kuroh can already tell something’s wrong. something’s very wrong. although he’s a rather abrasive person most of the time, he could never, ever, bring himself to even think about harming a child. 

perhaps it’s his own trauma that motivates him to protect. oh well. no matter. he shouldn’t think about it too much.

❝ or, rather… are you OKAY ? you seem a bit uneasy. ❞ the exorcist questions, voice laced with genuine concern.

     kanda shakes his head to answer the question.  no, he’s not okay.  he’ll never be okay.  && FOR AS LONG AS HE REMAINS HERE, he’s further at risk of angering his much older counterpart, at risk of making him disappear.  kanda doesn’t want that.

He lifts Kanda off the ground by his arm to look him over. “Um.. Are you okay?” That’s a stupid question to ask someone you just rammed into a wall, but Naki’s not sure how else to proceed.

“I didn’t want to hurt you. But I gotta mentor you otherwise they’ll get mad.”

Claire tilts her head as he runs. Why did he leave? He looked at her AGAIN, before he did. Maybe he wanted to show her something. 

She drops the small ball she was carrying, it bounced and rolled away, already forgotten about for this new, MUCH MORE EXCITING THING.

She’s now EAGERLY FOLLOWING A FEW FEET BEHIND KANDA. 

“ Hey, where ya going? Are you going outside, aren’t we supposed ta wait? “ His parents weren’t EVEN DONE TALKING YET.

     why won’t she just GO AWAY?  kanda inhales through his nose, exhales through his mouth, in a big sigh, before he looks back at claire with a look that CLEARLY demands to know if she’s just stupid, or obnoxious.

kuroh was simply walking the halls and minding his own business before being shoved ahead a step by a sudden unknown force. he quickly looks behind himself, eyes darting to the child.

…why does he seem so FAMILIAR ?

kuroh turns around fully and kneels down to the child’s height. ❝ hello there, young one. ARE YOU HURT ? ❞

     kanda squeaks softly, nervously looking at the man.  he shakes his head upon hearing the question, before he looks around, softly muttering,  “ no. ”  right, right--gotta use the words, tiedoll says.

     kanda blinks at kuroh, not liking how GENUINE the man’s smile appears to be.  “ i--i think so.  i shouldn’t be here. ”
