I think all the trolls besides Gamzee can die and Lord English and the Alpha session can still happen. Because it's only the humans who fight during Caliborn's masterpiece. Because the trolls aren't important and originally weren't suppose to be as relevant as they ended up being. But if Terezi represents Calliope and Calliope represents the audience's love for characters and relationships, then Terezi represents the audience's desire to see more of the trolls and see shipping. Terezi is implied to kiss Karkat right after killing Vriska, and then Karkat tells John to kiss Rose and we also see Jade have to kiss Dave, fulfillment of Karkat's shipping chart and of at least one ship we know from meta-textual knowledge Hussie was annoyed people shipped from the beginning. Of course if Caliborn's masterpiece is still canon in a way that is more canon than other things since it is such an important event, all the kids still need to be alive for it so one can assume the corpse smooching would have had to happen anyway, with things as they were. Does Caliborn ever speak to any trolls besides Gamzee? Does Calliope? I can't remember. Calliope loves trolls but that's because she's a Homestuck fan and Homestuck fans love the trolls even though trolls aren't real. Humans are more real than trolls.

I too enjoy hurting and abusing characters in fiction very much but could we not have thought of a word that sounds slightly less stupid than Whump about it.
