But Jin raises a hand.

Zenji keeps fidgeting in his seat. Subaru has been avoiding eye contact with you. Meanwhile, Haku has been looking at you a bit too intently.
Finally, Haku reaches over and touches your neck.
You flinch.
“What are you doing, you lout?!” Zenji blurts.
Haku smiles.
“Just checking.”
You take out your phone and look at your neck.
A red mark. It resembles…something.
“Ack.” You cover it. “It’s not what it looks like.”
“W-We weren’t thinking anything of it.” Subaru says quickly. But he’s terrible at lying.

“It’s probably just a bug bite. It doesn’t even look like a hickey.”
“Yeah, those usually have a different color.”
You squint your eyes.
“And how would you know that?”
Haku scratches his neck. “Should we continue our meeting now?”

He can’t even finish his sentence.

You take a look at the mirror across the room.

Omg lol I saw a reel and it made me think about the ghoul's reaction to MC lifting them up onto the countertop or simply carrying them for a short while. You know, the hidden strength kinda thingy!!!! I couldn't stop giggling imagining how dumbfounded the big guys would be ESPECIALLY Alan and Jin (although Jin would probably just click his tongue and frown (oh please I know he's folding internally!!)), so I thought about making a request of this idea with the Frostheim and Vagastrom ghouls. No pressure tho! Me very very like your writings I even re-read some of your works before bed XD love your characterizations of the ghouls!! Ily!!!!!!

But there's something about your boldness and strength that makes him tense and warm in ways he DOES NOT want to confront right now
So he just scowls, and when you aren't deterred, he scowls even harder to no avail
You bring him out to his balcony to stand in the cool air so he'll relax
He doesn't like the way you're beaming, because holding him like that was a feat of strength even you didn't expect you could do
But you were a little tipsy and didn't want to drop him
So you set his ass on the railing and he shifts to look down at you like a king about to pass judgement
Your eyes widen because he looks really good from that angle
He was made to be looked up to, but you weren't the kind to kneel
This was the perfect view for you and he caught that awe in your face
Maybe he didn't hate this

This is wholly undignified, if you would be so kind as to put me down
So naturally you carry him even harder
Parading him because you have one of the most capable ghouls at Darkwick in the palm of your hand, and technically the rest of your arms
He humors you as much as you can stand it, but then he’ll use his stigma to vibrate the both of you until your bones are jarred
So you finally put him down after he practically induced an earthquake
He looks no worse for wear, but you need to sit down
“Allow me,” he says, and picks you up like you had him
“By the way, that was rather impressive. Do not do it again.” :)

Squawks and thrashes as soon as he’s picked up
But OHMIGOD you’re holding him
You smell nice, you’re beaming and laughing and he cant help but laugh too
Both of you giggle so much you end up toppling over
And you keep laughing, you don’t even know why anymore
You two probably just stay there on the floor (if you can) and chat for a while
