fairytalewrittenâ:
The fact that she was âuninterestingâ was what had actually caught his attention. The other women at their workplace tried way too hard to be special, to get him interested in them, but they only achieved the opposite by doing that. Kira liked everything that was simple, clean, quiet - ordinary. Women who wouldnât interfere with his idea of a quiet life were the best⌠and so far, it seemed like Chiko would fit that idea quite well.
âWould you really like me to come over? Oh, Iâd be happy toâ, he gave her a bit of a charming smile again⌠he definitely wasnât one to flirt very often, even if he could be considered a fairly attractive man. Most of his words were aimed at women who couldnât respond anymore. It was so much easier to doâŚ
âIf you have no problem with having me over, that is.â
His question made Chiko begin to question herself - would she really like this? Of course she would, but would it seem unladylike of her to want him to come over so quickly? It was merely a formality... If he was already here and they were so close to her apartment it would be silly for them to go otherwise. Now she could show Kira some hospitality - although now her mind was racing. Did she clean up her apartment? She certainly hoped she cleaned the dishes from this morning - she couldnât remember.
âOf course, Kira-san! Youâve come all this way.â Chiko was bowing politely in his direction although her mind kept racing. Oh, she hoped that she didnât have a mess lying around. Her cleanliness was decent at best, but there were times when Chiko didnât feel like cleaning up when she felt too tired from working too much.
âItâs no problem at all.â she looked up at him again. âThis way... âÂ
Now she was leading him towards her apartment with her mind still racing. She took her time getting out her keys; there was a lone little plush keychain that hung from it. Oh, she hoped Kira didnât see it - it was a small Hello Kitty plush. How childish. She leaned against the door a bit hoping to block this keychain from his view before getting the door open and quickly tucking her keys away.Â
âPlease make yourself comfortable, Kira-san.â
turning on the lights Chiko was relieved when she saw her apartment had been decently clean at least. Phew.Â
quirofiliacâ:
Seeing the pout Chiko had on her face (no matter how brief it was, how timid it lookedâŚ) almost threw Kira into a spiral.Â
He wanted nothing more than to, in that very moment, cusp her chin so itâs nice and snug in the space betwixt his thumb and forefinger, lean ever so gingerly forward, and then, without further adieu, bite her lips clean off her face. The surplus of blood that which would spill from her face (an expression now best described as âstuntedââ as if itâs missing an important piece that canât be found.) was a splendid image, but⌠Kira doesnât do it.
He doesnât do anything of particular note in that moment. All he does, instead, was quietly â and shyly, almost â peer back at Chiko.
Soon, Kira cleared his throat and slowly raised a hand to hover awkwardly over his mouth. Lips curled, forming into a line that remained uncertain whether it wanted to complete the process of becoming a frown or, rather, a smile. There were tiny twinges of amusement coming to the forefront of his expression, otherwise. His eyes crinkled vaguely at the corners, though theyâre quick to squint further as if to fight off any assumptions that could be made.
âI⌠um,â he murmured with another clearing of his throat and glancing away in the process. âItâs nothing too important, Iâd just feel a little better if I had it on meâ for where weâre about to go, that is. I donât, ahem, have this type of thing on me every day, of course.â
Of course, heâs well aware of what heâs doing; heâs overexplaining. That didnât mean that he knew how to stop doing it, however.
Well, there was one way to stop it, actually⌠which just so happened to be shutting up.
ââŚâ
He shuffled, somewhat awkwardly, in place before lowering down both hands to mindlessly toy with his tie. His lips attempted their best shot at a smile then, obviously directed at Chiko but, also, in regards to the idea of spending time with some cats, too. Sometimes, it was the simple things in life that made it all worth it, after all.
