“Wait, what’s a rainbow?” When she pulls them out he takes one and turns it over in his hand a few times, smiling brightly as he holds it up to the sun and watches the light roll over it. “That’s so beautiful…. where’d you find these?!”

“A rainbow is when light makes a halo around the air. My sister said that it means our ancestors are watching over us from a better place.” Her tone gets a bit wistful for a moment, before she blinks and focuses her attention once more, humming softly as she thought. “I can’t remember actually. I got them on my way around the Surface about... a year ago maybe? It was a really pretty area though. I think my sis would’ve called it an ‘oasis’. An oasis is a spring, a place where water gathers in a small area in a desert, or a desert like area. Sis was always coming up with new words to teach me about her dreams of the surface.” Again, her tone dips into the wistful one, looking at the rock he was holding with a smile that held a bunch of emotions in them.

“Heh, I’ve been doing it since I was really young, so I’ve always had a love for it, the treasures and stuff you can just stumble across while digging is well worth it.” he chuckles playfully, accepting the handshake and brushing some dust off his shoulders. “Nice to meet you Hikara, I’m Simon, what brought you to the Surface?”

“You didn’t talk to me to hear a life story, now did’ja? I found some cool rocks that look like they have... rainbows... on them...!” As she was speaking, she was rummaging around in her pockets, eventually pulling out a few small rocks that seemed to glow with a rainbow like aura, causing Hikara to grin wholeheartedly. “Aren’t they cool!”
