“I am Iron Man.”
A tribute to the best character of the MCU, the one who made it all possible. Robert Downey Jr. not only gave us Tony Stark but a billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, hero who will live forever in our hearts.
Thank you, for starting us on this journey and giving us 11 incredible years with Tony Stark. Thank you for letting us grow with you, learn with you, redeem with you, and teaching us that heroes are made by the paths they choose, not the powers they are graced with. We love you 3000.

”I’m just a kid from Brooklyn.”
A tribute to one of the best characters of the MCU, brought to magnificent life thanks to the hard work of Chris Evans. He not only gave us a living incarnation of Captain America but imbued him with the best of his personality and vulnerabilities.
Thank you for 8 years of the best Steve Rogers we could’ve hoped for, and no matter what happens in Endgame, we’re with you until the end of the line, Cap.

Rambling thoughts on the Good Girls finale and what I would have loved to see next
Season five would have KILLED absolutely gutted it isn’t happening
I loved getting Rio’s laughter back especially after the sadness before. When he realised that Beth was playing nick ❤️
I don’t like or fully understand this seasons Stan. I hate that Beth gets all his anger, she didn’t force this on anyone. I don’t think either of them will leave when they find out about Annie
I’m glad Beth and dean are finally done it was so so long coming. But I think it’s how in a place where they can be better
The last scene ❤️ I just need all the fics of how these two crazy people build a life of crime. Someone mentioned somewhere Beth having to teach a ‘how to launder money’ workshop and Omhg I need that. Abs I need Rio to ‘see’ that. All the early scenes when they were secret shopping were gold and I’d love to see Rio and others reactions to how Beth does things
I love that we got a Darlin and a councilwoman. Would have liked a last Elizabeth
I’m still surprised Nick took the fall even fir his grandmother.
The Mick thing I’m still not down with. Not at all. I don’t know why but it’s not computing in my head
Dean realising it’s done when she won’t turn him in even after she thinks he shot her was it for me.
Finally Annie. This is why We needed season five! Ben is not going to be amused and I want to see him kick everybody up the damn arse to get his mother out. And you totally know the SS guys want to help
In conclusion it wasn’t always perfect but damn I’m going to miss this show!!! Where is all the fanfic !!!!!!