âI wonât be longâŚ?â he offered as meager consolation whilst also trying to voice his decision remaining unchanged.Â
He was still planning on going with her, but there were a few things getting in the way. These things, though, heâs sure to rectify in a matter of moments. Bowing his head in apology, he silently tucked his hands into the pockets of his slacks after coming back to rise. Kira licked his lips, about to turn on the heel of his foot in order to begin the short âwalk of shameâ back to his car only to stop halfway through.
A brief flash of emotions worked themselves across his face, pausing on one that appeared unsure. Teeth bore in a faint grimace (and he doesnât like what heâs about to say.) as he spoke up again. Heâd only turn to look at her again once the grimace dropped, replaced instead by a meek look of embarrassment.
âIâ actually, Chiko⌠my home is only a few blocks or so away. It wouldnât take too long to go there then to the cafĂŠ, if youâre willing to join me?â
Chiko wanted to believe that she wasnât like their other coworkers. Even if she was excited for this opportunity, she tried not to show him too much emotion.
She was the type of person who had mostly always kept to herself as it was, but at the same time Kira was the person who gave her something to look forward to when she went to work in her dull life. At least he provided some motivation - some purpose for her to want to get up and keep going. This was what a person her age should be doing, right? Trying to find a partner to spend the rest of your life with, to make your living days feel somewhat fulfilled. Ah - but this wasnât like that.
As much as Chiko had a crush on Kira, she often put that in the back of her mind. What she truly craved was some kind of company ; a friend would do.
Friendship was something she lacked at work as she found most of her coworkers too annoying to want to socialize with outside of work, but, Yoshikage Kira was different. He seemed quiet and mysterious, something that Chiko had been interested in. She often wondered if she would be able to get Kira to open up a bit more to her, but that was such wishful thinking. She almost looked a bit startled when he spoke again as she had been so focused on her thoughts.
Chiko nodded in response, âOh, I see. Well, if that would make you feel better thenâŚâ her voice trailed off, although she still wasnât quite sure what he had been referring to. Maybe it wasnât his wallet after all⌠How strange.
She looked down at her feet as if hoping to find a sentence to continue the conversation but instead she turned one foot inwards to gently knock against her other ankle to convince herself to look up once more.
ââŚâ
Despite looking up, Chiko couldnât quite make eye contact with him. There was an attempt to smile, but she ended up smiling off to the side instead. Â Her attention returned upon hearing Kiraâs voice once more.
âOh, I donât mind.â really, Chiko wasnât really in any sort of rush.
When she noticed Kira bowing his head apologetically, she bowed in his direction as well. She wanted to remain professional and polite even if this had been after work hours! Â When she lifted her head again she watched Kira walking away. Well, she should probably do the same and head over to the cat cafe. She was going to turn to leave as well, but was surprised when she noticed him turning to look in her direction once more.
Join him? Oh. This wasnât something she had been expecting but⌠Chiko, donât be weird. This wasnât unusual, even if it did make Chiko feel strangely. She had never seen where a male coworker lived, and this offer had been quite intriguing to her.
âOh, are you sure, Kira-san?â
It would be rude to refuse his offerâŚ
She bowed her head in appreciation in his direction. âAlright then, Iâll join you, Kira-san.â Chiko was also curious to know what Kira had forgotten to bring with him from home. She did take a look around first however, if another one of their coworkers had been nearby she would probably never hear the end of this. Then again, it might be interesting to be the topic of conversation...Â
fairytalewrittenâ:
âPlease, donât put yourself down like thatâ, he gave her another warm smile, even though there was something⌠strangely sinister in his eyes for just a moment.Â
âIf I wanted to spend time with someone else, then I would.â
Heâd come this far⌠despite being discovered. She didnât even seem to be alarmed over him following her. Not that he minded, that only made it easier for him to let his charms work. Kira was well aware of how smooth he could be if he wanted to be.
