Bone Reaver hot springs!

This town is exactly big enough for the two of them.

Just them.

“You are so… frustrating,” Kate replied with a quick shake of her head. Before Sam could comment on that, Kate reached out, grabbed hold of her jacket lapels, and dragged her close. She held one finger up in front of Sam’s face. “I will look after your ship. But I swear, if you die, I will fucking kill you.”

Sam lifted her eyebrows at the words but reconsidered her response in light of the tone they were delivered in. “Okay.”

Giving a short nod, Kate pressed a brief but hard kiss to Sam’s mouth before releasing her grip. Sam stumbled and had to regain her balance before she turned back to the others, eyes narrowing preemptively.

But Mac appeared absorbed in the screen of the tracker, and Addy had moved to the room’s console, her hands already tapping commands into the screen. Only Parker stood exactly as before, weapon readied, face blank. Sam had the urge to lift her fingers to her lips and instead smoothed them down the front of her jacket.

Playing around with my own characters again! From The Ship, grumpy space captain Sam, and Kate, the woman who convinced her one last job wasn't a terrible idea. (Spoilers, it kind of was!)
