the thought of absorbing the life force of any living creature, dying or not, disgusts him. he has the weight of the entire continent on his shoulders and he still weeps at the loss of an ants life. he speaks to older people about this multiple times and all they ever say is that it’s gruesome but necessary. he’s just a boy with too much empathy in a world overflowing with violence that he feels responsible for.

Rentering my rebels brainrot era

i think about this everytime someone tells me that climate legislation doesn't work, everytime a new media story declaring our helplessness in the face of certain environmental doom makes the rounds. don't get me wrong - the situation we are facing in terms of climate change and environmental destruction is certainly terrifying. but everyday, people are working tirelessly to implement law and policy that could change that fact. and because of those people, a newly bright blue sky touches down over the baltic sea. and that has to count for something, i think.

you ever thought that maybe languages are interesting by themselves and having less diversity in them would be a loss of human culture, art, and thousands of years of history? we can track the movements of ancient cultures by looking at the words they loaned from various languages (and the words those languages borrowed back) and what sound shifts have applied to them. that’s a thing we can do! but, y'know, it absolutely is a “wasted opportunity” that all the languages aren’t somehow magically identical, innit.

The rest is inconvenience.