âBelieve me when I tell you, Oyama-san, youâre far more interesting to me than you might think.â
âOh. I uh -â Chiko canât really protest his words. Maybe she shouldnât have made herself sound so pathetic, but at the same time it was true that there wasnât anything really interesting about her. She simply bowed in his direction as an apology and then offered a small smile. Be a good girl, Chiko. You have to be polite and smile more. Maybe then she might actually have a chance.Â
âI suppose thatâs true.â she smiled a little more now.
She still couldnât believe that he actually wanted to spend time with her... Chiko could only hope that she wouldnât disappoint though. The fact that he had called her interesting came as somewhat as a surprise... At work she always thought she was quiet and dull. Who knew someone would actually find her interesting for being seemingly, well, uninteresting.
âIs that so? Thank you, Kira-san. Would you like to go somewhere or did you want to... uh...â she paused, thereâs no ways he could invite him over right? âCome over to my apartment?âÂ
some part 8 headcanons for chiko just because
-sheâs a marine nurse ( assisting yoshikage kira in surgery) -she has a crush on him still, but realizes fairly quickly itâs not going anywhere -they have mostly a professional friendship (?) although at times they spend time together outside of work (probably because of familiarity reasons)
-she is good friends with June (an oc of sniiâs klsdjfds)Â
-june causes a lot of problems between chiko and kira. Literally Chiko doesnât mind June hanging around but Kira is like please kid you gotta go.Â
-Good cop / Bad cop dynamic with Chiko and Kira when it comes to June.
-Chiko tries to get Kira to open up about his feelings for Josefumi but honestly itâs like pulling teeth... Except she gets most of the information out from Josefumi since heâs more open about his feelings ( also like Josefumi really likes June!)
-Cue Josefumi and Kira on a date, Josefumi brings June along and he screams internally. Next time heâs bringing Chiko along too to keep June occupied.

quirofiliacâ:
Upon the mention of âkittensâ, he actually couldnât help but perk upâ if only by a little. Itâs a subtle motion (quite similar to the mannerisms of the cats he was, ahem, somewhat excited to see, actually.) thatâs a âblink and you miss itâ, but it nonetheless does plainly reveal his true feelings regarding the subject.
Both hands came to join together, joining in a halfhearted embrace (his palms feel a little sweatier than usual. hm, he might need to invest in a larger bottle of lotion for times like these.) as he listened. Eyes wandered, pulling away from the tips of his shoes before jumping to and fro. They steal a glance at Chikoâs expression (canât help but hone in on the subtle smirk tugging at her lips.) first prior to moving on to different spots that decreased more and more in importance with each jump.
â⌠O-Oh,â he finally managed whilst attempting to hide his excitement once more. Fingers entwined more formally with thumbs briefly rubbing against one another, leaving for both of his hands to rest idly a few spaces beneath his navel. âMaybe Iâ ⌠Maybe I shouldâŚâ
He mumbled something (low and borderline incoherent. one would have to lean in for a better listen.)Â with a slow turn of the head. His eyes immediately avert, searching frantically for an insignificant object to hog his focus.
â⌠Maybe I should⌠head home first to⌠uh, grab⌠s-some toys for them?â
A large portion of himself simply hoped that she hadnât heard him.
Chiko had been too busy thinking about seeing kittens herself that she hadnât been paying attention to Kiraâs expression at all. She had been day dreaming about the kinds of kittens theyâd see - sheâd always wanted a kitten but her mother had always said no. Chiko isnât going to bring up how she makes it a point to go to a cat cafe at least two to three times a week, itâs a great stress reliever.
Her attention is back on Kira now, she knows sheâll go with or without him but she wonders if maybe heâd actually enjoy going to a cat cafe. She hadnât even asked if he had been more of a cat or dog person... Chiko would attempt to guess, but she was never really good at those things. She watched him carefully already hearing what sounded to be a hint of hesitation in his answer. Cue Chiko pouting at him... just a little bit.
