MORE Welcome Home audio findings!!!
About a month ago I made this post. Go look at it, I promise you'll need to understand where I am coming from to understand this post.
Scrolling through the Welcome Home wiki page, I found out there are MORE AUDIO FREQUENCIES I MISSED. A MONTH AFTER THE UPDATE HAPPENED.
This post goes into my new findings, how they're connected, and a loose explanation on what this all might mean.
The one where Eddie and Frank have their little moment together. At the very beginning of the clip, while Eddie is talking to Sally, we hear the radio frequency. I did my usually extract and noise reduction and wouldn't you know it,
Specimen C matches up with Julie's phone and ringx3. For comparison:
And the spectrograms. In order, Specimen C, ringx3, Julie's Phone. It was harder to reduce the noise in Specimen C due to Eddie's voice.
I admit, the change in speed and pitch makes it difficult as Specimen C is the fastest of the bunch. But the spectrograms match up alarmingly well and there's no such things as coincidences in Welcome Home.
The one where Frank and Poppy are conversing, seemingly out of character. Around the 1 minute mark, we hear the audio frequency right before Frank speaks.
Now, this spectrogram and audio doesn't match up with Specimen E and Julie's phone, like I originally thought. Specimen P's spectrogram vs Specimen C's for reference
BUT the audio reminded me of something else. It took me a while to figure it out, but I think I got it. This may be a stretch, but the ending of Specimen P, those 3 semitones that increase in pitch, reminded me of old dial-up unanswered/unavailable calls.
So I double checked with the AT&T "We're Sorry" message video on YouTube, extracted that audio, pitched it down 50% to try to match Specimen P, and got this.
Again, a stretch. Specimen P is lower and has more 'bounce' to it, from its spectrogram, but it's the closes match I can think of.
The trophy video. This is the hardest to match to any of the other frequencies. Originally I thought it matches with SpecimenC/Julies Phone/Ringx3 just from the ending, but the frequency goes on for a long time.
The spectrogram for comparison.
Besides, PARCEL takes place after homewarming. So there is no way it can be connected to Specimen C, which takes place during homewarming. It is the only audio frequency I can't connect to anything. My best guess is that it'll be connected to an audio frequency in the next update, maybe.
WHAT DOES ANY OF THIS MEAN??
...No clue, but I have some ideas! Let's start with what we know now that all radio frequencies have been uncovered.
Specimen E (Homewarming) - Julie's Phone are connected.
Specimen C (Sweet Briar) - Julie's Phone - Wally's ringringring are connected.
Specimen P (Frank&Poppy) sounds similar to a "call unavailable" message.
PARCEL not connected to any video yet.
From Wally's ringx3 audio that I forgot to mention in my first post, Wally talks about a radio frequency and 'turning the dial'. This is the part of the transcript I am referring to:
In the three Specimen videos and Parcel, we hear the radio frequencies right before we listen into Frank's inner thoughts. "Sometimes you turn the dial to hear us."
Back in Springtime Salutations, Julie voices her worries/inner thoughts in a lower more human tone. And in Homewarming, Eddie didn't really say much when he was going through the horrors. The only other puppet we have privy into their thoughts and mind is Wally.
And with Wally out of the website, talking about radio frequencies and "You turn the dial to change the voices." we have stumbled into hearing Frank's inner thoughts due that change.
Why Frank? He seems to be the second most away puppet in the neighborhood, behind Wally at least. In the PARCEL video, Frank sounds different at certain parts of his monologue.
Us peering into a puppet's thoughts and mind has adverse effects on the puppets, see Wally's behavior in previous update after we got to peer into his eyes (thought that can also be contributed from other aspects too, not just us.)
I can't believe I'm finding all of this out a whole month after the update. But hey, next time I'll attempt to be more thorough. And if there's any more audio findings in the next updates to come, ping the crap out of me lmao.
If you have any thoughts or theories of your own, rb/comment/let me know! I love hearing other people's theories on this horror project, they're all so interesting!
