Last weekend, the Gilded Pony hosted Fashion Walkin’ In A Winter Wonderland. Designers and models donated their time and eager buyers donated their coin.

1,000,000 gil was raised for the Moonlight Reverie.

Greetings,

This moon was a busy one for many of the adult members of the Midnight Pearl. Their work in Ala Mhigo really heightened. It is nice to see such dedication but it is lonely. Matron Simran was injured in a battle and she is experiencing temporary paralysis. She’s assured all of us it is only temporary, however. I can’t help but worry, though.

On a lighter note, I’ve spent more time with the Monsaran tribe. Ganbayar brought me to the new grounds to celebrate a private festival they host for the Harvest moon. There were many different dishes, a ceremony, and dancing. I was shocked to see even Mrs. Book there (our technology specialist at the Pearl). She normally is not very social.

I’ve a new painting project! The Monsaran would like me to decorate their drums! So I’ve been working with paints that won’t hurt the skins. I’m very excited and I have a lot of inspiration. What have you been up to this moon? I hope it was pleasant for you! I should get back to work, but I’d love to hear back from you some time before I’m adopted.

Hi!

Burning. Fingers. Sucks. So. Bad.

These stupid pies we are being FORCED TO CREATE are little demon pastries that really don’t need to be made.  Why does someone suffering from fighting need pie?!  THEY DON’T!  They need me, right there on the frontlines with them, punching the shins off some meanies that won’t leave the little kids alone!!  I am so mad.  (Note: FLOUR DOES NOT COME OFF THE FACE.  EVER.  It will stay in my skin until I die.)

But, I guess we are doing good some way or another, or we wouldn’t be doing it.  The others seem real happy they’re getting to help the adults with making things and packaging them.  After I made a pie in the shape of a fist, I was sent out with the others to gather more berries for the filling.  I got to lead my own group, too!  It’s because I am such a good leader.  We got more berries than any of the other groups, and earned some sweets for it!  The people are going to love our pies.  They’re made with love - and with EXCELLENCE.

Hello,

I wasn’t wrong.  Most everyone is gone.  I guess they are having trouble too, because we are all being forced to make things for people directly in the midst of this latest war.  War doesn’t end, does it?  Fighting dragons.  Fighting beasts.  Fighting the Empire.  Civil war.  Why do we all have to fight so much?  What is it about us that makes us need to fight like this?

If you were out there, I hope you get one of our care packages.  I put one of my plush animals inside mine in hopes that there is someone else out there like me who needs a friend, and will take comfort from it.  When there is so much sadness everywhere, it is hard to hold on to luxuries of your own without guilt.

I wasn’t kidding.  You better come home safe.

Miss Cloudwalker,

The Reverie has gotten together to craft care packages for those who are abroad, and also for the people affected by the fighting.  Some of the younger children are making and wrapping food items, while others are being taken on ‘missions’ to gather them!  It is really quite cute, seeing how determined and happy they all are with helping others.  The heart smiles at the future of our world when so many are so eager to provide their aid.  For my part, and the part of many others of my year span, we are making clothing.  Things like cloth bumcovers for toddlers and babies, dresses and tunics that can be gathered and girded to fit most sizes, and other items that would be considered useful.  I’ve personally also taken to the task of arranging stationary to be sent alongside these things, that way the people there have the means to pen letters to those they need to speak with outside of the war-torn lands.

I hope that you do not have to receive one of our parcels.  I hope you are safe, away from the fighting and unaffected by the struggles that so many are now being forced to endure.

There is a complimentary drawing included that depicts what seems to be the banner colors of Ala Mhigo, though this flag looks nothing like it. Rather than a gryphon, it sports an eagle with four sets of wings, a lion that has a very wide mouth, and what appears to be a rudimentary plus sign in the middle. One might assume this algebra was symbolic.