She waits for a moment allowing for Kira to finish his thought before speaking up once again, âMaybe you should...?â she tries to contain her excitement in her voice, but she canât hide the smile on her features anymore. It seems as though Kira really is leaning towards saying yes. Chiko has never gone to a Cat Cafe with anyone else before, so this might be fun to have someone else to go with! Although this also meant that sheâs going to be forced to hold a conversation with him... Well, maybe not. One thing she liked about Kira was that he usually seemed to keep to himself a lot much like she did, it made interacting with a person of the opposite sex much easier.
Chiko hears somewhat of a mumbled response following his sentence, but she isnât sure if she heard what Kira said correctly. She heard something about going back home, but wasnât sure what he wanted to get. Maybe Kira-san forgot his wallet? No, he doesnât seem like the type of guy who would forget something important.
âAh, did you forget something at home? Thatâs ok if you need to stop by home first. I can always just meet you at the cat cafe. I can message you the location of the one to meet at.âÂ
fairytalewrittenâ:
Kira knew it was probably not the smartest idea to make himself known, but he couldnât help but enjoy taking the occasional risk⌠Especially considering the fact that Chiko was one of the few female coworkers he didnât hate. In all honesty, she was the one he could see himself liking the most even. He was unsure whether that was a good or a bad thing though.
âMy apologies, it wasnât my intention to surprise youâ, he chuckled charmingly, giving her as much of a friendly smile as he could.
âYou seemed⌠unhappy lately, so I thought you might like some company.â
Coincidence - this must certainly have been a coincidence... or did he just admit to following her? If it had been any other of her coworkers then maybe Chiko wouldâve felt frightened, but, because it was Kira Yoshikage she had felt more at ease. She smiled briefly before shaking her head and bowing politely in his direction - she should at least greet him then.Â
âOh. No itâs ok. Iâm sorry, Kira-san. I didnât actually know you were behind me at all...â maybe he had been trying to get her attention but she wasnât paying attention and didnât notice him - surely that had to be it. Chiko was surprised when Kira mentioned spending time with her though.Â
âSome company? I donât mean to be rude, Kira-san, but wouldnât you much rather spend time with someone else? I donât think Iâm very interesting at all.â
Because there is an age difference between Chiko and her half-sister Yukako (thereâs 12 years between them. Chiko is 28 and Yukako is 16) Chiko has always felt a bit distant from her sister seeing as itâs a bit to find things they have in common. She knows her sister likes to talk about her crush at school a lot and Chiko tried to connect with her by saying she has a crush on a coworker, but Yukako seemed to brush Chiko off. lol. :â) Sheâs trying her best , but at the same time she doesnât try too hard either. Chiko figures it is what it is, sheâs always felt a little at odds with her sister anyways since they have different fathers and Chiko felt like the odd one out.Â
If only you could đŹđŞđđ đŽđŚâŚÂ
I canât đĽđđ that happen.              I donât đ°đđ§đ to die.Â
So even if I đĽđŚđ´đŚđłđˇđŚ itâŚÂ
                         Good luck.Â

⌠Stop eavesdropping.
Stop being weird.
quirofiliac
i mean this as respectfully as possible-- mind your business, chiko. please.
Then donât talk so loud.Â
âThey must be stopped.â
fairytalewrittenâ:
Kiraâs heart almost felt like it wanted to stop for a moment⌠sheâd noticed him? Wasnât she scared? That was odd⌠most certainly odd. After all these years, heâd become incredibly good at keeping himself undiscovered. His feet were as quiet as a catâs paws creeping around. And even if he wanted his victims to notice⌠He was so used to the women he followed feeling afraid and wanting to get away once they noticed him⌠why wasnât that the case for her?
âWell, if youâre offering⌠I wouldnât be opposed to.â
Either way, this might be entertaining⌠no matter how sheâd react to him, he was absolutely convinced heâd find a way out of the situation. Yoshikage Kira was an incredibly lucky man who had never encountered any problems with his murders before - at least none he couldnât solve.
