JUST ME RAMBLING (but i'm okay today dw)

OKAY, TURNS OUT THAT GARDENING IS REALLY GOOD FOR MENTAL HEALTH.

(For context, I used to be in a disasterous bedroom for years as a teen, and rarely left it. Had undiagnosed/unmedicated depression n other stuff. And generally could not picture myself enjoying outside stuff much.)

But for the past 2 years, i've been out n around and i'm helping a family member with gardening. And I finally understand the joy and whimsy of making stuff grow.

So far, i've harvested:

Fuck ton of green beans (more incoming)

Figs (desert king. They grow well in BC canada)

Kale (really good in sinigang and salad [kale, tomato, lettuce, arugula, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt (optional)])

Arugula (seeds obtained for free from a local pride event last year)

Potatoes (recent, from one patato, became a dozen)

Mini Kiwi (jenny kiwi)

And Blueberries

I am not an expert, and I hardly know what i'm doing, but I am 100% sure that i've physically improved. And mentally, it's a bit all over the place, but I am seeing a doctor.

Also working on down-sizing. I have some fursuit parts that I got but never really used that I need to sell. And some materials to either use, or just sell (preferably use).

Been very stuck with art-block but it's okay.

Aight, that's about it.

Hanahaki disease is a psychosomatic illness. It's a thing that your body does in response to stress over constantly repressing/concealing your feelings in settings with high background magic. It's like you've been ignoring pain for a long time and suddenly your vision starts going dark, because your affected body is just YANKING on random alerts trying to get you to PAY ATTENTION there is a PROBLEM. Yes the flowers do really exist. So do non-magical psychosomatic symptoms. The flowers aren't special.

This does of course open up the trope to options for non-romantic concealed feelings. Which I think is great. There is something viscerally satisfying about the person who seems so outwardly chipper coughing and hacking and spitting up Depression Flowers so now everyone has to know they're hurting. Isn't there?
