gonna sound like a friggin puritan and i know posting this on tumblr with 1k followers will do absolutely nothing but can we like. just not call people pieces of shit. i'd never do that to anyone no matter how much i despise them. cause even the worst people alive aren't literal feces. no one deserves to be compared to fecal matter. its fucking disgusting
to be honest, we started underestimating how bad calling someone "a piece of shit" really is. like people who do it don't think about what they're saying, they're just saying a "general insult" to insult a person.
calling someone a piece of shit probably was insulting at first, because no one knew about this insult, and people had to think what "piece of shit" meant. and it was disgusting.
but now, our insults are generalized. you either insulte someone, or insulte them a little stronger, with a stronger insult.
you know, I'm glad I shared that comic I just reblogged again. I just got to it while scrolling through my blog unable to sleep and it suddenly made me think. I'm tired and the heat's been messing with my head but maybe this will be a helpful post idk
I've already mentioned how I've become so addicted to validation on the internet that I'm now much more sensitive than I want to be... The whole story with a random project of mine amassing a fully-fledged fandom, with all the aspects of one ranging from the most confusing drama to the most beautiful art, has certainly made me a different person than I was two years ago. I can't say whether I've gotten better or worse though. It's a mix of both. I've definitely learned some more things about the internet.
And one of the main things that's changed about me is I've become more afraid of what people on the internet can do. Doxxing, cancel culture, all that. There are people somewhere who think I'm evil for whatever reason. I shouldn't worry about it, things like that will happen when random people of all ages and mentalities are aware of you, but it's so weird. And overwhelming.
Knowing how easy it is to give a whole bunch of people an awful impression of myself without even realizing it kinda fucks with me. Even while writing posts like this one I have thoughts that maybe someone will somehow misinterpret them as me hating everyone or something. Again, a lot of the time that bad impression isn't my problem to solve, but like, god dammit this place is chaotic.
Still, despite all that, it's great to stay your true self and make whatever you want without worrying about upsetting some strangers.
It's just that, like all great things, it's also very difficult.
But I'm gonna keep trying.

@vargamornight but also anyone else who is inconvenienced by having to log in to Tumblr every time they want to use it. Staying logged in is achieved by storing your login session in the browser cookies, something Firefox blocks by default. Firefox does this because cookies are used for a lot of shady things.
If you're so annoyed by constantly logging in, just allow cookies for tumblr and you will only need to log in one time.
Click the options button -> settings -> site settings -> exceptions then add www.tumblr.com

thats a more in depth guide.
It will allow Tumblr to see some cross-site cookies which isn't ideal, but it's still heaps better than the app, which collects every bit of data it can + you lose your adblocker.
You should be able to call in creative to work.

mind if I talk fake scugs for a minute
(this art is from last year)
The Bard - has been on tumblr before but let me reiterate. froggy thing. can do very big charge jumps. Can sing to calm predators and prey.
The Outlaw - the weird karmic one. likes to kill things and is very good at it. killing everything in sight is incentivised in early game, but in the mid game dead creatures start respawning as 'red rot' variants which are much harder to kill and more hostile. in the endgame Outlaw either breaks out of its own cycle or is taken by some weird karmic being to stop it from encouraging the cycle's descent into rot... possibly a trial segment? definitely an ending where a daemon falls to rot, as well as one where the Outlaw themselves allow the rot to take them. Possibly a secret pacifist ending which is normal ascension.
The Vagrant - photosynthetic scug. Gains food pips from light but will wilt and die in the dark. can consume food pips to make a weird fleshy fruit that creatures like. good for lizard taming.
The Nomad - basic survivor-type scug. curious and likes to travel. has a bag which provides 3 extra inventory slots
The Juggernaut - can curl into a ball and roll around. kind of like Gourmand on crack but without the food tech. a tank of a slugcat who is basically invulnerable when rolled (apart from probably special new creatures) - even rain takes longer to kill. in return requires a lot of food to sustain themselves and must eat a certain amount of metal per cycle to keep their shell strong
The Mariner - (*cough* Element Cats Calcium) a semi-aquatic slugcat whose mode of life depends on its ability to secrete calcium carbonate. can turn spears into harpoons which do more damage and can pierce lizard heads but will shatter if thrown into a wall. can turn rocks into pearls. is probably commissioned by the local iterator to fix the holes in their can.
