I'm really tired of posts that are like "transitioning will fix all your problems and heal your mental health issues! You don't need therapy or psych meds or critical thought, just transition!"

NO. This is why so many of y'all are such goddamn assholes. Being trans doesn't fix you, you still need to deal with your shit and make an effort to be kind to the people around you. It's great that easing your dysphoria helped your depression; that's not the same as curing your mental illnesses or being a good person.

Being trans doesn't absolve you of being racist or transphobic or ableist or classist or even just a generally miserable person to be around. Being trans isn't going to make your trauma and related behaviors disappear. Do better.
