I’ve created these instructions so you can easily make non-surgical face masks to wear when you go out-out.

Here in the UK, they have decided we should cover our faces in crowded places (that could be the start of a poem). This won’t necessarily stop us catching the virus but it may prevent us spreading it to other people.

I’m feeling fragile this morning. Another not so good sleep and worrying times regarding my son. He’s have a PICC line inserted into a vein in his arm today so that he can restart IV chemo. This is because the low dose chemo he was having wasn’t strong enough, and the leukaemia cells have been increasing. He’s needed lots of blood transfusions because the leukaemia messes up his blood counts.…

I purchased some yarn in a colour scheme I found on Pinterest. My aim was to make my blankets more coordinated. It worked to a point, but I wasn’t using a pattern and my blanket went a bit wonky.

I tried a different method of joining the squares and I do like the effect, even if it was a bit fiddly.

There are always things I feel I can improve on, but overall I’m pleased with how it turned out. It took a long time to put it all together, and I am learning all the time.

Tasks for today

My tasks for today include setting up a “studio” so I can finish my birthday vlog. This means I need to tidy up whatever is in the background, make sure I have good lighting, eliminate as much outside noise as I can and make sure I have my props ready and I know what I’m going to say.

Day 46: VE Day (75th Anniversary)

Did anyone notice I had made a small error numbering the days? No? Good, then I got away with it, phew! … It was just the *brilliant mathematician* in the house that worked it out! *not me

I found it easy to go back and amend the titles using the quick edit function on WordPress. So my error actually directed me to learning something new.

Today I am making bunting to hang from the balcony for VE Day tomorrow. I have some material scraps I’m going to cut into triangles and roughly stitch to some ribbon.

You don’t have to use material, you could make paper bunting if it’s for indoors.

Day 43: Bread, Balloons and Cake

I don’t have many words to say today as it is getting late. I didn’t feel well this morning but I managed to make some bread.

My husband surprised me with a cream tea delivered to our door this afternoon. The sun was shining and it was warm enough to open the balcony door, so we enjoyed a couple of hours fresh air while eating our lovely treat.

Day 42: 50 years!

Today was my 50th birthday, and I didn’t know what to expect with the world being what it is at the moment.
