at first, she wasnāt sure if he recognized her and when he went over to the table with teas and coffees she hadnāt been planning to follow him but she always got a coffee afterward. she couldnāt remember his name and was suddenly curious to see if her initial instincts were correct.Ā krystal stood a comfortable distance away from him as she waited for him to finish pouring his tea so that she could get to the coffee pot.
when he spoke to her she was a little taken aback, not realizing heād recognized her. as usual when speaking to a new person - even after having met before she stumbled over her words a bit as she responded.Ā āi w-was about to s-say the same thing to you. d-did you like the discussion? i-i havenāt seen you here beforeā¦ā
at the sound of her voice, his brows were raised in surprise as he was more than sure his words had been rather quiet. the sounds coming from her mouth are full of stutters, something he had not realised before. when they first met, the gal had not spoken at all and perhaps he had received the answer as to why she kept her mouth shut. was she nervous when approaching strangers? or was she simply uncomfortable with the idea of chatting up a person she had little to no idea about? whichever it was, jongin could somewhat understand; his reaction to new individuals wasnāt so great either. as his black tea was ready to his liking - a little bit of sugar mixed with a tinge of milk - his heels turned him around, his gaze landing on the rather petite girl. āthe discussion wasā¦ā he stopped in his sentence. startled, he took a minute to reconsider his answer. this was his first time in group therapy, the first time his mind is open to the hurt of others, their traumatic stories reigniting his darkest moments. āit was new.ā jongin took a sip of the content in his cup, passing the kettle to the female, assuming she had been waiting quite awhile to serve herself a cup. he was faced with two options: he could hush his curiosity and walk away from the encounter, or he could unravel a bit of himself in hopes of knowing more about her. āiāve never attended therapy like this, so iām a bit uncomfortable sharing for now. how did you find it?ā though he is interested in hearing her response, a more pressing question comes to him. he had been introduced to her name before, however days had gone by since that piece of information and today, causing the male to completely forget it. āalso, iām sorry but i seem to have forgotten your name. what is it again, love?ā
The Perks of Being a Bouncer || Jongin & Eros

Ā Ā āNot you Jongin,ā he says gently to halt the person he means. His eyes lift, one blue and one brown to look with a warmth in them that says heās far from in trouble or being dismissed with the others that applied. āIf I might have a moment of your time?ā
Ā Ā The hiring process is an offering- the person with the real power to make a final decision is not really the manager, but the applicant. Eros knows this and Jongin seems to be someone that his staff, maybe even him, could enjoy having around. His hand gestures to his open office door. āIf you wouldnāt mind, Iād like to discuss the finer points of your employment here.ā Then he smiles and adds, āIf youāll accept of course.ā
applying for job was never advertised as being an easy process. though lucky ones obtained their dream job through the help of connections as well as their strong skills, jongin was far from being one of those people. sure, he had worked summer jobs before and even helped as an english tutor over the course of a year, but those were small experiences that wouldnāt specifically get an employer to pick him out of a lot of applicants.Ā this time round, however, heās confident. being a bouncer demanded authority, strength and observational skills among many other characteristics. the boy wasnāt weak, nor was he insanely strong, but with his touch, he could make any delinquent go home with an upset stomach or a raging headache. his authority stemmed from his old group of friends back in high school, and sure maybe he ordered them around to pursue rather mischievous tasks but it still counts. and finally, jongin spent hours on end observing people from afar - not that the lad was a creeper, he just liked watching everybodyās quirks.Ā to his surprise, following the series of interviews, his name was called out as he was about to step out of the hall every applicant had been placed in. turning around with brows raised in stupefaction, his gaze fell on the god that stood before him. it took him a couple of minutes to make out the words that were said, and he instantly felt the corner of his lip tugging upwards in a lopsided smile. he was more proud than relieved, and sure the job wasnāt the best one he could get but it was definitely a good start.Ā āiād love to discuss those with you, sir. iād be an idiot to refuse your offer but,ā he pauses, to think his words thoroughly.Ā āwas my application that good? was i your favourite one out of the lot? i mean i must've been, right?ā a tinge of cockiness is present in his voice, but jongin meant it in the best way, hoping the other would pick up on his playfulness.Ā

An idea popped into Miaās head and she finished her pineapple tea just as he sat down at a table and waited for his to be brewed. Mia went over to the counter and quietly whispered something to the person making the tea, then pulled out a pen and a sticky note from her bag (sticky notes were lifesavers when sewing). She wrote a short message, stuck it onto the large teacup, then left the store.
