Eddie can be hot and cold. He wants to be close and also wants to be left alone. But Instead of communicating his needs he lashes out to get the message across like a child despite being in his 40’s. He oscillates between jovial and moody depending on how life is treating him and internalizes any missteps as a personal failing. He loves Venom more than he’ll ever express and views his reciprocation as proof that his life has value.

Venom loves Eddie but struggles to respect his judgement. He stubbornly believes he’s in the right most times and will rarely acknowledge if wrong… instead offering a kindness as an olive branch. He thinks he’s got a level head and a propensity to see things for what they are but he’s highly emotional and reactive, often escalating arguments and situations to an apex point.

Came up with some fan designs for these two (I got some inspiration from other fan designs I saw, yall have some cool designs btw!!)

In the og, aside from being a creep to boris and bendy, mickey did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. he had no purpose in that story whatsoever. him being nice wasn't just unnecessary, it was unneeded and frankly, it went nowhere. We needed a purpose for him in this story. we needed him to be important.

This comic is mostly about our issues with the entertainment industry. We've worked for animations, comics, movies and whatnot for years now and all i can say: it gets to be a drag when the same issues are brought up about this being a failing industry, and NOTHING being done about it.

We didn't want him to be one-dimensional. He's not purely evil, he's stressed. He's clearly not in control, and he's afraid. Doesn't excuse his actions but I cant spoil anything.

Someone said something i really liked: that Mickey isn't just a tyrannical evil being bc "disney bad" but that he's a narcissistic control freak who's losing that grasp on control and lost his persona years ago.

In qftim: Mickey had ONE interesting quality that fly and i liked; he was so scared of getting attatched to someone who he knew he’d lose, and in the end refused to treat quest bendy as a person. He treated him as a tragedy instead.

He refused to provide any comfort or care towards bendy, hell he barely recognized him at all. Even in what they thought may have been bendy’s final moments did mickey STILL refuse to provide bendy with any sort of comfort. because he was scared of getting attatched to someone he knew was going to die. Because in mickey’s eyes, bendy was already dead.

At his very core: he was still selfish.

Refusing to even acknowledge boris’s autonomy simply because he was a 12 year old with a dying brother. He refused to treat bendy as nothing more than a tragic tale his brother will tell when he’s older, and refused to even listen to boris at all. He was protecting himself from sadness and deluded himself into thinking he was protecting boris by pushing away a DYING TEENAGER. It was purely selfish.

AND THAT. THAT WAS INTERESTING.

Because it is a realistic (albeit dramaticized) depiction of how some people react to a dying man and his family! Boris is 12, it was easy to see him as idealistic and naive, something we sorta kept in myth.

So when we finished the series, fly and I IMMEDIATELY knew what we wanted for mickey. We needed a mouse who TRULY understood loss, someone who saw everyone and everything, including himself, as numbers on a chart. It doesn’t matter how many people have the blot or are going to get it, what matters is he’s doing something about it, as the man with all the power.

Everything will be better as long as we get through this dark period. He will have everything under control. He worked so hard to keep everything alive and in line, whats a few more deaths to add to the list if they are so close to the end.

he’s still selfishly ignoring everyone who is suffering to make sure that HE doesn’t suffer, because he truly believes that he is the key to ending this all if he just stays alive and keeps going.

He’s still the same as quest, but he’s realistic now. He’s climbed his way to the top and he’s staying there. Because when you’re so far at the top, its easy to ignore everyone at the bottom.
