* ˖ ·ﾟ   carter  was  dressed  to  the  nines,  as  per usual.  her  hair  curled  flawlessly,  flowing  down  her  back  in  dark  waves.  her  winged  eyeliner  was  only  a  smidge  uneven  this  time,  so  she  took  that  as  a  win. she's a professional at making others beautiful at the salon, therefore an expert at making herself feel beautiful no matter the occasion. as  she  walked  down  the  streets  of  downtown  bayside,  careful  not  to  bump  into  anyone, she  made  a  beeline  for  the  apple  cider  vendor,  eager  to  get  a  taste  of  her  favorite  holiday  sweet  treat.  she  offered  a  smile  when  she  saw  a  familiar  face  also  waiting  in  line  for  a  drink.  “what’s  your  pick,  apple  cider  or  hot  chocolate  ?“  she  asked,  her  voice  soft  as  she  attempted  to  prompt  the  conversation. ( @rescriptedstarters ! )

mykhala was absolutely living her current holiday novel instead of reading it as she walked through bayside. her smile stretched from ear to ear while her hair gingerly shifted from her shoulders as she walked. she placed her view over to the beverage vendors and decided that it was time that she could use another. once the question was posed and her attention was adequately placed on the other speaking, she twirled a strand of hair around her finger a time or two. she had the look of someone who got caught sneaking into the cookie jar late at night. "this may or may not be my third time in line," she confessed. "but - apple cider this time around. what were you thinking?"

@rescriptedstarters leave it to ivy to come to this event late.. it was only by an hour but.. more fashionably late than anything else since it had been a very last minute plan. she'd passed a few of the activities she'd been eying and thinking about doing. "oh gosh, please tell me i'm not extremely late to this.. did i happen to miss anything.. interesting ? or has it already gotten boring ? i'm hoping not because i could so use a decent evening out."

"guess it depends if you are one for awkward catch up conversations. i'd say at least, you got a pass on that one and can make your way to the fun stuff. when you first heard about the festival, what were you looking forward to most?" a curious mind danced for the other woman's interests. "i wanted to go ice skating myself but i'm waiting for the littles to get their turn in before i get out there." mykhala hands rubbed together in excitement.

          ϟ       she  squints  at  the  gingerbread  man  like  it's  personally  wronged  her.    ❝ listen, ❞    she  whispers  to  it,  adjusting  her  grip  on  the  piping  bag,    ❝ you  and  i  are  gonna  look  adorable  in  our  matching  outfits  whether  you  like  it  or  not. ❞    a  careful  squeeze  before  the  pop  of  an  air  bubble  is  heard;  the  splatter  of  red  icing  rivaling  that  of  a  crime  scene.  avery  gasps,  thankful  her  mess  has  stayed  contained  to  her  work  area.  she  glances  at  the  person  next  to  her,  shoulders  lifting  sheepishly.    ❝ is  it  just  me,  or  are  these  things  fightin'  back? ❞    a  nervous  laugh.  what  if  she  ruins  the  experience?  everyone  knows  she's  not  meant  to  get  it  wrong.    ❝ please  tell  me  you're  havin'  better  luck,  because  negotiatin'  with  royal  icing  is  not  part  of  my  skill  set. ❞

mykhala was navigating her way through her own gingerbread man creation. she was lost in thought, not making her completely attentive to the dialogue from the other. mykhala had never been one who could create without making a mess either, smiling internally as she made glances upon the red icing. a short giggle escaped her lips at the same time she nodded slowly. "Decorating can get pretty gruesome. One Christmas I swear I wore more icing than I had on the cookies." her head titled to the side, moving her view to be at different angles. "similar luck - i'm on my second attempt," she admitted.

@rescriptedstarters alexis turned to the other that wasn't too far from her, glancing around at everyone that was just now starting to arrive at the festival. "you know... i really was debating on coming to this thing at all, really. don't know how i got persuaded to come. and now that i'm here . . . ? i don't even know what i want to do first. i'm torn between the scrapbook making stand or the hot chocolate. then again... how could you really go wrong with hot chocolate, am i right ?"

it didn't take much for mickey to pull her own arm about getting to the festival. her features beamed against the multi-color lights and classic holiday tunes. "soak it all in, lovey. look at what this town did," she sighed deeply with gratitude as her eyes scanned each station within visual range. "i'm gonna be counting gumdrops and candy canes in my sleep, for days" she inserted before finalizing a response to the conundrum at hand. "i say start with the hot chocolate, then scrapbook making. the hot chocolate really kicks off the spirit of the season."