The message read:
Hey tea guy, are you just as big of a tea nerd as I am or are you stalking me? Either way, letās have a chat one of these days, it doesnāt have to be about tea.
tea, by far the most superior drink, especiallyĀ compared to coffee, or so jongin thought. ranging from black tea to blooming tea, not a single one was not to his taste. in fact, he harboured a collection of the product, each useful for different emotions and days.Ā he ignores where the obsession with the beverage stems from, although he has an idea. coming back to korea following his days in the united kingdom, his grandmother more than happily taught him about the benefits that tea brought to oneās body. she would tell the boy stories of her past whilst sipping from her favourite cup, letting the younger taste all the different leaves she kept reserved in a special cabinet. the love was most probably genetic, a thought of jonginās that always brought the warmest of smiles on his facade.Ā frequent were the visits to the coffee shop, asking for whatever tea they served on the day. pineapple tea, an interesting beverage to offer, but his money was quick to end up in the hands of the waitress as he was more than willing to try. passing by him was a fair gal, black hair braided into two, rosy cheeks. he had seen her often, the two often enjoying their drinks a couple of meter apart. perhaps she was another tea lover, or maybe it was just a coincidence, jongin didnāt give it much attention.Ā as he received the cup, his brows furrowed. the note was heartwarming, if not cute, however he refused to admit it. meeting the waitressā gaze, her confused expression was quick to tell him that the words written did not come from her. could it be the young lass who had walked past him? it was a strong possibility and the only way to know was to come maybe fifteen minutes earlier.Ā and so thatās what he did. the following day, he waited, patiently sat at a table, awaiting the girl to walk through those doors.
Looking Back or Looking Ahead
mp-yixingĀ·:

Gou immediately began scenting to find the source of his confusion and Yixing followed closely. It wasnāt long before they came upon a clearing, one man sat alone on a log. Yixing honed in on the alcohol resting at the strangerās feet. He caught a glimpse of another bottle as the man tipped it back for another pull. Interesting. Gou sensed no threat so Yixing was not worried about his safety as he approached. Normally his third eye would offer some flash of vague information but all he was getting now was a fuzzy sense of, sadness. He spoke gently as he came into the strangers view. A young man who was clearly in pain. Yixing felt his heart strings pull.Ā āEvening friend. Itās a little cold to be out here all alone. Mind if we join you?ā He gestured to Gou who came and sat obediently by his side as Yixing patted his head lightly. Something was wrong and he could not help but be compelled to offer his company and any aide he might be able to provide.
that same cursed time of the year came again, a time where cold would reign the streets and thin sheets of white would cover the trees and ground. The sting came back, plunging the lad in an eternal spiral of grief, regret and self-hatred. dipped in numbness, jongin spent practically his whole life figuring out methods of feeling again, a door for him to open to allow him to look forward to better days. this evening, sadly, wasnāt like those days he courageously looked for a positive way of coping, on the contrary. bottle in his hand, he resorted to drinking his sorrows away on a cold december night, forgetting the hurtful memories that would forever torture him during the said month.
a sudden presence was felt. heavy intoxicated lids opened to capture an idea of the souls that approached him, surprised as he noticed an adorable dog sniffing nearby. clumsily, he reached to pet the creature until he was reminded of the curse that he was born with. though the animal was big, inflicting any sort of pain was not his goal. soon enough, a male sat by his side, concern tinting his voice. āthe cold doesnāt bother me,ā jongin explains, tilting up the bottle that was in his hand. āfeel free, although i wonāt be much fun.ā

` one day, iāll go to the moon.
