One of my favorite parts of tmbd is how it's obvious that mb looks so cool and brave and stoic in the face of danger and then its internal monolog is like "I didn't flinch or scream because I'd been trained out of that out of fear of punishment by clients but if I'd actually had a digestive system i WOULD be shitting myself rn because this situation is fucking terrifying."

i love the idea of murderbot being classified as an unreliable narrator bc like. usually unreliable narrators are unreliable bc they either perceive reality incorrectly or are just straight up lying to you, but murderbot is unreliable because it has different priorities than the readers do and can't read social cues for shit

I wonder if Gurathin ever gets shit from the rest of the PresAux crew about how much Murderbot hates him. Because that’s got to be kinda hilarious, right? A rouge secunit, the terrifying killing machine, has joined your crew and it hates you specifically. And instead of this being in any way threatening, mostly it means it’s just being a bitch to you a lot. Other people take one look at secunit and shit their pants and meanwhile it’s calling you stupid and you’re just like, yeah whatever, fuck you too.

Murderbot is doing such a great job communicating its wants and needs 🥰 such as "can I borrow your gun please?" And "Gun now please." And "If its that dangerous, you could give me a gun."
