I’ve decided to post all of the progress here as well, not just on instagram. Some people have asked to be tagged once I post some progress, but I can’t remember who they were. So if you wanna see future progress, let me know and I’ll tag you!
This one may not look too different from the previous one, but nothing really turned out the way I intended to.
The colors, the textures, the focus, the sounds, the camera, everything just seems so off, and oh boy the animation… this is the result of rushing and not knowing what I’m doing, just inserting keyframes, tweaking the graph editor and hoping for the best. So maybe signing up for this project wasn’t a great idea after all lol. Plus the datapad’s not even fully textured, you can literally see where I started adding details on the front, then for some reason I just left off lol
One thing I’ll definitely work on in the future is the menu itself, because if this project is for a graphic design thesis, then I might as well try to make the only thing that has something to do with it look more presentable. I’ll definitely be changing up the fonts, and I have some other ideas for the background as well.
But for now, I’ll move on to the remaining 5 character menu animations. Originally there were gonna be 5, not 7. At first I was randomly picking out the characters I wanted to make one for, then I realized, it’d probably be best, if each squad got one animation. The 501st gets Rex, the 212th gets Cody, the CG gets Fox, the 104th gets Wolffe, and the 241st gets Tukk. CF99 got Hunter but I really wanted to make one for Tech as well, since modeling and texturing him took the longest 💀
Once all of that’s done, I can finally move on to animating the trailer video. Which I’m terrified of, but oh well lol
The hum of the Republic cruiser was a steady, soothing sound as it glided through hyperspace. The interior of the vessel, with its sleek, streamlined design, was bathed in soft, ambient light. The atmosphere was calm, but a sense of anticipation lingered in the air. Minda Blackthorn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Qui-Gon Jinn were en route to Naboo for a crucial diplomatic mission with the Trade Federation.
The trio stood in the spacious common area of the cruiser, which was elegantly appointed but not quite private. The two human pilots, their faces illuminated by the control panels, were absorbed in their tasks, leaving the Jedi to converse among themselves. Qui-Gon was deep in thought, his gaze distant, while Obi-Wan occasionally stole glances at Minda, who seemed preoccupied with a decision.
Minda’s usual brown Jedi robes, the familiar attire of her early days as a padawan, had served her well over the years. Yet today, she felt a surge of nostalgia and a touch of excitement. She had decided to use the downtime wisely and change into a new outfit—a gift from a grateful ally she had helped during her time as Mace Windu's padawan.
As Minda disappeared into the small changing area, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon exchanged curious glances. The ship’s interior, though functional, was not designed for privacy, and the slight rustling of fabric and the muted sounds of changing could be faintly heard.
Moments later, Minda emerged, her new attire a striking departure from her traditional Jedi garb. Her outfit was a sophisticated blend of white, black, and red. The tunic was black with red accents, elegantly designed with a high collar that framed her face. One sleeve was notably longer than the other, adding a touch of drama to her ensemble. The pants were white with a bold red accent on the hip, complementing the black and red theme.
Her metal belt gleamed, and the silver circlet she wore on her head caught the light with a subtle sparkle. The white gloves and black boots completed the look, while a metal armband with intricate designs and matching bracelets adorned her arms. The white cloak and undershirt added a regal touch, and her overall appearance exuded a sense of both elegance and authority.
Obi-Wan, unable to hide his surprise, looked her up and down with a mixture of admiration and amusement. “You look like you’ve stepped out of a holosuite fashion show,” he said with a teasing grin. “I suppose the Trade Federation will have to get used to seeing their negotiations attended by someone who might outshine their diplomats.”
Minda gave a playful smirk, adjusting her new belt with a flourish. “Well, if it makes them a bit uncomfortable and helps us get a better deal, I’d call that a success.”
At that moment, the ship’s comm system crackled to life, announcing their approach. “Confirmation to land on the Trade Federation Control Ship. Prepare for landing procedures.”
Qui-Gon turned his attention from the distant stars to the present task. “It seems our timing is impeccable. Let’s make sure our presence is as impactful as our appearance.”
