Dr. Gaster was a brilliant scientist and music theorist. He was truly a great conductor, may be even as great as the King himself! Gaster studied all sorts of music, as well as the sciences, making the Core, providing technology, he even fixed instruments too! This man could practically do anything.
He was able to make multiple instruments and conduct other monster songs, even helping a lot make their songs as they grew up.
At the young age of 22, he decided he was lonesome, so, he made a son, creating the first music note hole in his palm. He named him Sans. When Sans was older, begging for a sibling, Gaster provided, the second note on his other hand, and thus Papyrus was born.
He saw Sans and how brilliant he was, wanting his eldest son to follow his foot steps he watched over his studies, showing him magic and science theory, how to fix instruments, things dealing with the SOUL. He was a truly great father.Β
Do to an accident with [REDACTED, ACCESS NOT GRANTED] he died. Leaving his eldest son to take care of the youngest.Β

So my friends and followers, I have bad news tonight
with deliberation from my family tonight, we have come to the decision to put down our dog, Brutus.

Magic
Monsters are made of magic. Our entire being, our self, our music, is an extension of our magic and SOUL. Monsters are able to use basic magic, though very limited and weak, it is still possible. A little flame here, some healing magic there, very basic. The basic magic can be amplified via song, such as singing, which all monsters are able to do in some fashion or another.Β
Most monsters learn an instrument at a young age, cause we find our inner song that is US when we are small, or hitting puberty. We all have a real copy of our musical instrument. The real copy does not affect our magic or magical input, it is just nice to play without having to use magical energy. Our magical instrument requires focus, and a constant output of magical energy for it to stay formed to play. A monster can learn to do this after learning its real life counter part.Β
Magical instruments, though difficult to play, also sound much better than their real life counter part. One is able to fluctuate the sound lower or higher at a whim, make its sound vibrate more, or fall flat. The possibilities are as endless as the imagination of the monster.Β
Now how can we apply our magical instruments, and the DT of a human, to break the barrier? It is a puzzle waiting to be solved. And solve it I shall, I swear it. My sons deserve a better life than this.Β

Toriel mothers you!!
Name : Toriel Dreemur

Instrument of choice : Flute and Clarinet(please excuse I spelled it wrong in the ref)
Like most monsters who have discovered their basic song, Toriel can since, but since she is powerful enough to form instruments, she sings for fun only.
Being a Boss Monster, she is powerful enough to conduct other monsters songs, it is very invasive so she only does it if the monster in question asks for help with their song. As well as, being strong enough to make and play more instruments if she wanted.
She can use her basic fire magic without the use of her instruments, however the flames are more powerful if she uses her instruments.Β
Hearing the harp brings up bad memories of the past. She understands some monsters play this instrument, she just asks they not play in front of her cause it makes her INCREDIBLY sad.
