Honestly, every wrestler on the roster that night was looking at Cena like they were devouring him with their eyes. Not even necessarily in a sexual way, but also like theyre all starving and he's the only food in the world. What is it about that man that inspires such devotion

So much attention is given to the hustle when we talk about Cena, how he gave everything for the company for fucking years and how that inspired a shit ton of talent in his wake (especially Cody, cough cough). So much attention goes there, but Saturday night to me? That was about loyalty and respect. Regardless of how well any of those wrestlers knew John, from the top to the bottom, that may have been the best and maybe only example of him being returned the full extent of the loyalty and respect that he’s displayed for decades now. Everyone paid their respects, and Punk and Cody paid theirs by giving John the best attempt at a constellation (heh) prize you could ever ask for. It was a show of appreciation, honor, and such. If it were a perfect world I would complete the trilogy like this:

Hustle, loyalty, respect, and love.

You simply cannot deny that love was in the air. Young love, old love, that heartbreaking kind of love that makes you scream ‘God why?!’, the type of love that looks more like hate than anything else, yearning, mourning, gratitude, veneration, love for Cena comes in many forms. It’s expressed by everyone differently.
