he could hardly blame lucas for the concerned looks he was firing max's way every so often. they'd just got her back, and now he'd be going straight into the heart of mordor to defeat sauron, leaving max defenceless aside from vickie, the poor girl who'd been dragged into this barely a day ago.

"i'll stay with her." he said, appearing before the other once he saw an opening for a quiet little chat. who knew if he'd be of any actual help, but he wanted lucas to go into battle with some peace of mind about the girl he loved. "if anything bad goes down on this end. i'll get her out of dodge, bard's honour." placing a hand over his heart, eddie offered him a knowing little smile.

"you do know how insane that sounds, right? cus there ain't no room here for both of us to be insane at the same time." head tilted, he stared at steve with those big damned eyes full of worry and concern. then, he sighed, dragging his gaze away to rub at tired eyes. " just don't go and do anything heroic up there, okay?"

I am undecided as to whether to have Eddie join the others in abyss or hang back with max and Vickie. It might end up being a case by case basis, cus I like both ideas.

He also feels responsible for both Dustin and Max's trauma. So case by case basis sounds like a good idea.