I’m completely over the moon with all the brio content that occurred in 4x06 and I don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I’m wondering what you see Rio thinking when Beth reached for his belt. I’m just not quite connecting the dots I think because it felt kind of...random to me? Like, she says that it’s not fair that she’d be excluded from the business if his family doesn’t like her and then she goes for his pants. It seems like you have a very keen sense for character motivations and I’d love to hear what you think his perspective was in that scene and why he chose to lean into the moment instead of rebuff her because she was acting suspicious. Like I said, I’m THRILLED, just feel like I’m missing the party because I don’t quite understand why things happened the way they did. 😭
Tbh this is something that tripped me up and that I’m still not entirely solid on my reading, but here are my initial thoughts.
There’s two things I don’t think should be ignored: the show has an established history of Beth balking or determinedly standing her ground at the suggestion sexual coercion (Boomer, the man in the drug den, Fitzpatrick, Troy) and then the obvious parallel to Beth snapping and grabbing for Fitzpatrick’s belt when she was yelling at him that he had made it very clear that this was what she “had” to do to get him to do his job. I personally read that scene as Beth behaving aggressively in order to turn Fitzpatrick off to her because she shed her demure role and took off her mask.
In this scene, Beth reaches for the belt and there’s a motivation outside a desire for intimacy for the sexual act in terms of wanting to distract Rio and maybe to even please him in hopes of getting an invite back in order to keep the Secret Service investigation going, but the logic falls apart from there.
Beth doesn’t need to initiate sex to distract Rio. He’s not looking for the wire and his back is turned. Beth has the ability to lead him out of the room and away from the wire with a plausible excuse—returning to the party because his family is waiting—but she doesn’t. Instead, she keeps him in the exact place she doesn’t want him to be for longer.
Initiating sex in order to keep the Secret Service deception in play doesn’t quite work either. She’s got Rio talking and telling her about his family and business—valuable information. Instead of pressing for more while they’re (seemingly) in private, she pivots so that they become silent and stop talking. Not only that, throughout the conversation, her dialogue is ambiguous and reveals her hesitation with the plan, even if she presses forward with it at the end of the episode when she tells Dean about it (setting herself up for chaos when she ultimately fails).
I read the Fitzpatrick parallel as a contrast. Like I said—we have repeated references to Beth standing her ground against unwanted sexual contact (the only exception being with her own husband in an attempt to get pregnant to save her own life). Unlike the moment with Fitzpatrick—obviously a disingenuous initiation where the mask is dropped—the initiation with Rio seems to be a moment where the mask is on. She plays up being coy and coquettish, batting her eyelashes and aiming to pleasure him.
It reads as distraction, as manipulation, as desperation—but like I said. The logic falls apart based on Beth’s characterization and the fact that the episode established that although Beth says she’s afraid of Rio, the tide has really changed. Her dream sequence reveals that she’s not stewing over the possibility that Rio might kill her if he finds out what she’s doing. What’s actually weighing on her is the idea of simply disappointing him and betraying his trust. All of those reasons are false motivations that make up the mask to hide what Beth really wants.
Rio gently grabbing her wrist and shaking his head while looking her in the eye as he pulls up her skirt is Rio calling her on it. He’s not going to let her pretend that this is anything but what it is: Beth wants him. He turns her on. Despite everything else, the intimacy they share is real. He knows it. He wants her to know it too.
So he touches her. He feels exactly how turned on he can get her in just a few seconds. He hears her pant in his ear. He makes her fall apart on his hand. And he knows that she knows that that wasn’t faked. It was real.
Rio cut through the bullshit in the wire scene in her kitchen and here he cut through the bullshit in his grandmother’s house. This is the truth, raw and bare, and he didn’t need to get her naked to see it this time.
They’re each holding something over the other’s head (the fingerprinted gun, the fingerprinted cash). They’re each setting each other up as their fall guy (the secret service, the banker). They’re each stringing each other along with half-truths (the “if I make another cookie I’ll die” speech, the eight ball shot in exchange for the loan). They’re each diminishing what this is (Beth says she just needs him alive, Rio says she’s just a work friend).
But this episode, Beth said they were partners and Rio didn’t correct her.
They’re on the same page. The power is rebalancing.
And in the midst of all that, they’re remembering that they like each other.
Just wanted to put in my 2 cents here.
'The logic falls apart based on Beth's characterization..'
I don't think it does, not really, i mean? We saw her making moves two times before and every time it was rather unexpected. Both times she felt there was smth going on between the two of them. Something raw and real. And she wanted to connect.
Being there with Rio's family, seeing his abuelas home, their pictures, eating with them, chatting with them, sitting next to him (!) is the closet she ever got to him. And the image of him is the most real right now. He is real. A real human being. Not just some gangster who pops up when he needs smth from her. His family knows her while she knew nothing about them. Didn't even know they existed until now! Isn't it mind blowing?!
So is it so illogical she makes a move again in order to connect with him in the most real way she knows? No, not really. Is it also a bit manipulative too? Yeah probably. But isn't everything abt them?
One thing is for sure. They like each other. Even when they don't.
I mean the logic falls apart that she’s only doing it out of manipulation and a distraction because the show has clearly demonstrated that Beth initiates intimacy when she feels an emotional connect to Rio. She’s pretending her motivation is something it’s not, and Rio calls her on it.

As so often happens during AO3's twice-annual donation drives, people keep asking why AO3 gets more than their goal and yet [individal] can't get their GoFundMe funded.
There are various reasons, of course - and if I'm honest, I'm more angry about those GoFundMes needing to exist at all than I am about how people choose to allot their charitable giving. But I think the one that no one accounts for is just sheer numbers.
As I write this, it's the Sunday of the April donation drive of 2021. The goal was $50,000 (down from previous years) and right now the total is $257,812.43. That's a lot of money - to an individual. But AO3 is a website, not a person, and it's a site used by 3,581,000 registered users (according to the front page when I'm logged out).
Do the math on that. 3.5 million users donated a total of $250K. That works out to each registered user donating a little over 7 cents. When you consider that there are even more people who don't have accounts, it's more likely the equivalent of each person chipping in a nickel or less.
So yes, AO3 hits its goal every time and yes, they surpass it. They're a valued part of fandom for a lot of people, but even still the number of individual people who donate money is usually less than ten thousand. Out of three and a half million.
I too am outraged that people need to set up GoFundMes in order to pay their medical bills or their rent, but it's not AO3's fault that those funds need to exist and it's not AO3's fault that they reach enough people that a tiny percent of those people can fill their goal.