featuring @mpxsehun and kim jongin,
the night holds many connotations, often portrayed as an eerie time where mysteries unravel or a time full of reflection. many fear the darkness whereas others await the moon with impatience. being the latter, the man often spent nights wide awake either working or wondering about the mysteries of life. his thoughts had no end, exploring a vast range of philosophical topics he questioned. these inquiries built up specifically after having read a book questioning human nature itself. jongin had a thing for intriguing questions, but receiving no answers frustrated him. coming home late one evening after a day spent in town, endlessly searching for a book nearly as interesting as the one he had read recently, the lad entered his apartment complex, mind filled with a rather simple thought. sure, pondering about existence itself was interesting enough, but sharing those questions to a friend would be interesting - he always enjoyed hearing insights of other peopleās thoughts. and thus began his hunt for a prey, anyone who looked mildly intriguing enough for him to discuss everything and nothing with them. waiting for the rather tranquil elevator to come down, he is joined by a boy he had noticed quite a lot around the premise. he was only a little taller than jongin and the two often would bump into each other in the corridor, sharing small smiles out of courtesy. it was now or never, he thought. now was the time to possibly hit two birds with one stone: getting to know the familiar lad and gaining a friend with whom he can talk about anything. but this demanded an interaction between them, and though jongin hated making the first step, he came to a conclusion that this couldnāt be so bad of an idea. entering the lift, he sends the other a sheepish smile. āgood evening,ā he says, resting his back against the elevatorās wall, facing the male. āweāve been bumping into each other quite a bit so i might as well introduce myself. iām jongin.ā

scars, a reminder of someoneās past.they can be tangible or intangible, loud and prominent or discrete and secretive. no matter whether physical or emotional, most people walk around with countless stories to tell, explaining the development of their character into who they are today. itās beautiful yet ugly, some souls not deserving the harsh wounds they carry around. in fact, everyone in this room did not deserve to be marked the way they were.
after a long mental battle of whether to join therapy once again, the brown-haired male decided it was best for him to give himself chances in order to feel better. numbed by many events in his past, jongin dreams of a day where his mistakes donāt haunt him and the best way to make this dream a reality was by taking care of himself. sure, at 25, he considers himself rather responsible, but when it came to treating himself with respect or giving himself opportunities to shine, his responsibility is quick to fade. it wasnāt that he didnāt enjoy therapy, not at all. in fact, the freeing feeling that overwhelms him is almost heavenly, to him. the only issue he has is the guilt he senses following opening up. whether itās due to the anxious thoughts of having burdened the individual or his dislike towards vulnerability, he tends to take steps away from opening up.
yet here he stands, in a room full of people sharing their stories, showing courage. jongin refused to speak during this first group session, not ready to reveal his past just yet, so he spent his time observing everybody sat around him. he recognises one, a lass with almond shaped eyes he had met before. Her name was⦠he forgot, but what he remembers is the bad impression he got from her. though he had made an effort of talking to his friend, valentina, the girl did not even make an effort of sending the male a curl of her lips.
as the session came to an end, he hurriedly headed towards the kettle, serving himself a cup of tea. to his left stands the gal, most likely waiting for the kettle to be passed to her. ādidnāt expect to see you here,ā he mutters, eyes lied on her silhouette. whether she hears him or not doesnāt matter much, yet an overwhelming curiosity takes over him, wondering what story lies behind her facade.
` transform me.
featuring @mpxapollox and kim jongin,
if thereās one thing the male loved more than anything, it was watching sports. ranging from swimming to football, jongin often spent his sundays lounging in the grass with his laptop, live-streaming whatever competition was ongoing. heād spend hours on end marvelling at beautiful masculine bodies, their toned muscles in action as they shone in their area of expertise. it reminded him of past days he spent as a youngster, pursuing his dream of becoming south koreaās best football player. alas, the dream came to an end rather abruptly following a sharp injury to his leg.
however, something in jonginās heart told him that perhaps taking care of his body should be back on his priority list. looking rather lanky, heād often catch himself staring as his thin features. as days went by, the want, if not need, to build up his muscles grew stronger until he asks colleagues for the best gym on the island.
standing in front of zero to hero, the lad feels almost intimidated as he watches the athletic souls running endlessly on treadmills, lifting an incredible amount of weights and dropping pools of sweat on the floor. seconds from backing out, the individual at the reception notices him and welcomes him with a big smile. turning away now would simply look cowardly, in his opinion. ignoring the lethargy in his legs, he enters the sports facility, he heaves an almost inaudible sigh. āhi, iād like to sign up for a personal trainer. if possible, iād like to work with the best trainer you have.ā
` here we stand.
featuring @mpxhyuna and kim jongin,
morning rituals differed from individual to individual. some woke up early to go for a jog, continuing by grabbing their coffees and head to work right after, whilst others appreciated lingering around in bed until hunger manages to push them out of their cocoon. jongin was more of the latter. finishing his job late at night, the male never found the energy nor the will to go out on a run. Instead, he would sleep until late in the morning, and on rare cases of waking up early, a book would occupy him much better than a run ever could. his ritual also consisted of going to the local coffee shop to grab his favourite blueberry muffin - it wasnāt the most exquisite he had tasted but sufficed to please his pallet.
