Gym leaders adjust their team depending on the incoming trainers skill level and, to make it easier for them to obtain pokemon for this reason, the professors of their regions will give them boxed pokemon to use (with the trainers consent) so that they're pokemon can remain low leveled for the newer trainers. Gyms are like pokemon sanctuaries for those specific types that they specialize in.

Even though Blastoise's have been used a lot in wars, they really don't find any enjoyment in killing. They're very honest creatures and the act of murder will often times make them depressed. However, they do love battling as they can calculate the right amount of strength to cause their opponent to faint and not die.

Mega evolution can occur naturally for wild pokemon but it's insanely painful for them, which is one of the biggest reasons pokemon search for a trainer they feel connected to so that the energy emitted during the evolution can be distributed equally between both of the mega stones, making the process completely painless and, often times, very exhilarating.

Hisuian Samurott's began migrating to the Unova region a few years after the events of Legends Arceus where their appearances quickly changed to the one people are familiar with in present day. Turns out that their dark typing and original look was caused by the overwhelming presence of Giratina in the region. Samurott's now have a strong repulsion toward evil and anything associated with the legendary due to it's history with it.

Many people in the Kalos region will find Goomy's hiding out in their bathtubs or basements during the summer. You're especially likely to find this pokemon in your home if you have a leak in the ceiling or, better yet, a pool.

After Marnie's battles during the Champion Cup, Spikemuth's popularity skyrockted and seemingly became a place for people to want to come hang out at overnight. Between the music, the vendors, and the tight-nit community, Spikemuth became a hotspot for hundreds of musicians and pokemon performers to come and perform at.

Hisuian Typhlosion eventually lost it's ghost typing as the souls of dead pokemon it would guide got less and less grateful due to it being a pokemon that was generally close to humans (which was uncommon at the time). As time went on, Typhlosion got angrier that the souls it helped take to the afterlife had a certain disdain toward it for working with humans and stopped helping, which caused it to become a full fire type with a generational rage that fuels it's power.

A lot of people in the warmer parts of Unova own a household Vanilite to keep their homes cold naturally. It saves them from having to pay for air conditioning and gives the Vanilite somewhere to hang around at. They're very social pokemon and love being able to roam in someone's house.

Guzma likes bug type pokemon because he sees himself in them. He likes that a lot of people are scared of bug types because he wants people to be like that when they see him as well. He likes that most bug types are actually really friendly and loyal because that's how he is with his grunts. He sees himself in bug types when they run from fights they can't handle, because all he's ever done in life is run.

Alolan Raichu's love puzzles and mind games. They're an oddly perfect pokemon for people who like to casually do crosswords or escape rooms in their free time. They're not very competitive though, they only like doing it for the fun of it, so keep that in mind when deciding if you want to take one with you or not.

In the past, king's were determined based on who the old king's Ageislash chose to succeed him. Once chosen, the Ageislash would loyally follow the successor till their death, even if their actions were corrupt.

Silver has always appreciated Ethan's reckless sense of justice. It's a breath of fresh air compared to his father's deceitful nature and, while he's definitely inherited some of that deceptiveness, he likes to think that he's using it in a much more powerful and effective way than Giovanni.

Espeon's are typically regarded as the "daughters of Solgaleo" (regardless of gender) given that they evolve during the day. Similarly, Umbreon are regarded as the "sons of Lunala". If your Eevee evolves into one of these then it's seen as one of these two legendaries viewing you favorably and sending you a "guardian angel".

Being an orphan, Acerola was offered a place with Team Skull and, had she not been so close to Nanu, she would've considered joining for the fun of it.

Hisuian Decidueye migrated from the Hisuian (Sinnoh) region to the Alolan region after a spike in the regions weather where it began to get really cold for around a decade before regulating again. They had a hard time managing in it so they moved and later adapted fully to the warmer climate of Alola.
