What are degrees in astrology?

Degrees are the 360 sections that are divided equally in an astrological chart. Each degree has a zodiac sign corresponded to it, and it was first recognized by the Serbian astrologer Nikola Stojanovic. House cusps usually contain exactly 0 - 29 degrees. However, house divisions vary as there are different house systems that are in existence today. While the signs on the degree cusps change as the ascendant on the horizon changes, the natural attribution of the degrees starts with the sign of Aries and ends with the sign of Pisces.

You can also decide who knows and how

UFO’s are not a new phenomena. An apparent UFO battle was reported in 16th-century Europe. Things don’t get any less weird when you fast forward to the 1560s, when people living in Germany and Switzerland reported seeing strangely shaped objects doing aerial battle and flying around.

hello hello, it's me again!

today i'm bringing you a step-by-step / checklist to finally get your book done. i know it can be a bit complicated to put everything together to make your idea come to life (you're definitely not alone!)

that's why i compiled some tips and made this post, in hopes to help some author out there :D

let's get started.

PREMISE

assuming you already have a good idea in mind, you should start by writing a premise. to help you with that, try to answer these questions:

who is the main character?

what are their goals?

which troubles will they face / what's stopping them from achieving their goals?

do they have an opponent? if so, who?

now that you know the answers to these questions, it's time to write the premise. the premise consists in a sentence that summarizes your whole idea.

PLOT OUTLINE

there are infinite ways to plot your story. you can do it by writing down ideas and linking them together, following a scheme, or any other method.

the most common plot outlines are these:

synopsis outline: one to two pages, where you hit all the major beats of the story

in-depth outline: outline each chapter/scene

snowflake method: develop the premise into a bigger paragraph, and that paragraph into a page (etc.) until you have the whole outline of your story

booken method: plot the start and end of the story, and the main characters

the novel factory created plot sheets for free, and you can choose from eight different templates. you might want to check it out!

KNOW YOUR CHARACTERS

having your outline defined, you should start developing your characters now. the main character's profile might be more detailed than the others, however, it's up to you. there are many character sheets out there on the internet that will help you create flawless characters.

at this point, you should also define the narrator's voice, tone, etc, as well as the pace of your novel.

LOCATIONS

define the principal locations of your story, the settings, and where the story is taking place. it's important to know how the environment looks, and how your characters feel about it.

for this part, you might find it useful to do some research about some locations, if you're not familiar with them. find inspiration on Pinterest, Tumblr, or even on books, paintings, and art. everything is valid.

if your story takes place in a fantasy environment, you might need to fill out a template to create it or write down the way you imagine it to be. try to get as many details as possible, so there are no holes when developing the novel.

SUBPLOTS

you might want to give more depth to your novel by developing a subplot (or more than one). make sure it doesn't get too confusing or that doesn't take the focus away from the main action.

the subplot can be a romance, another character's relationship, a character's arc, a backstory, etc. this will make your story more real and 3D, more realistic.

develop it as a side story and mix it with the principal plot but don't make it as important as the main story, otherwise, none of the plots will make an impact.

SYNOPSIS

write a synopsis as long as you wish, covering every important part of the story. this will help you to really know your idea, and have a solid structure for it. it can range from 500 to 2,500 words, but you don't have to restrict yourself to a number.

things the synopsis should cover:

the status quo

the complication

initial challenges

midpoint

further challenges

the low point

the climax

the resolution

DRAFT

and we get to the best part which is writing! now that you know everything about your story, characters, locations, and scenes, all you have to do is to put all that together in words. don't feel pressured to make everything look perfect already, just write what comes to your mind. if you have a new idea for the plot, good, write it down! if this character doesn't make sense anymore, okay, get rid of them. just go with the flow, following the structure you've planned, and everything starts to come to life.

i know it's so tempting to go back, read what you wrote, and start editing and polishing, but trust me, don't do that! it's a waste of time, and you will take so much more time to finish your first draft. in fact, i've given up on so many stories because of that...

just when you finish the first draft, you will re-read everything and start editing, fixing plot holes, changing what doesn't fit well, etc. but for now, just write, get the first draft done. enjoy the process, don't rush.