Although Chiko had just speaking out into the darkness she was almost a bit startled when she realized someone had actually been following her. Her eyes widened for a moment until she realized the person following her had been someone she knew - Kira Yoshikage, a coworker of hers at Kameyu. Had he really been following her or was it just a strange coincidence? She wasnât entirely sure... She had heard of men stalking their female coworkers, but, Kira Yoshikage didnât seem to be this type of person, right?Â
â...Kira-san?â
She had to make sure - maybe her eyes were deceiving her. Maybe... Maybe it was just a coincidence. Maybe Kira needed to head this way too... No. Sheâd never seen him around this area before. Perhaps he was going to visit a friend? She didnât understand why she kept trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. This was already proving to be a strange situation...Â
âWere you... following me?â

fairytalewrittenâ:
Yoshikage Kira was a man who appreciated his calm, peaceful life, and with it, the dull and boring office job he had. Though he was sure humans werenât meant to be locked up in a grey, hopeless building all day, porched together like pigs, sitting quietly at their desks and staring at the same damn screen for eight hours. Other people found relief from their painfully boring routine with sports, music or art, but he had his own ways⌠A hobby he couldnât share with anyone.
Chiko Oyama had been on his mind for a while now⌠he had often caught himself watching her fingers slide across her keyboard as she typed, and wanting to touch them. Her quietness and facial expressions fascinated him. Other women were all over him, swooning and giggling and squeaking - it was terribly annoying. But Chiko was⌠well, not half as annoying. His urges were intense⌠with her scent in his nose and lured by it like a hungry dog, he followed her, already fantasizing about what heâd do to her hands once heâd watched her life fade from her eyes.
As Chiko continued to walk towards her apartment at a much slower pace now, she did turn to look to see if she could see anyone behind her. Was someone actually following her? Chiko wasnât actually sure- she didnât really see anyone, but she thought she did see movement in the shadows. It could just be her mind playing tricks on her... Maybe hoping and wishing someone had actually been there. She shook her head and focused on the path in front of her once again.
Before actually reaching her apartment she stopped once more looking back again when the lighting was better... Was someone actually behind her? She was probably just so tired and overworked that she was seeing things maybe. She decided to entertain the idea by actually âconfrontingâ her stalker. âDid you want to come inside and spend the evening with me?â she felt silly for even asking the darkness... She wished someone was actually there to spend the evening with her. How pathetic.Â
quirofiliacâ:
â⌠Um⌠ahââ
He fidgets just a little (thumbs twiddle and fingers connect awkwardly.) with a subtle shifting of his feet. Kira muses to himself, going as far as to look away with his lips contorting clumsy, little motionsâ he mouths to himself. Perhaps, heâs recreating the conversation (chiko says she knows of a âcat cafeâ. kira says he didnât know they existed. chiko keeps on the subject, but kira acts⌠disinterested.) in a manner that feels most comfortable to him.
One arm lifts to bend itself behind his head, allowing for him to scratch idly at the nape of his neck. Eyes avert themselves (tries to think of an excuse but canât seem to think much of anything.) to feign the idea of thought.
âIâ I wouldnât⌠be opposed?â he answered, somewhat concerned towards his own willingness.
She canât help but watch Kiraâs hesitation - itâs a bit unusual, yet expected she supposed. Most men didnât seem as eager as women when it came to going to cat cafes, or at least thatâs what sheâs observed. Although the times sheâs gone to the cat cafes sheâs noticed that both men and women were equally enjoying the cafe ( as they should).Â
The more Kira hesitates the more Chiko is tempted to tease him about it a little - she should bring up how heâd be missing out on cute cats if he refused to go - but sheâll give him a moment to respond first. Sheâs watching his body language carefully almost expecting him to deny her invitation, but sheâs pleasantly surprised.
âYou wonât regret it, Kira-san. Itâs actually quite relaxing you know. Sometimes you get to see kittens too.âÂ
