Reasons why Tumblr should be paying attention to Indivisible
Indivisible is a Valkyrie Profile-inspired game by Lab Zero Games. The combat is much like Paper Mario, with timed blocks and attacks, with the open exploration of Metroid or Castlevania. The full game, if funded, will be beautifully hand drawn!
Ajna, named after the third-eye chakra, sets off on a journey across the world to discover the origin of her powers. She is our main character!
The whole cast is diverse! Some other characters include:
Kaldi, a knife welding coffee farmer!
Yan, a Chinese ballet dancer born without arms!
Kushi, a super cute, young mountain falconer, with a bird twice her size!
And many more, plus ones we haven’t seen!
The game will focus on many underrepresented cultures
The developers specifically said in their Reddit AMA that the game will feature locations and cultures not seen in games very often! The primary setting is Southeast Asian inspired!
The Developers are also super transparent about where the funds are going
It might seem like the amount there asking is a lot, but they’re not pulling any punches about the expense of game development. The developers have a lot of experience and are hard workers. Plus, if the funding doesn’t make it, you get your money back!
If you’re having doubts about whether or not you’ll like the game, why not play a bit of it? A playable prototype is available for both PC and PS4. It’s a simplified version of the mechanics, but it’ll give you an idea of what to expect.
