Otto Octavius after failure so many times finally gets his arms! However there seems to be a problem by with the arms systems causing him to become a totally different person! This reminds me so much of Spider-Man 2!

The 90s show didn't have a version of the character who's so immediately sympathetic and relatable, but he is shown in flashbacks as a man who was very gentle and kind as an instructor at a summer science camp when peter parker was a child. But after all his scientific piers laugh at him and his wealthy patron cuts him off, otto octavius winds up a broken man working in an abandoned slum. His accident involving his hydraulic arms happens one night while he's in his makeshift lab, and that leads him to a total mental collapse. Science becomes all that matters to him, and he's willing to kill to get results. I'm pretty sure the 90s show even mentioned blood in one of his scenes, which I found pretty intense for a kids show. They didn't show anything following up on that threat, though. So that made it work for me.