With the ship beginning its descent, Minda’s new outfit seemed to embody her growth from a young padawan to a seasoned Jedi Knight. As they prepared to disembark, the sense of camaraderie among the Jedi was palpable. Qui-Gon’s mentorship, Obi-Wan’s continued growth, and Minda’s distinctive presence all contributed to the mission’s momentum.
The Republic cruiser touched down smoothly, the ramp descending with a hiss. The trio readied themselves, stepping out onto the Trade Federation Control Ship with confidence and purpose.

The grand hall of the Jedi Temple was bathed in the soft glow of Coruscant's setting sun. The chamber, usually filled with the quiet hum of meditative thought, now buzzed with anticipation. Jedi from across the galaxy had gathered, their robes rustling softly as they took their places around the ceremonial platform.
At the center stood Mace Windu, his presence commanding yet serene. Before him knelt Minda Blackthorn, her blonde hair cascading freely around her shoulders, her yellow lightsaber hilt clipped to her belt. At five foot one, she was diminutive in stature but radiated an aura of strength and determination. Her lean, muscular frame spoke of years of rigorous training and unwavering dedication to the Jedi Order.
To the side, among the gathered Jedi, stood Obi-Wan Kenobi, his padawan braid trailing over his shoulder, his eyes fixed intently on Minda. Beside him was his master, Qui-Gon Jinn, his gaze steady and approving.
Mace Windu raised his lightsaber, the purple blade humming to life. "Minda Blackthorn, you have shown great courage, wisdom, and strength. Today, you transition from Padawan to Jedi Knight. Do you accept the responsibilities and duties that come with this honor?"
Minda looked up, her brown eyes filled with a mixture of pride and humility. "I do, Master Windu."
With a swift motion, Mace brought the blade down, severing the padawan braid that symbolized Minda's years of apprenticeship. The braid fell to the floor, and a murmur of approval rippled through the crowd.
"Rise, Jedi Knight Minda Blackthorn," Mace Windu proclaimed. Minda stood, feeling the weight of her new title settle upon her shoulders.
As she turned to face the assembled Jedi, Mace continued, "In recognition of your exceptional skills and dedication, the Jedi Council has decided to bestow upon you another honor. You are hereby made a member of the Valkyries, the all-female team of Jedi Knights who have shown unparalleled bravery and excellence in their service."
The announcement was met with a chorus of respectful murmurs and nods. The Valkyries were legendary within the Order, their members known for their extraordinary prowess and unwavering commitment to justice.
Minda felt a swell of pride and a sense of belonging as she glanced towards a group of women, their eyes gleaming with approval and welcome. She was now one of them, a Valkyrie.
Mace Windu's voice cut through her thoughts. "Jedi Knight Blackthorn, your first assignment as a member of the Valkyries will be to accompany Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi on a mission to Naboo. The Council believes your presence will be invaluable."
Minda's eyes met Obi-Wan's, a spark of shared excitement passing between them. She inclined her head respectfully to Master Windu. "Thank you, Master. I will not disappoint you."
As the ceremony concluded, Obi-Wan made his way to Minda, his face breaking into a warm smile. "Congratulations, Minda," he said, his voice filled with genuine pride. "You deserve this."
"Thank you, Obi-Wan," Minda replied, her eyes softening as she looked at him. "It means a lot to have you here."
Qui-Gon approached, his presence calm and reassuring. "We are honored to have you join us on this mission, Minda. Your skills and insights will be greatly valued."
Minda bowed her head. "I am honored to serve alongside you both."
As the crowd began to disperse, Minda found herself standing beside Obi-Wan, the weight of the ceremony and the anticipation of their upcoming mission settling in.
"You ready for Naboo?" Obi-Wan asked, his tone light but his eyes serious.
"More than ready," Minda replied with a determined smile. "Let's show the galaxy what the Jedi—and the Valkyries—can do."
Together, they turned to leave the hall, their paths now intertwined by destiny and the Force, unaware of the challenges and trials that awaited them on Naboo and beyond.
