”This ain’t my apartment, can I at least leave a note saying where I went? Or can you?” He asked. He knew his friend would freak if he suddenly disappeared.

"Absolutly." It takes a note out of the air and pins it to the door. "There. That should explain everything. Ready?"

“Nah, I don’t take anything.” He said. He paused just before entering the car, and added accusatorially, “this doesn’t look like any cop car I’ve seen around here. And aren’t ya supposed to read me my rights or something?”

The officer tilts it's head, it's glowing eyes blinking slowly as it takes in the accusatory words. "I am not sure what you are speaking of. As for rights, those are the first things I gave you. You will be allowed one call and have the right to plead the case. Beyond that, you must speak with a lawyer."

”I dunno who you’re trying to fool but I’m not getting in a ‘cop-car’ with an officer who doesn’t even read rights properly.” He took a couple steps back as he spoke, “that isn’t the department’s acronym either.”

"Would you rather it was a carriage? I suppose we could skip it all together, although your file suggested you would find that uncomfortable," it muses. "Which department were you looking for? I'm pretty sure this isn't a large enough case for ITC and certantly not something that would interest IDL."

"UTLCI. Universal Timeline Law Control and Inforcment," it answers, still holding the door open. "If you are not willing to come of your own accord, that will be marked on your warrant."

”Never heard of ‘em before. Got any proof you’re real?” He asked. He was ready to bolt if need be, but looked less agitated upon being given a name.

"Beyond my existance? Tell me what type of proof you are interested in, and I will do my best to provide it."

”No, not you, like, your organization. I believe you exist.” He sighed. “Legal documents, I guess? Or someone who can vouch for you?”

Echo clicks its tongue and pulls a binder out of the air. With a touch of his fingers, he translates it into English to the best of his abilities. This is a folder with the various documents labeling the various exams he passed to get his position. Of course, it made as little sense as you might expect of the UTLCI

Echo steps around to the driver's side, climbing in as well and shifting the vehicle to first gear. Pulling away from the curb, Fang immediately finds that he does not recognize the neighborhood they're driving through.

"About five minutes," the officer answers, glancing over at him. "Will you be requiring anything before or immidatly after arrivel?"

“I shouldn’t. Will my phone work there?” He checked the map once again, absentmindedly. No change.

"To a degree. It's a bit complex but the majority of phones can be edited to work within the new boundries without many side effects." It turns down a street that as far as Fang can tell just ends in a wall of fog.

“Will I be there long enough to need that?” Fang considered himself somewhat tech-savy, but it seemed complicated.

"I don't expect so, though it might depend on if you plead your case and if the judge decides this isn't worth the time," Echo replies.

"Charges or warrant?" Echo asks, pulling to a stop inside the completely grey wall of mist. "Because both will effect the outcome, but only one of them gets you brought in."

”What’re the charges?” He clarified with an annoyed tone. He quickly looked around, unsure why they were stopped.

"Murder, disruption of the peace, and a couple that aren't actually crimes." It gets out and comes around to open the passenger door. "Are you ready?"

He saw no building, only a set of double doors and stone stairs leading up to it. The cop heads towards the steps, expecting him to simply follow.