Dameron’s commitment is absolute, and he’s our best pilot. He’ll get what we need. I’ve never worried about Poe’s commitment. My worry is for what that commitment may cost him.
I don't know if it's that deep, but I suddenly realized the difference between why Steve became Captain America and why John Walker became Captain America, and how that relates to Sam so well.
Steve never got picked for the serum because he was particularly tall or strong or skilled or smart, he got picked because Erskine saw something good in him, something special he knew would become even greater with the serum.
Erskine specifically didn't pick the obvious choice he was pressured to pick by others, which was Hodge at the time. Like Col. Phillips said, "Hodge passed every test we gave him. He's big, he's fast and he obeys orders. He's a soldier", does that remind you of someone?
John Walkers is big, fast, and he obeys orders. He's a soldier.
Steve never chose Sam because he was big or fast or a good soldier, he chose Sam because of why Erskine had chosen him; his good heart and the determination to do what's right. He saw that in Sam, the goodness of his heart, his determination and the strong will to help others no matter the cost.
That's why Sam is Captain America, even without the shield. The shield is not Cap, the heart is. The shield is a tangible symbol, one you can hold up and claim as yours, but the "not a perfect soldier but a good man" metaphor of Erskine is what's most essential, and that can't be forced by governmental support or flashy public stunts.
John Walker with his missions and skills and orders may be a perfect soldier, but Sam is a good man. A good man who kicks ass
And that's why Sam Wilson is Captain America.
Love this, Steve will always be my hearts captain America but Sam is the captain the world needs
Still love these two dorks

So hubby and son have now decided to communicate through Memes in real life. After getting tired of repeated lectures of clean room/ put washing away etc etc Hubby has now taken to leaving this image next to anything that needs fixing. Have to admit it is working !!! But seriously where did I find these guys
i was thinking this morning about how i categorize fanfic authors that i enjoy like AKC breeds and decided to share my rubric with you:
the specialist: this author has a favorite kink or trope and has written 80% of the content in that tag. you know exactly what you’re getting. they have A Brand™️. no matter what other traits they display, dedicated rare pair authors belong here.
the chocolate box: essentially the exact opposite. this author will try anything once. they have 80+ works in the fandom with no discernible pattern. the shortest one is 268 words and the longest is well over 100k. this breed of author may or may not be related to:
the renaissance fan: they’ve written three things in your fandom: your favorite fic, your notp, and a bizarre crossover with a show you’ve never heard of. you hit “expand fandoms list” on their author page and have to scroll down twice to reach the bottom. whenever you curse the fact that you can’t legally commission fic writers, this is the author you’re thinking about.
the horn dog: they’re here for one thing and one thing only. if someone’s dick is not in another character’s mouth within 500 words, they apologize for it in the author’s notes. they have one (1) g-rated fic.
the rookie: this writer is usually young, new to fandom, or just got a beta-reader for the first time. their fics are a little all over the place, quality-wise, but you’re excited whenever their name pops up because their unique voice gets stronger every time. you feel a personal investment in their development, like you’re an old man reading the local high school sports page and saying “this kid’s the one to watch.”
the live streamer: the most prolific author in the fandom. their works are all over the front page when you sort by kudos. you have no idea how they generate this much work, and have seriously wondered if they have access to an extra-dimensional time portal. their stories are usually un-beta’d and the characterization varies wildly, but their best works are inspired and you’ve read them 30 times.
the cryptid: this one comes out of nowhere every two years, drops the best fanfic you’ve ever read, and disappears. fifteen months after you left a three paragraph comment about how they changed your life, you get a message in your inbox that just says “thanks.”
the novelist: we talk about “filing off the serial numbers” when someone reworks their most popular story to pitch it as an original novel; this author somehow does the reverse. their fics are excellent, usually long-reaching multi-chapter AUs that have almost nothing to do with the on-screen characters except their names. i’d like to extend my personal thanks to this breed of author because it’s the closest i get to reading an actual book.
the reunion tour: this author wrote some of the most popular works in the fandom, but either moved on to k-pop or burned out when canon took a turn for the worse. they put out one new thing a year, often an old draft that’s been haunting them from under the floorboards. their last six author’s notes all say they never thought they’d write this pairing again and “this will probably be the last time.”
who did i miss?
Damn these are accurate.
