That's really why they got no parents & their whole life is their given role. Also Koslun is actually "Cousland" (lampshaded by Isabela)--some ancestors of that noble family invented the qunari-making ritual, and the Qun religion was created as a way of controlling their manufactured slave army

for mechanical reasons. If the player character can have any combo of pronouns and gendered physical attributes, gating gay/lesbian/straight romance paths would've required the devs to decide which specific customizable characteristics marked a PC as attractive to each monosexual NPC and just yikes to the moon bud
