We walked out with a guy who was very disappointed that Alex wasn’t more interactive with the crowd and that it seemed like Alex had no idea where he was. I wanted to be like, yeah have you seen them before? Hahahaha.

Y’all are interesting with your lyric interpretations for the Car. I think sometimes we take Alex too seriously. I also find him to be slightly out of touch with reality; he’s been famous most of his life. That said, the car is just loosely about a holiday he took. Sometimes he keeps meaning simple, you just have to look through the metaphors.

Mirror ball stresses me out because I consistently think the first verse he’s talking to himself. “Don’t get emotional that ain’t like you” - Alex to himself. But then the chorus/second verse he’s talking to someone. I also wonder if “there’d better be a mirror ball” is more of a throw away line like don’t sit down… is it just a line he wanted to work with? Is it a line he felt? Is it both?
