ive said this before, but there should have been more liars in arcane. not like "they think what theyre saying is true", but straight up lyin machine, for fun and profit. lying to the audience, lying to the characters.
they could have had it with ambessa but the whole noxus thing was so dumb they fumbled the bag on it.
i think Mel is so much more interesting and compelling to me as a piltover chracter (/rich upper class character, i guess she's technically noxian but she IS on the piltovian council so) than Cait because to me, Mel seems to hav a much better understanding of how the world works and her role in it, and how she can use that role. the way Caitlyn is written, especially in s2, is almost.... naive? to me? like she's not even a very compelling enemy of Zaun. Mel knows the game, she has no illusions on the situation of the Upper- and Undercity, and she plays it both for her own gain and for how she believes is the best way to lead Piltover (and crucially! to avoid war, a bit of a core characteristic of her).
Villain!Caitlyn is just. kinda boring. i'm a bit bord by her, and i wish i wasn't. Naive Caitlyn with idealistic views of how the Enforcers work is fine, i think that's a very believable and compelling characteristic. Her learning more about how the Undercity works, how people suffer (when she realised "holy shit, they beat prisoners up in Stillwater!" that was good! it should've been lingered on more/brought up again ever, but it was good!) is a fun journey to follow her on. Her falling off that when blinded by rage is ALSO interesting - but they somehow fumbled it?? she's a fascist puppet dictator now but her only true fault, according to the narrative, is listening to Ambessa and letting Noxus in.
sevika's jinx-made arm must be SO weirdly balanced, the weird poses she must be constantly doing to counter the weight must be insane. i kinda dig that jinx didnt even think about making it balanced to fit an actual human body, she just made it Super Cool (tm)
It's interesting how Goodsir has this spiritual belief in him. not just christianity, but he believes David Young did see something he could not, and he feels uneasy and weary on land when they find the first cairn. Meanwhile Crozier is clearly losing (has lost?) much of his religion ("is natures author nowhere in your tally?" "🫥")

they fumbled the bag with the viktor-jinx parallels. two from the undercity seen as "weaker" in a society that requires physical strength to survive, requires mental strength to move with your peers. both interested in tech and invention, neither with much regard for their own or others' safety. they should've gotten more than some snarky back and forths tbhtbh
not to be real fucking depressing this christmas eve, but i wonder if the snow the Undercity gets is ever clean. I cant imagine its nice snow. Might be the kind where everyone knows to stay inside for a bit, like their version of acid rain; it's not that it's skin contact dangerous, it's that it drags with it all the dirt and nasty stuff from every level above you.
