The Occupation has systematically destroyed every social infrastructure that makes civil society possible, whether it be healthcare, food systems, or education. In an attempt at genocide, they've targeted schools, hospitals, businesses, and every person who supports their community through their profession.

Rana and Ahmed (@ranafam2) are educators from Khan Yunis (Northern Gaza Strip), with Rana as a statistics professor at the Islamic University of Gaza and Ahmed as the principal of his school: both institutions have now been destroyed.

Palestinians have survived occupation for well over a century now, and they will remain steadfast, but they need your support.

In my conversation with Rana, she told me:

"Providing food and drink for my children right now is impossible. A bag of flour costs 1000 shekels ($272) and milk, for my little girl, is 100 shekels ($28). This is the least of what we need.

As for the tent, today my children froze from the cold because the tent is very, very, very worn out. And we drowned when it rained for a while. We couldn't sleep.

Please, if you know someone who can donate to me, I need it very, very much so that I can at least survive."

To help them get through this week, we must raise at least $1000 to cover the cost of flour and milk. The long term goal is $100,000.

As you know, the need is endless when surviving a war. Here is my conversation with Rana about the state of her tent as they try to survive the winter.

To help Rana and her family stay warm, we need to help them raise funds for a new tent. This comes on top of their ongoing need for food, water, and daily provisions.

"I am Rana from Gaza. I live in very harsh conditions, as I lost everything, my beautiful home, and I live in a worn out and cold tent 😭😭💔 We are dying from the extreme cold. I hug my children at night to keep them warm because they are shaking and suffering and their limbs are frozen 💔😭 There is no heavy cover to cover them with The cover price today exceeds $200. The price of clothes per person exceeds $500. What did you do? There is no fuel for heating. There is no even food 😭💔 My daughter wants to breastfeed and cries at night Where do I buy milk? My family is still staying in half of the church that wasn’t affected by the bombing because there is nowhere else to stay other than tents. They are limited to one small meal a day and one shower a week. They are sleeping on the floors, but no one can sleep since there is bombing everywhere around them. Even when there is no bombing, they can still hear the loud buzzing sound of the military planes above them, which would keep anyone who hears it awake. Along with everything, My grandma has diabetes and osteoporosis, so she can’t walk. She has to take her insulin medication along with many others; however, she has run out of many of her medications.” Am on my knees requesting for donation. Target $450