today was no different than others. locks ruffled up messily, glasses sitting comfortably on his nose and eyes blurred with sleepiness, the male headed to the shop, ready to be welcomed by the sweet smell of freshly baked pastries. however, as he stopped in front of the display, his heart fell to the floor. for the first time since his arrival on the island, he was let down by the pastries on sale. in front of him lied no muffin, and though he was blessed with incredibly patience, a little irritation sparked in his orbs. āexcuse me, are you out of--ā he stopped in his words as his gaze fell on the gal in front of him. a river of memories came rushing in, remembering the countless confusing yet freeing nights he had spent along her side. she looked well, bright and healthy, and instantly a smile blooms on his couplets. it had been years since the two had exchanged words, and though a rocky fall out had affected their friendship back then, jongin is more than positive that those negative thoughts had disappeared.

` sharp edges.
featuring @mphades and kim jongin,
on days where schedules did not demand him to be in specific places, one of jonginās favourite ways to spend his nights was loitering around in parks. something about the delightful smell of wood, the sound of leaves rustling against one another was oddly refreshing. sure, the temperatures were dropping as the months advance towards the yearās denouement, but that didnāt stop him from going on his late night adventures. tonight, he chooses not to go too far, heading towards a patch of grass that allowed a clear vision of the stars above him. they shone more beautiful than ever, and that in itself was enough to relax the loud thoughts that ruled over his mind.
as he approached the terrain, he noticed a sombre shadow nearby, the shadow belonging to an unknown body. something about the silhouette radiated mystery and darkness, an aura heās felt before. as curious steps brought him closer towards the foreign person, the moonās rays were enough for jongin to capture an image of the individualās features. sharp, prominent cheekbones, eyes that conveyed a thousand words, dark locks that crowned his visage. heās felt this way before, his own father radiating the same energy. it took a couple of minutes for the gears in his mind to turn. thanatos, his father, was known to work with none other than the god of the underworld himself, hades. heās somewhat frozen in his steps, legs unwilling to respond to the orders the male sent them. could this actually be him, could this really be one of the most intimidating gods standing in front of him? he finds it hard to believe, and yet rather than waiting around for an answer to be hushed in his ear, he trusts his instinct. rare were those who radiated such a powerful aura, he tells himself, so there were only small chances he could be wrong, or so he hopes.
finally, jongin musters up the courage to address the latter, eyes shining with admiration. āexcuse me,ā he begins, hesitation loud and clear in his voice. āi may be completely wrong but⦠are you hades?ā his words are clumsy, almost annoying when he hears himself in his head, and yet there was no better way to ask such a question.
` artificial happiness.
featuring @mp-taeyong and kim jongin,
playful workmates or friendly colleagues was the best way to describe the relationship in between the two males. both didnāt get the opportunity to talk in depth, yet from the way they spoke during their shifts, it was clear to jongin that he would share a rather positive connection with the latter. however, their times would clash, as would their placement within the venue. taeyong at the bar, jongin at the entrance, the pair never got the chance to sit down and chat about their hobbies, their likes and dislikes and so on. maybe one of them could make the effort to come forth and start a casual discussion, but things were fine the way they were now, jongin didnāt specifically look to deepen his bond with a colleague. it simply wasnāt in his nature.
naturally, their shift ended at the darkest hours of the night when not a single creature was in sight. during summer, going home at those times was pleasant. the warm weather ensured a pleasant stroll around the block, the calm streets resting the pulsating hearts of those who had just finished their stressful work. now, autumn was approaching, leaving its trace predominantly with the chilly weather that roamed the phantom area. unfortunately for jongin, he had been cursed with a low tolerance to cold, and for him, the drop in temperature was definitely noticeable. as the doors of the lounge shut, the dark-haired lad was more than ready to head back home, prepared for the calming sensation of his freshly washed linen against his body. swiftly, he grabs his jacket and waves goodbye to the last individuals that stayed in the lounge to clean up the mess made by clients. as he steps outside, heās greeted by a chilling wind that wraps around his body, fingers, nose and ears tensing up at the sensation. naturally, he shoves his hands in his pockets. his digits graze against a small zip-lock bag. strange, he thinks. jongin was not one to travel with random bags stored in his coat.