How to Choose a Plot Outline Method: 4 Techniques for Outlining Novels

YOU HAVE A PLOT. Well, okay, you have a character. Or maybe just this one cool image. Problem is, that’s all it is, and it’s hard to write an entire novel on a month with just a vague idea.

Now, you might say, “but I’ve worked on my character for so long they’re a wizard/vampire/space pirate rolled into one, how can I possibly fit that into a plot,” and I say to that, weirder books have been published, you’ll be fine. Our main goal is to figure out how to get that sweet space vampire fighting bisexual cyborg into a book you can write in thirty days. Though that seems challenging, never fear, for we are going to give you a working framework with which to move forward with. It goes like this:

A [character type] has [a problem], and [tries to fix it]. However, [plot twist/inciting event] happens, and [deadly complication ensues].

Yes, we are talking about loglines. Don’t groan, I know these are hard. Our goal is simply to end up with a starting point. It doesn’t have to be pretty, or succinct. We are merely trying to find a starting point, so let’s tackle each one by one:

A Character: Your characters are complex individuals, but we’re going to distill them to their most distinctive, plot important aspects. A sixteen-year-old wizard. A trans lady dragonrider. A lonely accountant, etc. Since we’re not trying to sell anything, we can expand a bit and give into cliches. “A eighteen-year-old werewolf with a chip on his shoulder.” “A trans dude with a terrible crush on his married landlady.” “A lonely accountant into the sanguinarian scene.” Etc. Have fun with it.

A Problem: We’ve got two main types, external and internal. External will be the outward issue being dealt with - solving a murder, finding a girlfriend, stopping an asteroid from destroying the moon, etc.An internal problem will be the driving force of the character - needing to fix a broken relationship, facing a fatal flaw, confronting an addiction, etc. Both will be important to driving your plot, so consider how connected they’ll be both in tackling the plot and complicating it.

An Inciting Event: No way back, this it what thrusts your character forward. The discovery that their mother was a werewolf. The loss of an important necklace. Realizing you’re a magical girl in a world where magical girls are evil, etc. You are going to ruin your character’s life, so I advise doing it as gleefully as possible.

A Complication: We’ve got the basics of our plot, now we have to figure out how to keep it moving. Your protagonist’s mother was murdered for being a werewolf, and now they’re after your character too too. The necklace was more than important, the mob desperately wants it back and knows your character was the last person who had it. Your sixteen-year-old wizard has cast a spell to raise the dead, and now the Wizard Council is out to kill her to stop it.

Word Counter - Not only does it count the number of words you’ve written, it tells you which words are used most often and how many times they appear.

Tip Of My Tongue - Have you ever had a word on the tip of your tongue, but you just can’t figure out what it is? This site searches words by letters, length, definition, and more to alleviate that.

Readability Score - This calculates a multitude of text statistics, including character, syllable, word, and sentence count, characters and syllables per word, words per sentence, and average grade level.

Writer’s Block (Desktop Application) - This free application for your computer will block out everything on your computer until you meet a certain word count or spend a certain amount of time writing.

Cliche Finder - It does what the name says.

Write Rhymes - It’ll find rhymes for words as you write.

Verbix - This site conjugates verbs, because English is a weird language.

Graviax - This grammar checker is much more comprehensive than Microsoft Word, again, because English is a weird language.

Ingredients:

2 cups of Things that must be in the story (this can be characters, specific scenes, settings, subplots etc.)

1 cup of Vague plot ideas I may not use

1 tbsp of Central Themes

1 tsp of Ending (either happy, tragic, or bitter-sweet)

1 tsp of Protagonist's Primary Motivation

2 lbs of Brick Wall

Time, as needed

Instructions:

In a large bowl, mix Things that must be in the story. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, sift together Vague plot ideas I may not use. Discard the excess and set aside.