Hello Rozik

This is a letter with happy news! I am going to have two new moms! I have had three whole moms now, is that not great? I get to be a G R Y P H O N now, which is also the name of the lion that flies like a bird. I got to go to the tribe grounds of G Tribe and they had all kinds of things to explore and taste and smell. I had not been on real tribal grounds before! Only saw them in my dreams.

I am practicing real good to bring my best to G Tribe. I want to honor my momma, so I am going to work on weaving like her! She made my clothes when I was little, so I will make clothes for the Gryphons. My new moms and sisters will be proud of me I hope. I am just proud to have a new big whole family.

This is my last letter to you and that makes me sad. But I will make Simi tell you how I am, okay? She is a good other mom, she will take care of it.

Paired with this letter was a small box. Within it, were two glass ships colored vividly in Hatching-Tide paints. While one ship focused more on the colors of sunset: reds, pinks, and oranges the other focused more on colors of the sea: blues, greens, and purples.

As I’m sure you’re well aware, this passed moon was the Moonfire Faire! I have mixed feelings about this particular celebration. I love the colors, the atmosphere, and the long summer nights. But, the fireworks hurt my horns. The loud noises tend to catch me off guard and occasionally they make the littler ones upset. 

I tried to find inspiration from the colors, though! I hope you don’t mind me sending you all these pictures. I’m unsure how many more I’ll be able to send in the future and I want you both to have something to remember me by. In my last letter I mentioned that Ganbayar wishes to adopt me? It looks like that may be happening sooner rather than later. I’ve started to meet some of the other members that I didn’t know in the tribe. It’s very exciting.

There is a complimentary drawing on black paper. It depicts the fireworks seen over what might be Mist if Mist had only four houses in it. The fireworks have been accentuated with glued on glitter. The glitter did not stick on well, and thus covers the entire letter and envelope, and now the floor.

Hello Rozik again

It is summertime now! And there have been fireworks all the time. I like fireworks because of the colors and the shapes they make but also I do not like fireworks because they hurt my ears and when they keep going pow pow pa pow during the night time it makes it hard to sleep! Maybe if they turned them off sometime then the faire could last longer.

I am getting tall I think. I did not have to climb on anybody’s shoulders to see the shows this year, I did it all by myself. My mentor says that the more you can do on your own, the stronger you get to be. But he also told me not to be worried if you needed help too. That is why I asked for help making lemon tea for the faire. It tasted so good! The secret is to add rolanberry slices.

Simi says I have a surprise coming soon. I hope it is about the eagles that walk like lions.

I don’t know what to write about this moon.  There was another stupid light show for the festival, but I don’t like ‘em.  They hurt my eyes and make me feel bad because I remember my parents.  They sound just like what the bad men used to take them from me and my brother.  But speaking of my brother!  You know how I beat him before?  Well now, it’s hard for him to ever beat ME!  Not that anyone was ever doubting that, I mean, I am the greatest.  Since I am sending this letter, that means you did make it back alive, because I am MAGICAL and anything I wish for comes true.  Really!  I wished for a sweet cake and one of the others gave me hers because they hurt her mouth.  BAM, WISH GRANTED!! Even if I don’t enjoy the fireworks, I hope you did because that would be great.  I am being taught that sometimes even though I don’t like something, it makes someone else happy.  I guess I like others being happy.  Especially you, cause you are cool.

Hello,

It seems like everyone is gone.  There were a lot less people to watch the Midsummer fireshows with this year.  They are trying to keep it from us but I know everyone is going off to war again.  I wish war wasn’t a thing.  I wish no one had to go die so that we could live sad lives, and be unhappy with what we’ve got right at home.  Even the fireworks looked bland this year because the beach was so barren.  Last night, I stayed up late watching the sky for shooting stars so I could make a wish that the gods would hear.  I just want everyone to come back safe.  I don’t want anyone to die anymore.  I want to have Midsummer be like it was before, with everyone laughing and enjoying my puppet shows with my stuffed animals.  Maybe I can study harder and learn how to stop war so I can protect everyone without ever needing to pick up a sword.
