“or waiting a day will mean that the perfect animal is there and ready for you.” john leaned back in his chair, very obviously fighting a smile. “besides. we don’t have any supplies to be taking care of an animal yet. you get your mother’s approval, you decide what type of pet you want andget the supplies you need, and only then will we get you a pet.”

okay  ,  this  was  turning  into  a  game  of  chess. who  could  out move  the  other  but  rosie  was  not  going  to  give  up. “supplies  are  not  hard  to  find  dad.  it’s  not  like  i’m  asking  for  a  PONY.” rosie  commented  ,  a  small  pout  forming  on  her  lips. “i’m  just  saying  ,  we  both  know  mum  will  say  yes.  she  loves  me  and  would  never  say  no. so  can  we  just  get  a  pet.”

john sighed. he should have told her sooner or at least worked up to a reveal. ripping the bandage hadn’t been the best method, but at least it had gotten an honest response from her. that was really all he’d expected. had he wanted a better outcome? yes. of course. he’d prefer her follow his or mary’s footsteps but trying to force her wouldn’t accomplish anything. “i love your mother. i love you. none of that was a lie. there’s just more to the story you hadn’t been told.” he offered. “but you’re an adult now. you get to choose your own path even if it’s a different one from us.”

rosie  listened  to  him  and  rolled  her  eyes.  love  does  love  make  you  lie  for  someone’s  whole  life. “come  on  then  ,  as  you’re  determined  to  tell  me  the  story.  tell  me  it  all.  make  me  UNDERSTAND  why  you  decided  to  tell  me  ,  tell  me  the  real  you  and  why  you  are  who  you  are?  and  of  course  i  would  choose  a  different  path.  i’m  not  like  you  at  all.”

she takes another deep breath and removes her hand from rosie’s arm. in for a penny, in for a pound, right? “your father was originally my employer. he had this idea of, i don’t know, playing with your godfather. playing mental games with him. it went as well as you could imagine.” she crosses her arms, looking at her feet. “having you, at least to me, changed things. i was ready to give it up. move on. be good parents. your father, well, clearly has other plans.” she lets the breath she’d be holding go. this was exactly what she was afraid of. but no, it’ll be fine. her husband, the genius. “why would i bother lying now? why should i? you already know the worst of it.”

rosie  looked  at  her  mother  and  sucked  in  some  air. “wait ..  wait.”  she  commented  with  a  wrinkle  of  her  forehead.  sherlock  ,  why  would  he  do  that. “DOES  sherlock  know  about  this?” although  she  knows  the  answer  already  ,  he  doesn’t  know  any  of  this.  if  he  did  ,  this  situation  wouldn’t  be  happening  right  now. “and  i  dont  know  why  you  would  lie  to  me  ,  but  you’ve  lied  for  18  years  of  my  life.  call  me  skeptical  if  you  want.”

she  can’t  help  but  STARE  at  the  photo. she  would  be  like  this  with  any  photo  of  an  animal.  rosie  loves  looking  at  them  ,  herself  a  photographer  of  wildlife  and  animals.  “every  photo  shows  an  animals  personality  and  i  can  certainly  see  that  here.”  she  commented  with  a  grin  on  her  lips. “and  if  i  was  cheddar  ,  i  would  love  to  show  off  that  bowtie  too.”

HEADCANON  001: miss  rosie  watson  &.  her  tattoo’s.

so  as  i  mentioned  on  rosie’s  stats  page  ,  rosie  has  two  tattoo’s.  her  first  one  on  her  right  wrist  and  her  second  is  on  her  collar  bone  ,  the  left  side.  so  here  is  a  little  headcanon  /  meta  or  whatever  you  want  to  call  it.  

so  ,  rosie  got  her  first  tattoo  on  21st  september  ,  when  she  was  16.  yes  ,  she  got  it  with  a  fake  i.d.  rosie  didn’t  want  to  go  down  the  sterotypical  route  of  just  getting  a  rose  on  her  wrist  ,  she  wanted  something  different.  yes  it  is  a  flower  ,  but  a  peony  instead.  peony  flowers  are  one  of  her  favourites  and  it’s  also  the  fact  that  it  resembles  honor  ,  compassion  and  romance  as  those  are  the  things  that  rosie  wants  in  her  life  and  also  SEE’S  herself  as.  also  ,  a  peony  flower  has  many  layers  to  it  ,  many  petals  to  peel  back  before  you  see  the  true  beauty  of  the  flower.  the  petals  are  a  guard  ,  PROTECTION  in  fact.  this  is  what  rosie  feels  like.  she  has  her  own  guard  up  ,  making  people  only  see  what  she  wants  them  to  see  and  that  she  also  has  layers  ,  petals  that  need  to  be  pulled  back  to  see  the  true  rosie.  her  wrist  tattoo  is  the  personification  of  herself.