Add Themes, Ending, and Motivation to a small jar. Screw lid on tight and shake until mixture becomes Conflict.

Pour Conflict and Vague plot ideas into Things that must be in the story. Blend on medium until Plot Points form.

Taste.

If it is still missing something, smash head against 1 lbs of Brick Wall for one to six hours.

Let marinate for one to 365 days. Add more Things and Vague plot ideas as desired.

Smash head against the rest of the Brick Wall for one to six hours.

Scream.

Repeat steps 5 through 9 as needed.

After sufficient marination, the mixture will form an idea. This will tell you what specific action must happen in order to resolve your story's conflict. Write this down and make appropriate sacrifices to thank whichever deity took pity on you.

horary astrology is a branch of astrology where a chart is casted in the moment to answer any given question. here's how i used horary to help my client find their cat !!

ex: Venus 6H or ruler of 6H in 2H ? Spoiling them more than necessary hahaha (which is fair but you may spend a lot on them so be careful if you're on a budget lol).

I'd advise people with Uranus/Pluto 6H or ruler of 6H in 12H to be really careful about their pets : they could go missing or have accidents more easily unfortunately (better to know than to be sorry, right?).

Saturn ruled or in 6H could be allergic to pets from what I've seen (not a rule, just a common pattern haha).

Mars ruled or in 6H = be careful, y'all are more prone to be attacked directly or not by pets and animals in general (that's the nature of the planet, sorry 😭).

Moon 6H or ruler of 6H in 4H = it could feel really good for you to have a pet at home, could make you feel safer 🥰. Also, Moon/Venus ruled or in 6H could show that it was your mother figure that decided about having a pet in the house or not when you were a child (father figure for the Sun/Saturn).

Jupiter ruled or in 6H = y'all must love pets and animals in general but be careful about not having too many of them, like more than you're actually able to take care of realistically speaking.

Sun 6H, ruler of 6H in 1H or 10H = having pets could really be one of your personality traits hahahaha.

Mercury ruled or in 6H could be easily liked by pets and like them too, even if you don't owe one. You may like to be around them generally speaking and consume medias about them (movies, books, documentaries etc).

💫 In Horary astrology, a question is asked and a chart is made for the exact date, time , and location the question is asked.

💫The Querent is the individual asking the question (Do not mix this with the word “Quesited” as this is what is being asked about)

💫To find an answer to your question, you must have an aspect between the ruling planet of the Querent (this is represented as the 1st house ruler), as well as the ruling planet of the Quesited subject.

💫The Moon is important!! Especially when determining the outcome of the matter in question.

💫Conjunctions, Sextiles, and Trines are usually likely to produce a favorable outcome for the Querent.

💫 Squares and Oppositions between significators are more likely produce an outcome the Querent may not like.

💫It’s better to be simple with your questions, however yes or no questions aren’t exactly the best kind of questions for Horary readings.

💫If you have questions relating to lawsuits, marriage, or close relationships, the 7th house ruler is a significator.

💫The 2nd house ruler would be a significator if the question relates to what you own (losing something for example)

💫Questions of things like inheritances would be an 8th house matter.

💫Questions of Health: 6th house

💫Questions of family/parents: 4th house

💫The 5th house: Children

💫 Planets in the 1st house of the Horary Chart describe the conditions of the Querent when the question is asked.

💫If the ascendant of the chart is 3 degrees or less in a sign, it may be too early to pop the question. The question could be premature.

💫If the ascendant of the chart is 27 degrees and above in a sign, the matter has likely already come to a conclusion. Depending on the circumstance, the ascendant in a later degree could generally mean that the querent already knows the answer, or feels hopeless about the outcome.

