially, there are always the chance for delays and so it’s always safer to order as early as possible. The dates given are based on the recommendations by the USPS and my own processing times.

I realized I forgot to upload this design! I actually had an older version of this illustration, and decided to update it into an aesthetic that I personally like a lot more. I think as I keep making these sorts of fantasy field notes/species charts, I want to try experimenting with the format too!

It's my first entry on my 31 days of fungi challenge! The blue pinkgill is one of those mushrooms that truly looks like it came out of the fairy realm - such a beautiful striking blue! They also have pink spores! But they appeared to me very subtle in the photographs. I did add some of the spores in my painting, but only little hints - can you see them?

I'm really excited to work on this challenge. I've been obsessed with mushrooms the past couple months, and of course when I get a new fixation I have to incorporate it into my art! If you all feel called to it, feel free to join in. You don't have to draw the exact mushroom I listed either, I just threw down all the mushrooms I'm going to be painting personally!

🧚BUTTERFLY FAIRIES🧚

Painting fairies inspired by butterflies was what started it all for me! I love fairies, but maybe it's because I grew up drawing more animals than humans, that I found some of the human-with-bug-wing designs of fairies a bit lacking for my taste. I've always wanted the buggy aspects to be more integrated within the design! I think that fairies are very strange beings - something beautiful, familiar, yet totally alien. A lot of bugs have that effect too, with their weird, lidless, compound eyes. I don't think fairies need to always be creepy, but I feel that they have an otherwordly presence that lets you know that maybe their ideals and human ideals are quite different.

🍄‍🟫🍄 31 DAYS of FUNGUS🍄🍄‍🟫

-October Painting Challenge-

This year I've wanted to do some kind of month-long drawing challenge in October, but I wasn't sure about what theme I wanted to do - until I remembered my current mushroom obsession!

Ever since I grew some oyster mushrooms from a grow kit, I dove into a fungus rabbit hole. I've been learning about all sorts of mushrooms, how to grow them, and about foraging them. To me they seem magical in more ways than one - their evolution (we're more closely related to them than plants!), their funny shapes and colors, and their health benefits! Not to mention the fae's affinity for them in folklore. The famous fly agaric/amanita mushroom is rarely seen without fairies surrounding them in many fantasy and fairy tale paintings.

It's also partly an excuse to do a bunch of mushroom studies. I kind of want to do either fantasy fungus or mushroom fairies, but I wanted to learn about how different they could look before I dove in. It's crazy the diversity of fungi! They come in literally every color of the rainbow, and in so many crazy shapes.

This is a challenge I did mainly for myself, but if you'd like to join in feel free!

I'm still unsure if I'll post them every day (that might be too many mushrooms for you all! And I still have fairy art I also want to work on) but I'll definitely post them all so stay tuned! At the end of the challenge, I'm planning on releasing the mushroom paintings as a poster. And who knows, maybe I'll make stickers of a couple too! ALSO! I've actually already started on this project, I posted a few sketches of mushrooms on my Patreon (for free!) 🧚MANTIS FAIRIES🧚

The mantis fairies have been my latest insect fairies that I completed last year, and I've been floored by the response people have given them! I wasn't sure about them originally, because they seem more unconventional, and maybe a bit more creepy-crawly than the almost universally-loved butterflies and moths. But it seems you all really love them! And maybe even because they're a bit different from the typical fairy!

So I wanted to give them the sticker treatment just like my moth and butter fairies, and just released a set of four of them. They're super cute, and are made of weather-resistant vinyl - so they can go on your water bottle no problem!
