♫ Musical Despair ♫

Immediately, a thought comes across all of you collectively,

“We’re not in the game now. We’re free from this bastard.”

You’re not sure who started it first but soon all of you were kicking the ever-living shit out of Mr Monotone. Jesus Christ, it felt so satisfying. Horrified yells only came from him once before one of you knock out his sound chip. The carnage continues for at least a couple of minutes until the robot is nothing but scrap metal.

As you dust yourselves off, you hear Kazuo perk up,

“So lads, how about we all go for a cheeky Nando’s?”

“Hoh-hoh! Well… you kids suuure did it!! I guess that means you guys go free!”

Without any hesitation whatsoever, Monotone CRUSHES the heart in his hand, splattering anyone nearby with a healthy heap of Norio blood. Yum. He opens up his clenched fist to reveal… a  remote control. Triumphantly slamming his finger on the button, you feel the ground beneath you start to shake.

The wall behind Monotone begins to lift up, the light of dawn spilling into your eyes, the air of the outside filling your lungs.

He was left in a darkened room, that vaguely resembled a cozy looking, somewhat cluttered apartment. Norio, much to his surprise, was given free reign to wander around. No matter how closely he looked at the items, they all looked dark and non-detailed, like silhouettes. Boring and a certain level of suspicious. Not too suspicious because, he expected there to be something dreadful coming, so the least of Norio’s worries were left with the fact he couldn’t really make out physical objects. There’s Making haste through the room, he left to the hallway.

As he walked out into the considerably darkened hallway, the door he came through shut ominously, and he was left with the only goal to go forwards. In a blase fashion, Norio started strolling forwards, ignoring any outright distractions. This was nearly peaceful… It was only when Norio started glancing around to the walls when he started seeing repetitive newspaper clippings, or letters stuck to the wall. They outlined his long line of failures as a human being, as a sibling, as a son, as a private investigator.

Norio had to give himself some sort of piece of mind acknowledging how the bolded writing wasn’t that interesting for news headlines but… it struck a nerve in him. He continues walking, noticing the growth of the papers as they covered the walls, ceilings and soon enough the floor. He picked up his pace, breaking into a job as he wanted to get out of this pisstake of a hallway. He even began skidding on the paper as finally, a window at the end of the hall was visible. In a full sprint, Norio went for the window and gladly jumped through it head first.

For a moment, it was a break from the cramped paper filled confines of the hallway, as he launched through the window, glass shattering around him. It felt like it was all going in slow motion for a moment. It was a nostalgic feeling from his past. The first moments of freefalling. He was going headfirst, and he could see the ground getting closer. Norio, was totally ready for this.

But he knew this wasn’t over. It would have been too peaceful a death for someone who craved it so desperately. He didn’t have much time to think before he felt a sharp tugging on his limbs, and as soon as his was close to the ground, he was flung back up. The shock to his system crippled any sort of reaction. The air rushed from his lungs as he was whizzed off and up.

He took notice of what finally caused it. The logic of this isn’t to be questioned, but what stopped his fall was convenient bungee ropes, restricting his wrists and ankles. Once he came to his sense, and got used the the bouncing around, Norio was dealing with being flung around rather well. Until wherever the bungee ropes were coming from began flinging the poor boy frantically. Nausea and sickness took over his mind as he was never the rollercoaster kinda guy.

And that's when three (3) of the ropes snapped as he was thrown away like a piece of trash. Too bad the fourth (4th) didn’t detach and kept his leg. Norio was totally fucking ready for death. Give him death dear god. It’s supposed to be as drawn out as possible and honestly this is a great way to put it

The ripping sound of both flesh and fabric was etched into Norio’s mind, he knew his leg was gone. His balance was off, the sting of air hitting the really recently opened wound. Then he landed quite softly.

Letting everything be dealt wears on you, especially when you just had a limb torn off and crave nothing but demise. Upon landing, Norio realised they felt somewhat weightless, and a stream of red lit up the air before him. No… it wasn’t air. He was submerged.

This was a point in his life where he could claim to be completely taken by surprise. Disoriented and confused, Norio flailed underwater, unable to find which was was up and thus unable to find air. Desperation filled his mind and corrupted him more than logic, as he tried and tried to seemingly no avail. The water fucking stung, his blood mixed ever so gently and danced around him, and he couldn’t move or find himself in a place to hold himself back from yelling. What’s this, he didn’t want to die like this wow. Cool beans Norio. You get given death and you don’t want it smh.

Just as Norio was losing it, the water flooded out, leaving a soaked Norio lying on the floor for a moment. He coughed up his lungs, gasping for air, letting reality crash down on him again. Damn.

After a few more moments of coming to his senses, he sat up and tried his best not to feel so salty, just as he heard footsteps. Looking around he saw- no fucking way, it was a miracle- Nime, Kasai and Kazuo approaching him. Norio, being the skeptical shit, wasn’t sure how to feel, although relief was definitely present. He realistically knew that none of them were real, and whatever they were here for was not good(™).

And he was exactly right. Wow Norio. Really putting to use that talent there ol’ buddy ol’ pal. As they all crowded him, Kasai (who was coincidentally in the centre) offered a hand to Norio. I mean, he didn’t wanna sit on the floor anymore so he took it gladly leaning onto the Kasai look alike. While he relaxed for a moment, he didn’t quite notice the prior significant others change to horrifying Monotones.

When he did notice though, something awfully grim happened. He noticed all too late as one of the Monotone’s hands went straight through Norio’s chest.

 Without hesitation, The Monotone pushed Norio’s now limp body off it’s arm, ripping the mastermind’s heart out.

And as Norio fell to the ground, the screens went red.

Yo man what the fucj

As the lights flickered on again, a fog of confusion lingered in the air. The first things to catch your eyes were corpses scattered across the room. The very same ones that were in the morgue. Each were in their designated places, apart from one.

Norio’s corpse lay upon the throne where Monotone once was. Silence hung in the air… suddenly a tiny chuckle reverberated around the room, the body upon the throne rising to take a seat, the boy was in perfect health. He waited a moment before speaking, just looking at the remaining students and sighed happily.

“Well this is a bit tense, isn’t it?” Norio asks, grinning. “Surprise~” He sang, followed by a lil jazz hands.

As the day dragged on you all ran in circles, looking into the new places and retracing your steps to previous floors. Hopefully, between the four of you, you were able to collect enough about this shitstorm.

At 11 pm, Mr monotone Sounded from the speaker system.

“Righto kids, times up! I'm sure you lot hate midnight trials by this point, so let's get an early start, hoh-hoh!! If you'd all take turns in jumping down the the trial room we'll get this finale on the road~”

Well, do you want this hell to end? Better do what the robot says.

“Well I’m glad we’ve got that off the bat! There’s so much to discover here, and It’s your new goal to solve it all~  From these new floors I just know you can discover the mastermind, figure out the Story behind this theatre and of course you wanna know about that body--

And even better: You all have ONE WHOLE MINUTE to solve all of this!” he pauses to spin his cane with a condescending laugh. 

You fucking what mate.

A moment of cane spinning later, Mr Monotone finger gunned, 

“Just kidding you guys, that’d be No Good! You have until the end of the day, and we'll have the all-important class trial, hoh-hoh!!” 

and with that. He skedaddled away.
