On 9th October, John Lennon would complete his 21st birthday, he was given Ā£100 ahead of from his aunt Mater. John decided to travel to Spain, but when he heard that his friend JĆ¼rgen Vollmer, a close friend from Hamburg, was living in Paris, he decided to travel to Paris with Paul. John told his aunt Mimi that he was traveling to sell his paintings with Paul from 30th September and 1th October for a well-deserved holiday. However, George Harrison and Pete Best came to believe that the band could break up. āLast night I heard that John and Paul went to Paris to play together,ā said Stuart Sutcliffe. āIn other words, the band was over! It sounded crazy to me, I don't believe it ā.
Paul and John arrived in Paris exhausted and stayed in a small and cheap hotel, sleeping in one bad in the city, they walked around the city every day, and sat in a few bars. In one of them in Montmartre they watched a comical performance by French rocker Johnny Hallyday. Paul and John found a fashion innovation in a thrift store, bell bottoms, then both decided to buy one each; they went back to hotel and put on the new clothes and went out into the streets of Paris, but in a short time they realised that they weren't used to that style and ran back to the hotel to take them out.

JĆ¼rgen Vollmer (John Lennon's friend) had moved to France with the purpose of studying photography working as an assistant, he wore the hairstyle that Astrid Kirchherr had encouraged Stuart and Klaus Voorman to adopt, after a few days in the city of Paris, John Lennon and Paul McCartney decided that they wanted to do the same haircut.

On October 9, just before returning to Liverpool, John Lennon celebrated his 21st birthday with Paul McCartney in Paris.

It really amazes me that Free As a Bird exists. Iāve listened many times but not heard the lyrics deeply until this morning and it made my heart hurt so bad.

She seemed to be on the back of the studio with a tape recorder on, while they were recording Revolution 1. Trigger warning for psychoanalyzing John Lennon's handwriting!
Andy Warhol and Mario Meyer shot today in New York, Iām so glad that I wasnāt there. Because I would like to be there if I were in New York, oh, but thatās something that I should tell John, itās so funny Mario used to, because heās a f*g, I guess I donāt know what it is, but anyway he was very, I think heās a real f*g, as much as he could as a f*g, I think terribly interested in me and all that so what he does is he would just sort of like touch me on the neck or like on my back or something like that or sort of scratch my arm or something like that when Iām talking to somebody.

John is such a genius. This is the first time that just once in a while, I almost get jealous of his talent, which is really amazing because I was never jealous of any artist. Whenever I get sad about his work, I almost feel like kneeling down and kissing his feet.

I donāt know how you have that shift of character of very sharp, strong eyes and sometimes very soft and beautiful eyes. Sometimes I donāt know if Iām following you too much. Sometimes I donāt know if Iām looking at you too much and so I haste to go near you. Right now youāre in the other room, and Iām just sort of embarrassed, and I donāt know if I should be coming or not. But youāre in my mind all the time, so I guess thatās what it is. Itās either that he had a terribly weak character or he was in love to her (well, I'm glad they decided to go with the weak character version! How dare John be in love with anyone but Yoko?). I just donāt want to think about it. Iāve never been with anyone for so long so I wouldnāt know. If I think very hard, then I know, I mean I donāt even think I have to think hard, I just get so jealous about it I almost think Iām going to go insane.