💫If Venus or Jupiter is in the first house of the Horary chart, the querent is likely to have a favorable outcome, that is if

💫You can not ask the question again just because you do not like the answer you’re given! Shit don’t work like that lmao

💫The chart is basically void if:

-The Moon is void (when the Moon is at the end of a sign and makes no more major aspects to any planets)

-Saturn is in the 7th house (I’ve read that this can sometimes mean that the astrologer or the one reading the chart is not in the best position to read the chart. This could be for reasons like bias or something else.)

-The Moon is 15 degrees Libra- 15 Degrees Scorpio (with the exception of the 23rd and 24th degrees of Libra)

-The ascendant is 3 degrees or less in a sign

-The ascendant is 27 degrees or more in a sign

Also planets in the 1st are considered as additional co-significators for the querent While planets in the 7th are considered as additional co-significators for the quesited

And the moon always act as a co-significator for the querent

Another note, you can check the 4th house ( 4th house from the question, so if it’s a 7th house question, look at the ruler of the 10th house, etc ) to see the end of the matter

If there’s no aspects between one of the significator of the querent and the significator of the quesited, the matter can also be brought by translation of light and correlation of light Translation is when a third planet make a separating aspect from one of the significators and then make an applying aspect to the other significator

Correlation is when both significators of the querent and quesited make an applying aspect to a third planet, which will collect their light

It’s said that when the sun and moon make a good applying aspect, the outcome will be positive in the end

Saturn, and uranus in the 7th house can be bad in relationship question cause saturn usually means delay for the outcome and can have lots of negative consequences Uranus in the 7th, unless it’s well aspected and dignified or in exaltation, has a lot of negative effects, which can go from the quesited being an unstable person emotionally, him breaking up or cutting contact with you suddenly, him not wanting a relationship, etc.. Uranus is the bringer of change, in the 7th house it will bring sudden change and most of the time unwanted change for the querent + uranus in the 7th often means the relationship will be short lived

You also have to check if the significator of the querent and the significator of the quesited are dignified, exalted or on the contrary in detriment or at fall by signs and house, as it will show you not only what kind of person they are but also will determine the outcome of the question. Even if there are good aspects between them, if they’re not well placed the aspects will be weakened

Same goes for significators being in retrograde

In the chart the outer planets can be used to determine external influences and change in the situation

If the question is related to another person, you will have to turn the chart to see from the other person’s perspective. For example let’s say you ask “ does X loves me”?“ Which is a 7th house question. You, the querent, is taurus ascendant so venus is your ruler here. Venus is in the 5th house. Scorpio is on the 7th house cusp so he, the quesited, is ruled by mars. Mars is in the 7th house. This is from your perspective, meaning that you see the quesited as a potential lover or you have feelings for him ( his significator in the 7th house ). If you turn the chart, in his perspective, your significator will be in his 11th house ( 7th house from the 5th house give you the 11th house ) which means that he only see you as a friend and the relationship is platonic

If you ask a love related question and the quesited significator is in the 1st, that means is interested in or attracted to you

If the querent’s significator is in the 7th that means you are interested by or attracted to the quesited

If the quesited significator is in the 7th house, that means he’s not interested by you

If venus isn’t one of the significators, and the quesited significator conjuncts venus, that means the quesited already have someone or is already in love with someone else

The fastest planets of the 2 will indicate who is more likely to initiate or make the first move in the relationship

Aspects between 2 significators will determine the answer but squares and oppositions doesn’t mean no. This is determined by whether the aspect is an applying one or separating one. An applying aspect by square means the querent will have what he wants but may not be happy about it in the end. It’s a yes but generally not a happy yes, or it can be but this mostly means difficulty and the matter won’t be brought easily at least.

Minor aspects such as semi-sextile, semi-square, etc can count too, it only means the matter won’t come as major events

The house and sign of the faster planet will determine the timing, though over things have to be taken into accounts

Cardinal sign / house are the faster ( hours - days ) Mutable sign / house in between ( days- weeks ) Fixed sign / house the longest ( weeks -month - years )
